Fighter jets scrambled after UFO follows plane over Athens: jets were scrambled to intercept a UFO

The object was spotted by the pilot of Olympic Airways flight 266 from Athens, and the sighting was corroborated by staff at Athens Airport and a nearby Greek air force base. Pilots of two other passenger jets also reported seeing the body.The eyewitnesses described it as looking like a large star, although it was moving erratically and constantly changing shape.Two fighter jets were sent to investigate the sighting over the Greek capital in November 2007 but the object shot up into the sky and vanished before they could get a clear view.

June 5, 2009 Albuquerque, New Mexico - Since my Coast to Coast AM radio news update on May 28, about the 300-foot-long triangular craft that hovered over the hunters’ camp trailer at about 100 to 200 feet, I have received more than a hundred other eyewitness reports of similar craft going back to the 1960s and up to the present day.

In late July 2006, I saw something very similar. I was traveling westbound on I-80, approaching South Bend, Indiana, about 11 p.m. In the distance was what appeared to be very bright, white airplane landing lights low in the sky. What made me pay attention was the fact that they were extremely bright, they didn’t seem to be descending, and they were stationary. While there is an airport near there, it seemed unusual. As I got closer, the highway curved so I couldn’t see the lights as they were obscured by trees, but as I came around the bend, and passed over a bridge, I looked to my left to see if they were still there. I was stunned to see a large triangular object with the configuration of 3 large, white lights and and a centered, larger red light on the underside of the object.

I couldn’t accurately assess how high up it was or how far away it was, but based on a tower nearby, I guessed it was about a half-mile away and about 500 feet in the air, so it seems that a size of 250 feet along each edge of the triangle is reasonable. The white lights I saw earlier in the distance seemed to be on one of the sides of the object that faced east as I was heading for South Bend. There weren’t any similar lights on the side of the object as I passed by. The thickness of the object seemed to be about 10-15% of the length. The corners of the object appeared somewhat rounded. There was a significant amount of ambient light, so I could see some definition of the side facing me. I really couldn’t stop and pull over to take a longer look as traffic was moving pretty quickly at the time.

My background: I’m an electrical engineer and computer consultant who travels frequently and am pretty knowledgeable about most civilian aircraft. I also have a pretty good familiarity with many military aircraft. I’d never seen anything like it, so when I got home and began researching a bit, I came across the discussions of black triangles on the web, but the illustrations accompanying your Earthfiles article more closely resemble what I saw.

Definitely, something was there. Not a hallucination.

I saw a flying triangular aircraft in the late 1990s, around ‘98 or ‘99. I was working the 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift at my job and had went outside at 5:00 a.m. for a coffee and cigarette break. I was working in a commercial/business area of Plano, Texas, at Campbell Rd. and I-75, just north of downtown Dallas. I was located in the city not a quarter mile from I-75.

As I drank my coffee and smoked my cigarette under the awning of my building, I suddenly saw an aircraft approximately 100 yds above me. The craft was only visible due to the white lights on it and the single red flashing light that was located approx. one third into the center of the aircraft. The craft was very much like the one you described, but it was not 300 ft. It was more like 100 ft wide and long. The aircraft also had more than 3 lights on it. The craft I saw had six white lights on it and one flashing red light.

The craft was black, I guess, as it was not visible in the black sky and I believe it may have had a light absorbing texture or paint because it did not reflect light nor did the parking lot light show the craft outline. The craft was only moving about 30 to 50 mph (I guess, very slow) and the time I viewed the craft was approx. 5 to 10 seconds. I was trying to pay attention to details when it happened as I knew I was seeing something that most people have never seen before. The craft did not make a single sound, nothing, zilch, Nada!

Another very important thing that I must note: there was no wind at all while the craft was flying over. This was not a helicopter, it was not a normal plane. When the craft had moved above and in front of me and I was about to lose sight of it, I was looking to see if I could tell what the back looked like. But it was not visible and the rear of the craft looked very thin. The craft was headed from north to south direction and was just off the highway.

