Ron Paul is close, but his foreign policy stinks.
All conservative or reform candidates who plan to run in 2010 are already 4 billion dollars behind ACORN. But I will cheer for and vote for them for all the good that will do.
A return to Constitutional government and federalism would be ideal. However, I seriously doubt that is in the cards for the foreseeable future.
The only hope is for Obamanomics to be a total failure.
Why do we need these federal taxes? The states will fund everything themselves, except for defense and other minor needs. The entire point is to remove the feds where they don’t belong by intentionally starving them of their oxygen, our money.
I heard this many times over. Doesn’t Nobamas stink too? Maybe Ron Paul would have been on a better course because at least his fiscal policy would have not destroyed us from within and we could have fought him on the foreign stuff?
“Defense needs could be financed through financial arrangements with the individual states.”
but
“Screw the feds, we don’t need them anymore.
Make up your mind.
“All of the other CRAP can rot on the vine.”
You do realize I Suppose, that everyone in your state might not feel the same way, that they may want the State/local government to step in where the Feds left off, and that State/local taxes will rise?
If we can make this TOTALLY a "states" issue, it will solve itself over time as those states who are wasteful will soon learn that business and taxpayers can choose to live elsewhere. It also provides protection from over reaching by the feds as they are now. There are legitimate needs for some federal presence in our lives as our founding fathers understood and made accommodations for but it should be MINIMAL.
#1 objective today: the Congressional GOP needs to remain united and slow down the Obama-Reid-Pelosi juggernaut. Another 40 years in the wilderness is not an option for conservatives.
No presidential signature, no budget. No executive branch enforcement of tax laws, no taxes. When you add in the number of potential number of candidates elected on this type of pledge, there will be no democrat majority ever again. They've lifted their skirts and we've seen how ugly they really are. I'd support this type of candidate 100% and I'm sure there are many who are chomping at the bit to get a chance to vote for one as well. We are no longer "helpless" and unable to do anything about the destruction of this nation. Our weapon is within each of the states.
They may come after me if I say this: but what we need to do is PUSH for the defunding of Federal Police Agencies: NSA, FBI, SS, etc..then they won’t have the power to enforce any of their unconstitutional Bull sh*!

Worse than Obama’s?
The Democrats are in power and they'll approve anything Obama sends them. That's the way America's political system works. Its the liberals turn to screw things up. Hopefully they'll do a bang up job and by 2010-2012 elections the GOP will gain back power and push the conservative agenda for all its worth.
Actually, if there was an active campaign being waged by serious candidates to pledge as I've proposed, it would serve to undercut support for any of Obama's future spending plans. These politicians look after themselves FIRST and might think twice about what they vote for, especially if it will be DE FUNDED anyway in two years.
The most serious candidates in the last two election cycles were Democrats. Not Republicans and not conservatives.
Aside from Obama and the Dems running the country. Lets not forget that almost half of all Americans don’t even bother to vote and of the 60% that did vote in the last two elections, the liberal establishemnt got most of their votes.
Point in fact: the GOP needs leadership at the top. Right now, there is no leadership to speak of. Until someone grabs the GOP by the cojones and decides to advance conservatism, what we have today, is what we have to live with.
I agree about what Ron Paul says for a while and then he seems to kind of veer off the cliff and reminds me of a crazy relative. I wish we had a candidate who believed in the constitution like he does but seems more sane.

People keep saying that, but Obama is sooo much worse.
How do we make it clear that our consent is hereby REVOKED and we DEMAND new elections to replace ALL constitutional officers?
These crooks, thieves and perverts now holding high office have bankrupted and ruined the wealthiest and most productive nation the world has ever known! Now all our wealth is borrowed and all our production has been shipped to China and India! And we ALLOW this PACK OF FOOLS to remain in office?
NO!
OUT ... every last one of them ... OUT!
Time for new elections, across the board. Keep the Constitution and throw out everything else. Reset.
AMEN AND AMEN!!!!!! But the US Constitution is a "living document" - that must bend and adapt to the times (and the socialist desires of America's leadership).
I'm going to go vomit now...
