LOS ALAMITOS, The mayor of a small Orange County city says he will resign after being criticized for sharing an e-mail picture depicting the White House lawn planted with watermelons under the title "No Easter egg hunt this year."

Yeah, he should resign. We all know how many rat mayors resigned for passing emails depicting President Bush as a chimp, or Hitler, or wishing his assassination.
This idiot in Orange Co did the right thing by resigning.
She is very new at this. So she did finish the job. She was afraid she would lose her job. But she did stand up for herself. We told her she doesn’t have to take crap like that. She has the right to refuse service.
On a lighter note, one of my co-workers was telling a “Mexican-American” co-worker that he felt if you come to this country to live and work you should learn to speak English. The Mex told him “That makes you a racist”.
Well guess what? :-)
Could you please list the mayors that sent out e-mails that depicted Bush as Hitler?
LOL! Nice tagline!
I can list the number of mayors who resigned for doing so. So can you.
I do not recall a mayor that sent an e-mail depicting Bush as Hitler. However, if they did they should have resigned, just like the mayor in Orange County.
We should do everything possible to make watermelons the recognized icon of the current administration: Green on the outside, and Red on the inside.
It gets better. Evidently, the mayor sent the email to one of his friends, Keyanus Price, who is African American. Price said she was horrified when she opened the image that was racist and offensive.

Those are highly collectible...neighbor of mine in Tennessee had one stolen off her front lawn last year.
Thanks, Lancey.

The article does not state that the former mayor is a Republican, but I will take your word for it.
However, as of today, the GOP is the minority party and if Republicans wish to remain the minority party, all they need to do is defend their elected officials who sent out racist jokes via email.
Nobody ever says goofy crap like that to me. I wish somebody would say something like that to me. I need to unleash a good, violent, acid-tongued tirade once in awhile.
My boss, at the Christmas party, told everyone not to bring up certain subjects around me. He said “You just have to walk away, while he’s yelling at the back of your head” He says I am an extremist. Yeah, whatever. I’m just sick of the $hit.
The mayor is a Republican.

To some, it may be harmless humor, but it cost someone his job.
And somehow, I think that sending out racist jokes via email will not help the mayor in his effort acquire new employment.