I got the feeling that this craft wanted people to see it, as it was lit up literally like a Christmas tree. An ex-Navy friend suggested that maybe it was a new blimp of some sort, but I just don’t know. This took place at Glenville Rd. and Campbell Rd. I also included a quick paint representation of what I saw.

My story is in response to the story I heard May 28, 2009, on the Coast to Coast AM radio program broadcast out of Augusta, Maine, on WLOB Radio 101.3 FM. The story I am referring to is of the triangular object reported to have been seen by Kris Bales and reported by Linda Moulton Howe.

I also have seen a very similar thing. I was not alone when I witnessed this event. I am not sure now of the exact year. I am guessing it to be around 1987 or 88. This took place in Industry, Maine, in a rural area. Myself and about 5 or 6 other people were at my then girlfriend’s parents home just hanging around outside by the vehicles. I think we were getting ready to leave somewhere and there were a few other people there. Was a very nice sunshiny, summer afternoon. We were all just chatting standing by the car getting ready to go when suddenly it got dark, like a huge rain cloud just happened overhead, which is exactly what I thought when it just suddenly got dark. I looked up to see what kind of storm would be moving in so fast and to my surprise, just about centered over us, there was this huge, black, triangular craft. It had to be at least as big as a football field. It was just about centered over us when I looked up. It was so big and so low that I really couldn’t see the sides of it even. I tell people that it was so low I think I could have thrown a rock up at it and hit it. It was probably not that low, but being so large, I had that feeling.

There was no sound at all except for was I think of as what any object might sound like as it went through the air silently. I call it a whirring sound, like something against the wind and moving. No mechanical or jet engine sound. No smoke or vapor trail of any kind. I do not recall seeing any lights or markings of any kind. It was almost an equilateral triangle shape, but maybe a bit more pointy at the forward area.

I seemed to be the one most concerned with this thing. Everyone just kind of put it off as a new stealth type of jet, although that sort of thing is not common. I should have reported it and made better documentation of this, but I didn’t. The craft was also moving very slow. It was hard to believe that something so large and with no visible or audible engines running could hold such a thing in the air at such a low speed.

My immediate thought was that this thing had lost its means of propulsion and was looking for a place to land. This is in a mountainous area, by the way. There is/was a field about two miles away in the direction that this craft was going. My idea was to hop in the car and drive to that area to see it land. A few of us jumped in the car, and drove as fast as we could to get to to the field about 5 min. away. We got there, got out of the car, turned off the car’s engine, but didn’t see a thing or hear it. This is the end of the story. This story is true and there had to have been others that day that also seen this. I am curious if anybody else did report on this.

4) From: CIA in United Kingdom - Late 1980s to Early 1990s

In the late 80s/early 90s, I was stationed in the U.K. with the United States Air Force as a special units officer of the CIA and worked on the Flying Triangle project as a sound technician. I studied the affects of the craft’s sound emissions on the environment so I was not privy to all of its workings. But from what I know, the three circles at the outer points generated low amplitude sound waves that crashed with each other in the center which also contained a huge magnesium, circular, flywheel-like device. The three crashing waves kept the wheel in balance. If they moved the wheel slightly in one direction, the craft would instantly travel in that direction as the unit tried to balance itself. It could stop on a dime once balance was allowed. This craft could hover and fly at incredible speeds and made no sound to the outside viewer/listener. It used very little electricity and when I left they were fitting it with solar collectors to test space travel. But I was unsure if this thing could perform in space. Its capable speed has nothing to do with the speed of sound. When out of balance, the craft will continue to accelerate faster and faster. Our test speeds were limited by the size of the Earth’s atmosphere.

I’ve noticed increased reports of these crafts over the past few years and it appears they are making them a lot larger than the original test units. But, these are Earthlings, not ETs. [ Editor’s Note: Other sources insist any human-made triangular craft is back-engineered from retrieved extraterrestrial technology.]

