(CNSNews.com) Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who is also an OB/GYN, told CNSNews.com on Friday that many medical practitioners, including himself, will go to prison before agreeing to engage in medical practices they morally oppose, such as abortion.
Earlier that same day, the Obama administration had announced it was reviewing a Bush administration regulation known as the conscience clause. That Health and Human Services regulation protects health-care workers at federally funded institutions from having to engage in practices that violate their moral or religious beliefs. These practices include performing or referring abortions, performing sterilizations, or giving or receiving training in these practices.

The persecution of Christians is beginning to fire up for the USA.
IIRC, he will serve only 1 more term should he get re-elected, ‘cuz he has term-limited himself. Could it be possible that he may be thinking about a future run for the WH???
Now’s a good time to start a recruitment campaign, don’tcha think???
& once Obama has the fedgov take control of the entire medical system, he'll then be out of a job, right?
That's probably the plan. When the government IS the economy, defiance of the government means that you starve on the cold streets.
If Obama seeks to repeal this, he’d better damn well get rid of “conscientious objection” as a reason for hippies not to be drafted, too.
Simple, move a mile. You are in a better state and can still work the same job.
Uhhhhhhh...I dunno. I’m a proud Arkansawyer — been one all my life, & can’t see myself living elsewhere.

Received link to this video in my email. Was wondering if anybody else had seen it and, if so, what d’ya think?
That’s fantastic! Why doesn’t he run for Congress?
Don't expect the liberal media to take any notice or challenge Obama on this. "Hypocrisy" is his middle name.
I sent Sen. Corburn an email to thank him for this, even though I do not live in his state. I appreciate it, I really do, because folks like him make me proud to be an American.
Who? The soldier or the website owner?
Here it is again:
Please remember to spread the word!
Seems to me that if you decide to become a pharmacist you pretty much commit yourself to filling legally valid doctor’s RXes. If you think you cannot do that, find another profession.
It’s between me and my doctor what medications I take —the last thing I want is some pharmacist cross-questioning my RXes on any grounds other than MEDICAL. If the pharmacist thinks one of my medications is in conflict with another, or wants to review side effects with me, I welcome his or her input. But I don’t want pharmacists playing God and questioning what medications I take on the pharmacist’s personal “moral” grounds.
It’s pretty safe, btw, for Coburn to take this position and act the
“hero.” He knows HE will never go to jail.
I don’t have any prob w/ contraceptives....but abortion after the so-called “fetus” has formed? That, IMO, is pure murder & the states should punish it as strictly (or as leniently, dep. on the state) as they so desire. The feds shouldn’t have any say on the issue whatsoever.
I say in ‘12 we go with the all gyno ticket - Paul/Coburn or Coburn/Paul either way.
I’m all for it! Both of them are heroes in my book.
Wonderful. He sets a good example.
HAve you seen the Dow? I think a lot of people know he’s got the power to tank the country.
