France to recognise Gen Franco - Feb 15, 1939

I was going to say that Britain would do the same on the 27th. But my source for that - www.worldwar-2.net - also has the following under Jan. 27.

Neville Chamberlain is criticized by many members of the British Parliament for his recognition of the Franco government in Spain.

Could one of those be an error?

No, you are correct. On the 27th both Britian and France officially recognized the Franco Government in Spain according to the Chronological History of Certain Major Events Leading Up To And During World War II With The Ostensible Reasons Advanded For Their Occurrence 1931-1944 printed in 1944 by the United States Government Printing Office (hence the ridiculous title).
