This story struck a cord with me - this is what I call the proper application of an instrument of self defense. Second amendment opponents may try to drum up support for this criminal, thinking they woodwind, but their efforts will hit a sour note and be brushed away when he proves to be a poor cymbal for their cause. They can stick it. That’s what he gets for having the brass to try and horn in on this teacher’s house. One guy is dead, and this teacher will have to carry this w/ him; and what 4/4? In any case, I’m sure we will hear no violins for this guy. Fiddle with a band teacher, get shot in the organs, go to the morgue, no strings attached.

Ill tell ya, this story just keeps playing through my head. I picture this thief, moving through the house, stuffing items into sax. I mean, did he realize that when he chose to march to a different drummer that his bad choices would be a snare? Its not like the old days when he maybe would have been only guitar and feathered. And now the die is castanet. I suppose growing up there was a chorus of voices urging him to do right. But he went the wrong way, and viola, hes gone.

“Detectives said they had yet to pinpoint why Tomlin, who was dressed in black and wielded a .40-caliber handgun, targeted Miller’s duplex.”

EXCERPTS from Article:
Tomlin's friends and family described him as a quiet, fun-loving man who played football and basketball and lifted weights. He had a 2-year-old son, Rashard Jr. Darryl Woodson, 21, Tomlin's friend and roommate, said they often would sit up nights sipping beers and spinning freestyle rap lyrics.
Tomlin was arrested six times since 2006 on charges including aggravated battery and violating probation, state records show.
"I don't believe he did it. He wasn't the type to get in trouble. He got along with everybody," said Tomlin's cousin, Kena Robinson, 30. "Whenever he wasn't at home watching my kids, he was at the labor pool."
Just another innocent youth.

Ain't that always the way? Dead perp, caught (and shot) in the act of some obvious violent felony ... and a bunch of morons go on about how he was such a nice kid. Right.
Aside from all the tyranny, mass murder, and economic disaster ... Stalin was a pretty nice guy ... just tryin' to ru(i)n his country.

If it was a .38 Spl or a .357 Mag revolver then there's no need to pick it up, just eject and pocket. ;-)
A .380 auto on the other hand...

But they even put his ADDRESS in! With a Google map to it! Yeah, but it's a pretty safe bet that nobody is going to bother him unless they're a certified Darwin candidate.
Come to think of it, let them go after him.... /evil grin.....
