I think this might end up like the series “Pushing Daisies.” Didn’t know if I really liked it at first. By the time I did, there weren’t enough viewers left to keep it on the air.
I wish he was appearing as our current POTUS in real life. :-(
It’s definitely one of those statements about the major difference between British and American audiences. In England Life on Mars got two seasons and a spin off that’s run two. In America it’s apparently too confusing/ weird and is going to be lucky to get to finish the season.
The 3rd episode of this series championed homosexuality and, though I have no problem with homosexuality— kind of get annoyed when moron liberals try to shove it down my throat.
I usually watch Lost, switching to another show afterward until the last couple weeks when I began to watch Life on Mars. It’s a decent show. However I’m kind of joining it midstream as it were having only watched a few episodes.
Really enjoy the music in it, some of it I’ve not heard in many years (giving a hint at my age here- lol)

They were hoping for carry over from the Lost audience. There would seem to be a good cross over but apparently not. Oh well, the BBC show is better.

Yes and knowing is half the battle. Seriously? Because someone is gay that's no excuse to beat them to death was supposed to be the lesson learned? Maybe they should rename the show "LIFE IN IRAN".
You don’t remember the early 70s too well do you? A major point of the show is the cultural differences between 1973 and now. Back in the 70s (and 60s and 50s too) “beatin up queers” was a generally accepted hobby for the “tough guy” contingent of our society. A big part of the “lesson learned” is remembering how things were, can’t really know where you are if you don’t know where you’ve been.
I don’t think it’s even slightly politically correct. In fact in many ways it’s politically incorrect. Part of the fun of the show is that these very 70s guys that include punches in their interrogation technique and scoff at the concept of women detectives are still basically nice people trying to make the world a better place. And that in some ways they’re better cops than the modern guys because they don’t have CSI to do their investigating, they live almost entirely on cop instinct.
It’s a good old fashioned 70s cop show, with weirdness. I like 70s cop shows a lot more than the modern day, less techno babble, more hookers in micro-shorts.
I agree-I used to watch it every week and then they moved it and I haven't seen it since...well until I caught the tail end of it last night while channel surfing. Now that I know where and when it's on again, I'll start watching...although I suspect it won't be renewed.
What??? Who doesn't know that? What are you talking about? Are you from Iran that you are just learning that beating up people for ANY reason is wrong?
And the music tracks are great.
