Sorry, but I have no interest in giving up any of my valuable time to people who 1--insult my beliefs, 2--piss on my country, 3--are major-league hypocrites.
Good riddance. Haven't seen a movie in a theater in years, and I haven't missed a thing.

I am with you Sparky! The last movie I saw in a theater was in 1996.

I'm not as rigid as you, but agree on your (3) criteria for what makes a star an ahole. I detest G. Looney, a man who makes tons of money in this country and looks down upon the country and the people who put the money in his pocket. I have not seen any picture he has appeared in except "The Perfect Storm", and won't see any others.
Maybe the names aren't going to be there because they've been eclipsed by Maobama, the zer0 they worked so hard to get elected and there's just no point any longer?

You have not missed much. from what I hear from friends & others, this year's Oscar nominees are BORING. Even their blurbs sound BORING.
Why is Barbara Walters having her little special? She always struck me as an uptight hag with a bad voice. She proved how petty and mean-spirited she is when she described in her book her affair with a senator. This no doubt caused a lot of embarrassment and pain for his family.

My wife and daughter are downstairs watching it, but as for me, I rather be having a root-canal.

I don’t even rent them. Once in a while I’ll catch one on cable but usually I watch a few seconds and am put off. Especially by violence. Like I NEED false adrenalin coursing through my blood. I can get the real thin on my bikes and boat.
Every once in a while one will grab me, like Children of Men. But then I probably saw something there completely antithetical to the writer’s intent.

You do not sound interested by just in case and for those who are not familiar. . .
Check out 'Big Hollywood' (Andrew Breitbart of 'Breitbart.com'). A Conservative effort embedding itself in Lib Land; encouraging; inviting Conservative diaglog and Hollywood Conservative outings. . .A Breitbart goal to fight the Lib's own culture war on their own ground so as to effect positive change.
There are Conservatives in Hollywood; and good to see them finding their 'courage'. . .for which they do pay a price. Breitbart trying to change that.
