I think we’ll watch “Patton” on DVD, but I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of the clothes when I have time in the next day or two.
I think Penn will win as a lazy Hollywierd ‘protest’ against Prop 8. Too bad, because Mickey Rourke deserves it
I haven't seen any of them. In fact, I just watched "There Will Be Blood" last week when it finally came to TV. I'm about a year behind.
It’s a treasured American tradition-bitching about the Oscars. Cause, boy, there’s always plenty to bitch about.
But the one thing I had to laugh at this year, were critics complaining about the obscureness of the Best Movie nominees. “How many people have seen these?” they whine.
Let your thoughts waft back to other years, when the critical whine was all about
Hollywood blockbusters being the Oscar darllings, instead of all those more deserving obscure, artsy films.
It’s already happened.
Some of the actors and actresses are wearing white ribbons in support AGAINST Prop 8.
I would LOVE it if they bring up destroying the planet — almost all the celebs have been coming in limos, including and especially Hummer and Expedition styles.
It’s great to hear that Clooney is out there in Darfur saving lives and resolving the conflict. Maybe he could stay on another 40 years or so—?? (If he needs a rowboat, maybe Sean Penn could send him that contraption he sunk in New Orleans.)
I’m rooting for Mickey to beat out Sean Penn. Other then that not even an evening of eyeballing Jackman could entice me to watch that drivel.
But I will watch this thread so I can trash the evening wear!
The last Indiana Jones movie for me.
300 was 07 movie I think ?!?!?
Academy awards aren’t about skill’s , good stories or performances anymore they are a political tool of liberal losers. I have already spent more time than I should on the subject matter.....:o)
This is better than the actual Oscars
Mickey is quite stylish with his open collar and Don Johnson scarf :) (with his hand down his trousers)
The what?
Hosted by who?
(really, why do any FReepers even care?...)
Hollywood long ago became occupied by hostile gay liberals.
If you are tempted to watch a movie (why would anyone be anymore?) don’t.
Send your $10 to FR instead.

I used to wear a BLACK RIBBON like those ... when asked, I to told them it was my “I DON”T GIVE AN EFF about NUTTIN”
The should go back to bribing the celebs 100k to come to the ceremony. Some of them i’m sure didn’t report it as income to the IRS.
Oh the irony.
From what I've heard he's actually a decent guy, and faithful to his wife. A rarity in Hollywood.
Now, instead, they have “”GIFT BASKETS”!! IRS is still trying to figure HOW to stick them as INCOME... but they running in to all kinds of trouble.

Duly noted.
Thank you for your concern.