The biggest developmental problem I remember was the vulnerability of the diaphragm-like area between the circles. Any size penetration, like a small bird, would send the craft tumbling out of control. It looks like the newer versions have an additional outer surface to overcome this.

One of the pilots told me it was like flying a hot air balloon. They could hover a few hundred feet above people and hear everything they were saying.

One other thing I remember that they found out by accident was that if two of these crafts got too close to each other in flight, they would stick to each other like magnets. It wouldn’t harm the flight of the craft, but it was weird. When I left, they were studying this and were testing sticking them together in flight like pieces of pie. But no one had suggested a practical use for this ability.

The last thing I can say about this project is that the guts of the craft were designed and made at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. I’ve been there many times. The main building had no windows and personnel were told it was used for the stealth bomber project, but that was not its true purpose. You can see the building I’m referring to by visiting the base. It is the only one with no windows and has its own special security detail.

The 1966 Westall UFO incident

Another interesting UFO case from Australia, this time a School in Victoria.

At approximately 11.00 am on Wednesday, 6 April 1966, a class of students and a teacher from Westall High School were just completing sports on the main oval when an object, described as being a grey saucer shaped craft, with a slight purple hue and being about twice the size of a family car, was sighted.

Witness descriptions were mixed: Andrew Greenwood, a science teacher, told “The Dandenong Journal” at the time that he saw a silvery-green disc. According to witnesses the object was descending and then crossed and overflew the high school’s south-west corner, going in a south-easterly direction, before disappearing from sight as it descended behind a stand of trees and into a paddock at The Grange in front of the Westall State School.

After a short period (approximately 20 minutes) the object - with witnesses now numbering over 200 - then climbed at speed and departed towards the north-west. As the object gained altitude some accounts describe it as having been pursued from the scene by five unidentified aircraft which circled the object.

It’s interesting to note that the 5 aircraft has never been explained, the RAAF denied any knowledge of these craft.

The military turned up quite quickly to investigate the area and question many of the students and staff and then told them to downplay the incident, also the bureau of meteorology stated that they released a weather balloon on Wednesday and it could have drifted to the school.

A new investigation was conducted by Shane Ryan, an English lecturer at the University of Canberra in 2006, the 40 year anniversary of the incident.

Around 30 of the witnesses from that day were interviewed.

On the UFO, everyone seems to agree, Mr Ryan says. It was a low-flying, silver/grey shining object, either of classical flying saucer shape or close to it, “a cup turned upside down on a saucer”. The students were familiar with light aircraft because the schools were close to Moorabbin Airport. Although the UFO was of similar size, “everyone said straight away that they knew it was not a plane”, Mr Ryan said, nor a weather balloon.

The object was in view for up to 20 minutes, and many saw it descend. Most agree it landed behind pine trees at the Grange Reserve. Dozens of students ran across what was then an open paddock to the reserve to investigate, but the object had lifted off and vanished.

One of the closest witnesses was a boy whose family leased land at Grange Reserve for horses.

Shaun Matthews was on holidays and spending time on the land.

“I saw the thing come across the horizon and drop down behind the pine trees,” he told The Sunday Age this week. “I couldn’t tell you what it was. It certainly wasn’t a light aircraft or anything of the like …

“I saw the thing drop down behind the pine trees and saw it leave again. I couldn’t tell you how long it was there for, it was such a long time ago.”

Mr Matthews, 51 and now living in Greenvale, said the object “went up and off very very rapidly”.

“I went over and there was a circle in the clearing. It looked like it had been cooked or boiled, not burnt as I remember,” he said. “A heap of kids from Westall primary and high school came charging through to see what had happened — ‘look at this, look at that, we saw it as well’, that sort of thing. It was a bit of a talking point for a couple of days.”

Mr Matthews said the object, about the size of “two family cars”, passed him at a distance of about “four football fields”. “It was silvery, but it had a sort-of purple hue to it, very bright, but not bright enough that you couldn’t look at it,” he said.

“I saw that it dropped down behind the trees, and I thought, ‘hello, hang on’. A minute or so later, it went straight up, just gone.”

