I am not trying to be an alarmist, but I am worried about a lot of things. I just have to imagine what the chain reaction of the current downhill slide of the world’s economies can bring. Here’s what I imagine can happen in years to come:
Pensions will go bankrupt or be a shadow of what they were before, causing millions of retirees to be broke and maybe even hungry, with no recourse. Stocks and gold will probably cross at about 3,000. Robberies of banks and citizens will increase many fold, and make the streets of big cities dangerous. The danger will cause movie theatres, night clubs and restaurants to do poor business because of citizen fears of venturing out at night. Cars not in garages or in some way protected, will be subject to theft, break ins or stolen tires and parts, especially in big cities.

The big cities, with their large numbers of out of work minorities, will become extremely dangerous places to live, and there will be an exodus to safer, small towns, by those who are able, even if it means selling a big city home at a sacrifice price, just to be safe. The infrastructure and utility providers in big cities may become insolvent or fraught with vandalism. Out of work minorities won’t be able to pay utility bills. Without electricity, gas, or water, even for a short time, life can be extremely difficult, and especially in a high-rise building or multi-storey apartment.
FR should start a survival section. Primitive is correct.
I have to say I hesitate to go for coffee at 5 in the morning. Even with a big pickup with tinted windows. I hear gunshots every other Saturday night on 75.
As Willie Sutton the bank robber said when asked why he robbed banks, ‘because that’s where the money is’, but in this case I think even the banks won’t have money! Maybe the robbers will except IOU’s? Or maybe ‘Zero’ will sponsor a ‘bail-out’ bill for bank robbers!
Half of what you described is already the case.
Let’s see...the urban gutters already have:
- government interference/taxes/fees/restrictions reaching into every facet of life
- constant vandalism
- deadbeat dependents living on government checks
- extremely high violent crime rates
- high-rise apartment ghettos serving as headquarters for drug dealing thugs
Maybe someone knowledgeable about this could start it, as there is a lot of info needed to be a survivor in this type of environment that’s coming. The barter system will need to be in place as well....this is complete overhaul of the US...and going to another country is not feasible, as this will be a global takeover.
This is the positive scenario for how things might go.
Another scenario, equally as plausible, is the Mad Max scenario.
Food & firearms are essentials in the years to come.
But overall, the crime rate went down during the Depression. That’s my point.

1-Remember this, when it comes to water...my botany professor was a hiker and always carried IODINE, which only a drop or two per gallon will purify water enough to drink.
2- You can take a bucket of rain or river water and pour fast into a toilet and it will give enough pressure to flush it.
3- Be sure to stock up on candles, “lamp oil”, and purchase a couple oil lamps or camping lamps. Batteries may not be available later on.
Dried foods like oatmeal, rice, beans are good to have, and put a few bay leaves in any open bags or containers to keep out bugs.

Have barrels you can put underneath your downspouts to collect rain water.
Not to worry, a ‘false flag’ incident will trigger the next big war and get American industry back in gear.
And do not forget a manual can opener!
