Has Barak Obama's Presidency already failed?

Has Barack Obama’s presidency already failed? In normal times, this would be a ludicrous question. But these are not normal times. They are times of great danger. Today, the new US administration can disown responsibility for its inheritance; tomorrow, it will own it. Today, it can offer solutions; tomorrow it will have become the problem. Today, it is in control of events; tomorrow, events will take control of it. Doing too little is now far riskier than doing too much. If he fails to act decisively, the president risks being overwhelmed, like his predecessor. The costs to the US and the world of another failed presidency do not bear contemplating.

Nice article. BO is advocating spending and controlling a great deal very early in his Administration and the public is not certain about this from the latest polling. In a year if things have not improved economically in the U.S., what "political capital" does he have left? He can only blame the previous POTUS for so long......he can't blame Congress since they largely wrote his plan for him......he can't propose further big spending since the mods/conservatives in his own party are already walking the tight-rope on TARP and the stimulus.

A year from now, Barry will be an essential lame duck as spending bills have produced nothing, more big bills are politically unviable, and, the economy is largely unchan ged from today. What then?

He wants ACORN to get 50 billion so they can vote him in again. Problem solved.

Exactly. He doesn’t give a s**t about average Americans or if the country goes down in flames. All he wants is the power. That’s all any of his party care about.

Carry this on out.

If Obamba, essentially throwing a “hail Mary” at the outset of his term, fails as it appears very likely.........what’s the public reaction?

From the get-go of his term he’s going big, risky, and marginally likely. If this time in 2010 things are the same or worse, how does he fare? Not good.......and it won’t matter about party ID. His stimulus will do nothing but send untold billions down the pike and and Congress will be complicent.

The American public, regardless of party ID, will not stand for nor be happy with the result and things will change. They will have to. Status quo will not survive no matter how fashionable it may have seemed a year previous.

I’m working on a conspiracy theory and my thoughts on BO is that GW Bush and HW Bush being big New World Order types are in cahoots with the G-7 or is it G-8?! WELL, whichever and they were in the process of continuing to weaken American until it would have to accept the World Government being pushed up us.

This is where they miscalculated and instead we were hijacked by a terrorist regime headed up by our current POTUS. Now we are headed down a deadly path and nobody knows the outcome.

I hope you are right, but judging from the 2006 and 2008 elections, I am not sure I have that kind of faith in the American electorate. Sure, FReepers know their stuff, we do the reading, calling, writing, but the average American doesn’t. They are content to watch American Idol, read People magazine, and get the government bennies whenever they can. The media has also been complacent, even cheering Hussein on, helping him get elected, and they will spin this and spin this until people are still believing that it is all Bush’s fault. Obama voters are a strange and yes, creepy, bunch - they literally do believe he is some sort of Messiah and hang on his every word.

I wish I could share your optimism and I am going to pray you are correct in your analysis, though.

You might be right about that. I would tend to think that the only way they could put forth a One World Government is if we are finished as the world’s superpower and are weakened to the point that we have no other choice. What better way than to say the the world’s economic system is a global system, with each country interdependent on the others, and that the only way we will find our way out of this is to adopt first a one world currency, ending at a one world government? The pieces fit...that is, if you’re into this conspiracy theory stuff....I’m still sort of playing with it in my mind.

The Financial Times editorial staff is all over the place. Just yesterday on Yahoo tech-ticker video program Wolf, editor of the FT was saying Obama and Congress should do nothing and now he’s saying Obama is not doing enough.

Obama has already failed. And failed badly.

Just wait until all those retired members of AARP learn the Dems want to gut Medicare.

There will be rioting in the streets. Guess the Dems will have to activate all those secret FEMA prison camps the government has been building. Got to put all the useless eaters somewhere . . .

Have not heard about the prison camps, yet ____ ? Check my freeper page. They are real. One of Obama's closest associates, Alcee Hastings, proposed the legislation. YouTube Video

Oh, well. Nothing to see here. Time to move on.

What then indeed. You have the potential for some none traditional coup. I doubt it would come from the military, but I’m thinking if Obama is perceived as a total incompetent in a year, dragging us down into a second Great Depression while his position as CIC is discredited during a terrorist crisis, a lot of people will want him politically gone.

Obama is well onto this course right now.

Hopefully there will be an angry mob of Americans storming DC with barrels of tar and buckets of chicken feathers.

But, that's just my idea of "hope and change" for Washington DC.

You are somewhat new to FR,
in the future please use original article titles when posting here, especially when posting from a major media source such as the FT, even with the original title this article will be posted several times today, all we can do is try to minimize the duplication and consolidate conversations around particle articles, our best option to do so is using the original article title.

Cheers,

p.s. Definitely should check out Wolf’s interview in my post above.

We may not be a one world government, but we are a one world economy. The economy of each country is intertwined with the world economy. Because the US economy is so big, when we go down, the world economy goes down.

Instead of working on economic reforms, the stupid DemonRATs went on a wish list spending spree in a quest for power and control. Tax cuts would have stimulated business faster than such things as $6 billion going into university building projects. Such building projects take time to plan before any construction worker gets a paycheck.

This country is going down. We are really going down.

Has Barak Obama's Presidency already failed?

The answer to that depends on how Hussein and his backers define success and failure. In the "stimulus" bill they get pretty much control of everybody's family doctor. All that money to ACORN while a lefty DoJ is in place gives him control of federal and probably important state elections. Taking the census into his own house gets some control on the allotment of Congressional Representatives. And then there is Amnesty coming. And the Civilian Defense Force (funded at the same level as DoD). The last two aren't even necessary to initiate a true One-Party State, but they will bring the fullness of it much sooner and will be the enforcement of such necessary measures as disarmament and physical wealth confiscation. Does anyone fancy wearing a placard detailing one's sins against the people as one is paraded through the streets preparatory to incarceration or a peoples' righteous lynching?

If Obamba, essentially throwing a “hail Mary” at the outset of his term, fails as it appears very likely......

He must fail, he will fail economically on the terms of people who think of success as recovery and prosperity. If his Stimulus bill passes finally the worst part of it for America is not the economic destruction it will effect. It is, after all, not even a lot of money compared to the $7 trillion Bush already obligated. The irreversible damage is in the medical clauses and in the ACORN money.