He said police and other officials interviewed his mother. But he cannot remember them burning the landing site, as others have alleged. And he did not see any light aircraft trailing the object, as others did.

“The way this thing moved there is no way it could have been a weather balloon or a light aircraft,” he said.

“A helicopter? No way — no noise, wrong shape, and it didn’t move like it. It came out of the distance, stopped, and then just dropped.

“It didn’t just sort of cruise and then slightly descend at an angle. It just stopped, dropped, and then went straight up.”

Update June 12, 2009: Miami-Dade police report that since April, 33 dead and mutilated cats have been reported to their animal cruelty unit. Those cases happened in Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay and Kendall, Florida, suburbs of Miami.

Three more mutilated cats were found on Thursday morning, June 11, 2009. One cat belonging to Joylene Ceballos does not fit the historic pattern of half cats and other cat mutilations since at least the 1980s. Her striped 12-year-old tabby cat was discovered “chopped into pieces.” The other two dead cats found Thursday morning were killed, according to Miami-Dade police, by “a pack of dogs.”

The day before on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, five other cat mutilations were discovered in Palmetto Bay. At noon time, a cat belonging to a Miami police officer was found dead and cut in a front lawn of the police officer’s neighborhood. “Everyone in the neighborhood knows it’s a police officer’s house [where June 10 mutilated cat belonged to police officer]. Another police officer lives right across the street. It’s just crazy someone has the nerve to do this,” resident Michael Miller told Local 10 TV.

So far, no one has been arrested and the reward for information leading to an arrest in the cat mutilations is up to $12,000.

Original Report June 6, 2009 Palmetto Bay, Miami-Dade County, Florida - Since May 14, 2009, twenty-six dead and mutilated cats have been found in the Cutler Bay and Palmetto Bay region of Miami-Dade County and by June 3, 2009, two more mutilated cats were found in Lauderhill, Broward County, northwest of Miami.

Palmetto Bay, Florida is about three miles square, 90% residential and was not incorporated until 2004. There is a Palmetto Bay Police Department and it sent six officers to investigate a recent bloodless cat body found in the 16200 block of Southwest 89th Court. On Friday, June 5, I was able to talk with the resident who found the cat.

Interview:

Palmetto Bay Resident: “The cat was laying on the right side, sex not known.

WHAT WAS EXCISION LIKE AND WAS THERE ANY BLOOD?

I never saw any blood and I don’t know what the other side of the cat looked like because I only saw one side. There was a bloodless excision of cat hide 2-inches wide and 3 to 4 inches long from the spine to the abdomen. The shape of the excision was the shape of a football. I didn’t see any blood, so it’s like something was done somewhere else and then the cat was dropped back to the front yard. To my eyes, it did not look like anything had been done at the site where I found the cat.

ALL FOUR LEGS AND THE HEAD WERE THERE?

Yes.

WHERE WAS THE EXCISION EXACTLY?

Right above the rear, left leg (cat laying on right side). The football-shaped removal of the cat’s hide was 2-inches wide from spine down 3 inches to the center of the abdomen.

There seems to be a lot of different variations to the mutilations here. Sometimes they are described as ‘disemboweled.’

ANY CATS CUT IN HALF THAT YOU KNOW ABOUT?

Not that I’ve heard about in Palmetto Bay, but he police and animal care organizations are keeping details from the public, I guess because they don’t want to set off mimics.

I UNDERSTAND THERE HAVE BEEN HALF CATS REPORTED, PERHAPS IN CUTLER BAY AND THE MOST RECENT IN BROWARD COUNTY. WAS THE MUSCLE TISSUE VISIBLE IN THE EXCISION?

I think so. The cut looked like it was sort of skinned and not a hole penetrating into the body. There was muscle tissue there.

In this Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay area there have already been 26 cat mutilations. After I found the cat, my wife called the Palmetto Bay Police and six officers showed up.

DID THE POLICE TAKE THE CAT FOR A VETERINARIAN NECROPSY?

