Ann Coulter has always been a valiant fighter in the intellectual battle for conservatism. I even have a couple of her books, but she has gone too far this time. She's irritated me for a while now (didn't buy the last 2 books) and it has finally reached a tipping point:
1. It is one thing to criticize the partisanship and naive policy positions of the Jersey Girls, but it is another thing to start saying disparaging things about their husbands possibly leaving those "harpies".
2. It is one thing to criticize John Edwards for hypocrisy and being an intellectual lightweight, but it is another thing to use a sexual slur against him.
The latest slur against Bobbie Jindal is the final straw, and unfortunately it took her slandering a conservative for me to lose my patience with her. If this was an attempt at making fun of absurdity by being abdsurd (i.e. the liberal slurs against Jindal made by Helen Thomas, Malloy, etc.) then she needs to go on record and explain as such. As I read her column, this was just a slur against him for saying a few nice words about the POTUS. It was not a great speech in terms of delivery or clarity, but was her comment about being in "Slumdog Millionaire" really called for? I've had enough of this from her...she is constantly belligerent with people for no reason (O'Reilly who is not a great conservative, but why she'd want to alienate a center-right person of such power and influence is beyond me). And I'm not sure what she was referring to in her CPAC speech about Afghanistan being a quagmire. She is on the verge of becoming a liability to us now, and undermining her own intellectual brilliance (e.g. the illegitimacy portion of her recent book) with needless bombast. Maybe I'm just over-reacting because I am a Jindal fan...what does everyone else think? I'm frustrated...
We’ve run our course...thanks all for the feedback, even those who mistakenly think I’m a DUer or troll :). I beleive we have to fight, now more than ever before given what we are up against, and playing nice at this point is a bad tactic. But let’s be “mean” on substance. Tell the American people the awful truth about the left and what their agenda is for the US. Tell the left that their ideas and beliefs are downright cruel and mean-spirited, and call them out for their race hustling and class warfare. Tell them that they can no longer get by with mere good intentions and that their results are destructive and counterproductive to American prosperity. Let’s leave the superficial insults (against them or our own) to the other side, and stick with battling and whooping the left on ideas. Godspeed!
A lot of what Ann says and writes is done tongue-in-cheek. I love her sense of humor!

Perhaps you should take your own advice? If anyone is "going after" anyone, it's you or whoever else it was who wrote this piece that you posted and are defending. You (or whoever) wrote an entire piece attacking Ann Coulter. While she, on the other hand, made one passing remark about Jindal in a long column that didn't mention him anywhere else. It is you who are focusing all of this energy attacking "one of our stars" and not Ann.
So please, take your own advice.

I really like Bobby. I'm wondering if maybe he wasn't given a chance to write his own speech, but was instead handed something from the RNC and told, "This is the speech you will give".

All the guys on the ground Ive talked to have said for almost a year that Afghanistan was the country you didnt want to go to. It is looking quagmire-ish.
If you do not like AnneCoulter, you need to terminate your membership on this list, or go find a more lucrative venue of disinformation.

I like Ann Coulter, and I said I own her first two books. I’m simply querying what other freepers think with regard to her effectiveness, specifically with regard to this column. If you don’t like my opinoin, don’t read my thread.

I don’t agree with the guy about Coulter but isn’t it kind of harsh to make liking Ann Coulter a litmus test for forum membership?

The following season to my dismay the Tigers led in the AL Central all year, eventually they narrowly lost the division title and took the wild card but they won the ALCS and went to World Series (where they returned to form and embarrassed themselves).
She was wrong on Roberts too obviously.
I’m not a regular reader of her column, I’m sure it started before 2001, she was gonna run as a Libertarian against Chris Shays in 2000 to throw it to the rat, but they didn’t endorse her.
She’s a brilliant illiterater and entertaining writer.
I fully support calling Edwards a fag and those women harpies.
But there’s no defending crap like her vow to support the rat against McLame, there’s no call for that kind of nonsense, vote 3rd party or stay home, don’t aid marxists. I wonder who she voted for.

She is used as a rhetorical weapon against our side but then again they’ll demonize anyone.
She’s kinda in her own little world. Obviously she likes attention and rabble rousing, that’s why she’d tussle with O’Reilly. They probably made out afterwards.
