Using The U.S. Military to Round Up U.S. Citizens and Confiscate Their Private Weapons

Posted on 02/18/2009 1:33:35 PM PST by FortWorthPatriot

There have been several posts on different threads where this topic has been discussed. Some FReepers say our U.S. military would not use armed force against citizens if order to do so; others say they would, going as far as saying that "the military will fight for whoever pays them to."

I thought why not just ask our FReepers who are currently on active duty what they think.

So, active duty military FReepers, here are the questions:

1. Would you obey an order from the current president to disarm U.S. citizens and force them into internment camps?

2. Do you believe that those in your chain of command would carry out such an order?

3. What do you believe is the percentage of personnel in your command that would refuse the order?

4. What do you believe is the percentage of personnel in the entire U.S. miltary that would refuse the order?

I agree 100% percent. I have no qualms about shooting someone coming onto my private property in an attempt to disarm me, regardless of who it would be.

Amen to all the above. And at the risk of the flaming some JAG-hating FReepers will inflict, not one of the service TJAGs would support such an order, given the information in the original post.

There would have to be something that the government could reasonably paint as a crisis.

Shades of Raum Emmanuel: "Never let a crisis go to waste."

Would the GIs given such assignments be told that much detail about what their “operation” actually was all about? Would they not be inextricably deep into its execution by the time they found out? No, the troops would go along with at least the first wave of it. By the second wave the “unreliable” troops would be culled out and perhaps sent to join the citizens in incarceration.

I have no way to verify nor authenticate this from an e-mail I received from an active-duty Air Force officer friend. If true, it is more than disturbing. I would appreciate any FReeper input or research.

“Conservative News and Reporting “News for the Rest of Us”
Michele Chang.”

“Secretary of Defense Robert Gates is extremely frustrated with orders that the White House is comtemplating. According to sources at the Pentagon, including all branches of the armed forces, the Obama Administration may break with a centuries-old tradition.

A spokesman for General James Cartwright, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, states that the Obama Administration wants to have soldiers and officers pledge a loyalty oath to the office of the President, and no longer to the Constitution.”

Thoughts/research anyone?

Which reminds me of a guideline that I always use when evaluating what the Democrats are capable of: Listen carefully to complaints that Dems make about the actions of conservatives. They "project" their fears, right down to the tactics used onto their political opponents. If the Dems accused GWB of taking improper advantage of 911 (without much evidence), it is only because it is EXACTLY what THEY would do if they were in control when a similar crisis arose.

Then you get a statement like the one made by Rahm Emmanual that just confirms everything. He's a snake.

Perhaps I should clarify my “100%” answer.

My last unit was USMC Recruiting Station Little Rock. There were maybe 60 Marines total at that command (including recruiters and support personnel like myself) and I knew each and every one of them. None of those men and women I served with during those 3 years would follow such an order.

The premise of your post is good food for thought, but I doubt it’s what BigO plans to do. That’s why he is pushing for a civilian defense force (IMHO). In regards to military orders, there are two kinds...lawful and unlawful. A military member does not have to follow an unlawful order, however, he does need to know the difference as he may be subject to legal issues.

First off, BigO (the puppet) doesn’t pull any strings that the Clinton’s, along with their Global Initiative buddies, don’t want him to. Another IMHO, but I believe he’s just a front for what the Clinton’s are subvertively doing to this country, nationally and internationally.

Regarding the US Military, the concept of securing US civilian incarceration inside this country while defending their freedom on the outside, is a ludicrous mindset that will never set right with members of the armed forces, current and veteran.

However, a civilian defense force made up of individuals not favorable to US leanings and freedoms is a much more achievable alternative.

What the freedom loving American populace needs to consider a possibility is when the US military has been stretched so thin from here to abroad, that we no longer have the means to defend such a “civilian defense force” here at home.

Couple that with the assaults on freedom of speech, the second amendment, christianity, individual freedoms and patriotism, backed by a fueled approach to turning the US into a socialist/communist nanny state, and you’ve got a well planned recipe for disaster and the destruction of our country and everything it stands for.

_____________

I’m very tired of these conspiracy, “sky is falling” threads and had vowed not to take the bait anymore but something about this particular “nut-ball” thread has me curious.

Is this thread about the “current president” or disarming and imprisoning US citizens? Am I supposed to feel better because some might say that they would not obey such an order from Obama while those same members of the military might follow such an order from another president?

Good point and I agree. But I do not believe Zero's National Civil Defense Force would be able to pull it off. Once word got out that the "NCDF" had begun such actions, we sheepdogs would immediately arm ourselves and organize into units at the local/county level. Governors would call up their respective State Guards. We would outnumber Zero's "NCDF" in exceeding numbers.

It wouldn’t happen. Nearly all soldiers would refuse such obviously unlawful and unconstitutional orders. Do you remember the same stories about “concentration camps” and the like during Hillary’s reign? Those conspiracy stories are politically and opportunistically motivated to portray all conservatives as kooks.

Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve been hearing hints that this was in the offing for about two weeks. It started right after a bunch of military officers challenged the President’s eligibility for office.(birth certificate issues) The officers claimed that any orders issued by an illigitimate C.O.C. would be invalid and/or criminal, thus making them subject to prosecution.

This thread is about both. But it would apply to any president issuing such an order, not just Zero. He just happens to be the “current president” and has extreme socialist leanings that worry the crap out of me.

Perhaps you should go back to sleep if you are so tired of these threads.

I didn't think it was true. I KNOW how the Marines feel and I can tell you that the officers swear to protect and defend THE CONSTITUTION and there's no way they'd violate posse comitatus. No way. The older Marine veterans I meet (and those retired from the Air Force, Army and Navy) would NEVER EVER do such a thing. They're a rather impressive lot.

Not being from a military background, I'm in awe, but I always stand up straighter, feel safer when they're around and have to bite my lip to keep from bursting out laughing — even when they are in your face and down your throat — of course, as a Marine’s mother — I don't get that, but my eyes just twinkle when I see it. Reminds me of my mother when I was a child — you asked “how high on the way up” when she said jump.

See Post 71. It’s a urban legend — I didn’t think anyone would ask that of our troops.

Obama will bring in more Somalis and Muslims to shoot you if other Americans in uniform refuse.

Just what I was thinking. The UN will be glad to help out. As for me and mine, if some foreign troop feels froggy enough to take us on..