I don’t know. I had to leave and my wife called the police.”

History of Mutilated Cats

“Some of the cats were cut in half with what some say
is almost surgical precision, others disemboweled or skinned. One resident said, ‘There is never any blood at the scene, the animals are often dismembered
with surgical precision and paws and other body parts are often left on the ground in strikingly similar arrangements.’”

Bloodless half-cats and other excision variations have been reported in Florida, throughout North America and England for decades. When I was in England the summer of 1999 for crop circle research, I learned that the London Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals had received dozens of reports from residents who found on sidewalks or front yards their cats and rabbits disemboweled or cut in half or even decapitated. And usually without blood on the animals or at the site.

Florida has had many previous cycles of reported half cat and other kinds of cat mutilations. On Saturday, June 30, 2001, in the small beach town of Navarre, Florida, about fifteen miles east of Pensacola in the panhandle, a cat was found strangely cut up near its home. Northeast of Navarre is Eglin Air Force Base on Choctawhatchee Bay. Across the bay is Desin, Florida, where there have also been reported cat mutilations.

I also quote from the November 18, 1980, response by Federal Judge Gerhart A. Gesell, who wasn’t allowed to see any of the disputed documents. His comment in his ruling was that “The public interest in disclosure is far outweighed by the sensitive nature of the materials and the obvious effect on national security their release may well entail.” The Federal Court of Appeals agreed with him and the Supreme Court refused to hear the case. In about 1997 the NSA decided that because of the new Executive Order 12958, making it much tougher to continue to keep documents more than twenty-five years old classified, they released a much more lightly censored affidavit with only 20% blacked out. In addition they “released” all 156 UFO documents. Unfortunately, they used Wite-Out to cover-up all but one or two lines per page. Whited out pages don’t have quite the same impact on television as solid black areas. A number of people in ufology then gave me a hard time saying that now it was clear that there was no cover-up. They reluctantly admitted that one couldn’t read what was under the Wite-Out. Still they insisted, per the NSA, that everything covered up was just about Sources and Methods, which by law could not be released. They also took note of the fact that the lines one could read often said “(Probably a Balloon)” after the mention of a UFO. This seems highly unlikely considering that NSA’s job is to monitor foreign military communications. Why was the material filed under UFOs, if there was nothing of substance? I should point out that I have very quietly talked to a number of former NSA people who told me they often intercepted UFO reports from foreign pilots. Another important aspect of the cover-up is the October 20, 1969, statement by USAF Brigadier General Carroll Bolender, while reviewing Project Blue Book, with which he had no previous connection: “Moreover reports of UFOs which could effect national security are made in accordance with JANAP 146 and Air Force Manual 55-11 and are not part of the Blue Book System.” Two paragraphs later he noted “However, as already stated, reports of UFOs which could affect national security would continue to be handled through the standard Air Force procedures designed for this purpose.” I spoke with Bolender and it was clear that he understood the distinction between civilian reports and ones which could effect national security. Clearly the sightings of most interest are the ones that could effect national security. Blue Book wasn’t even on the distribution list for sightings reported under JANAP 146 or AF Manual 55-11. I well remember the frustration expressed by Blue Book Scientific consultant Dr. J. Allen Hynek when I told him about the Bolender memo at a West Coast MUFON Symposium in 1979. He felt very used. But if they weren’t part of Project Blue Book, where were the important cases documented? Why haven’t we been told about them? Why does the USAF always respond to queries about UFOs by referring to Blue Book and the fact that it was announced as being closed in December, 1969? I have heard, for example, of flying saucers being observed going right down the runway of a Strategic Air Command base. Unfortunately, my informants don’t provide classified documents. There is testimony, but no proof. I must admit it is also true that people have found plenty of Project Blue Book sightings that were brushed off by Blue Book that, upon much more careful investigation, turned out to be significant