Wow! I traveled to Argentina regularly until late 1997, but I hadn’t realized how much it has gone downhill since then.

Several Argentinean friends saw collapse coming, but I don’t think they had, at the time, as much reason to fear then as we have now with Obamanomics.

"The American Idol presidency"

The vapid inanities of Paula Abdul (the Democrats) and the pretend mature criticism of Simon Cowell (the Republicans) combined to give us a bag of foul sounding and fouler smelling wind.

My aunt from Argentina felt like she was living her life in Argentina all over again with these elections.

I know Karl Denninger isn’t popular around here. I rather like him though. He calls “Zero The Hero” for exactly what he is.

I followed back that graphic that you posted and found the article at the URL above. It will probably change soon though...the content on it that is.

Squantos - Do you still have that URL that you sent me about the guy who gave a "man on the street" synopsis of the 2000 Argentinian collapse? It was about as close as anything we could expect here....very bleak. I made the kids here read it. We all agreed that it was good and could even help people to prepare.

You should repost it here for others. I've got it somewhere. If I find it first, I'll post it.

The U.S. certainly has very different political traditions from Argentina and more barriers to a populist-driven rape of the economy.

The author is incorrect with the second part of his assumption. We haven't had a single 'barrier' to a populist driven rape of what's left of the US for decades.

The inmates are running the asylum and the rest of us are WATF.

I figure we have a year, maybe, before the wheels really come off.

A year? At the current rate of decline, that's entirely possible. I've been saying for some time now that by spring, they'll stop calling me crazy for predicting a depression! I've had people at work ask me HOW I know what's going to happen! I tell them that I'm WATCHING it happen! They look at me like I'm from a different planet!

I said a year, maybe. Those of us who are paying attention will start seeing the sh** hit the fan in the next couple of months.

I have to tone my opinions down at work as I report directly to the owner. So if I tell him "you're screwed no matter what you do" he'll chop MY head next. LOL.

So I'm offering helpful advice on his firearm purchases, how to cache foodstuffs, etc.

I do tell him we're living in 'interesting times' and explain that. Then he goes out and buys another weapon and another case or two of ammo.

Although truth be told after spending a day at the range with him, he can't hit the broad side of a barn with that pricey new Kimber he just bought.

LOL.

He did look at me funny when I said he might want to lay in some used Kevlar from bulletproofme.com.

"You never know" was all I said.

Good luck.

I have friends in Columbia and they are bewildered and disgusted about what’s happening here.

Argentina was always a joke reference in the past. The more this situation unfurls here in America, it ain’t funny no more! Thanks for posting this... I’ll share it with those that have eyes that see.
