Previously I compiled a list of the Ten Manliest Firearms. I noted that variations on the list were certainly acceptable, but still ran into a bunch of grief from non-men who were unable to read, nor to grasp that real men don't care if other real men disagree with them. Still, there are a LOT of guns out there, so I figured it was time to compile another list. You should own all of these guns before Zero takes office, and then buy more until he wets his pants and blubbers like the wuss he is. And if you don't like this list, compile your own, or wait for the next one.

It's a comfortable revolver, and if .44 Magnum is too much, you can load it with .44 Special instead. It is stronger than it needs to be, quite accurate, and instantly recognizeable. Carrying it in a well-made leather holster says that you are, in fact, a man and you take no crap.
Mine is the Model 629 with special NRA engraving. I'm still looking for just the right leather rig for it. I know, I'm discriminating, that way.
“faces of two thugs”
LOL. check out #10 for his first list of 10.
Zulu was a hell of a flim, you notice they also had the Webly, .455 revolver in that movie also, kind of a wimpy load but many of them were converted to .45 ACP with half moon clips and sold in America back in the 40s and 50s. I had one when I was about 22, wish I still had it. They were ugly but they shot well and were very strong guns.
Have you read Pohl?
I think he was a communist, but a friend of mine says his books are really good.
I didn’t think it was a revolver, I thought it was made on the TC contender frame? Wrong or not?
Read the first list ...
Has anybody here ever owned a Kimber handgun? I’m thinking about buying one and would love any opinions.
I love the movie Zulu - hence one of the reasons I took that as my name here.
I would love to get my hands on a Martini-Henry, but I guess they aren’t common in the states.
The Webbly had a strage action, didn’t it? The barrel and the top strap rotated forwards and down?
5 shot revolver is the nitro express. Big bang.
Somewhere there is a pic of the cartridge. Looks like an anti-aircraft round!
I didn’t think Pohl was a communist. Haven’t read him in years, so my memory is fuzzy.
LOL - Awesome read.
Funnily enough, I have #8 on both lists.
If you want a real project gun:
“Featured Item: $275 M-1878 Martini-Henry 577/.450 Short Lever Infantry Rifle: Untouched As featured in the recent SHOTGUN NEWS series by Reid Coffield. Original Item: In 1878 the Francotte patent Martini System was granted utilizing a detachable mechanism fitted without the Cocking Indicator. Revolutionary at the time by compartmentalizing the mechanism for quick disassembly, it only lasted 10 years as the latest technology. It was replaced in 1888 by the .303 cal Lee Metford bolt action Rifle’s introduction into the British Military System. Although the British never embraced this European improvement, these “Improved System Rifles” saw much service on frontiers all over the World. These Gurkha made examples were found in Military Storage in their homeland of Nepal. Each Rifle is offered totally AS FOUND, or in AS IS condition, completely un-cleaned and un-refurbished. Click here for more information.”
I know what the .600 nitro is. I saw a TC converted to fire it, didn’t know they made a revolver. Either way, it is just a tad more than I like in a handgun! He** of a big game cartridge though.
The Webley revolver was probably an anachronism in the film—it didn’t become general issue until 1887.
But it looked very cool in the reloading scene, so it stayed in the picture.
Obviously a little kid who is growing up right and not part of the “victim” psychology.
Got to pass this one around to the anti-gun gurly men and women I have to put with!!
Actually, I am refering to a different .600 weapon than the one the author is using for his list.
Didn’t know that.
They pulled one off on me. I also heard something about an airplane in the background in one scene.
But still - a GREAT movie!!
I prefer the “Hello Kitty” assault rifle model, myself.
AWESOME!!!
But I want one I can shoot.
Where would get the ammo for such a weapon? Probably have to re-load it I guess.