cases. Dr. James McDonald in his congressional testimony (Ref. 1) talked about some of these. Brad Sparks and Jan Aldrich of Project 1947 have also been working on these sorts of cases. USAF Pilot manuals still have instructions for reporting UFOs despite the USAF still claiming they now have no interest in UFOs. In this paper what I intend to do is provide numerous examples of flat out LIES by various government agencies and individuals about UFOs. LIES about Roswell LIES about the recovery of a crashed flying saucer near Roswell, New Mexico, in July, 1947, have gone on for fifty-eight years. Evening newspapers across the USA from Chicago west on July 8, 1947, carried front page headlines stating that the government had recovered a flying saucer on a ranch outside Roswell. That the cover-up went into effect quickly is shown by the full-width front page headlines later that same day in the Los Angeles Herald Express “Army Finds Flying Saucer.” In smaller print on the next line the LIE was in place: “General Believes it is Radar Weather Gadget.” Earlier, newspapers east of California only had the “finds saucer” story. Within just a few hours of the press release from Roswell announcing the find, Brigadier General Roger Ramey, then Commander of the Eighth Air Force based at Ft. Worth Air Field in Texas was LYING to the press and the public that it was just a radar reflector balloon combination. Pictures were taken in his office showing phony wreckage not matching at all the description given by Major Jesse Marcel who had retrieved a small part of the wreckage located by rancher Mack Brazel “last week” according to all the July 8 stories. Ramey really had chutzpah since he was holding a folded piece of paper in his hand with printing on it that Dr. David Rudiak has deciphered including such phrases as “victims of the wreck.” The Army Air Force solidified the weather balloon radar gadget explanatory LIE with the launching of such a device for the press over at Alamogordo Army Air Field on July 9. The full-width July 10 front page headline of the Alamogordo News, with three related pictures, was “Fantasy of ‘Flying Disc’ Explained Here.” There was a 24-column-inch front page article. It was accepted, though it was perfectly obvious that the weather balloons could not explain all the sightings of high speed objects such as those observed by Kenneth Arnold on June 24. It took until 1994 for the USAF to make a preemptive strike against the GAO, searching for Roswell information for congressman Steven Schiff, by finally admitting that they had LIED about the weather balloon explanation. They LIED again to do it, now falsely, in a two-inch-thick volume The Roswell Report: Truth vs. Fiction in the New Mexico Desert (Ref. 2 ) by USAF Colonel Richard Weaver (he provided the fiction). He claimed that the Roswell wreckage had been a super secret Mogul balloon train found on June 14, 1947, by rancher Brazel. In the first place, June 14 is hardly “last week” from July 8. In the second place, the characteristics of the wreckage described by witnesses don’t match Mogul balloons. For the latter the paper-backed foil could easily be torn, the balsa wood sticks were easily broken, cut, and burned. The I-beams described by Jesse Marcel could not be broken, cut or burned. In the third place, it was claimed that the unusual symbols described by people like Dr. Jesse Marcel Jr. were from a toy manufacturer’s tape used to hold the radar targets together. Isn’t it amazing that the Air Force has not been able to show a picture of any such tape nor are such symbols visible in the high-resolution photos taken in Ramey’s office? In the fourth place, USAF Colonel Richard Weaver, a disinformation specialist, in his huge, grossly misleading report (Ref. 2) carried a LIE by Counter Intelligence officer Colonel Sheridan W. Cavitt claiming “The area of this debris was very small about 20 feet square and the material was spread on the ground, but there was no gouge or crater or other obvious sign of impact. I remember recognizing this material as being consistent with a weather balloon. We gathered up some of this material which would easily fit into one vehicle.” Cavitt also LIED in saying that he had not met the rancher. The only way he and Jesse Marcel could have found the crash site would have been to follow the rancher out. Jesse indicated that Brazel had given them a can of beans and they stayed overnight in their sleeping bags. Considering that a Mogul balloon train consists of 20-25 standard neoprene weather balloons tied with string at twenty-foot intervals, with ballast packs, sonobuoys and radio transmitters, and stretched over 500 feet, it would have been impossible to fit such a pack in one vehicle. If Cavitt’s description had been accurate, there would have been absolutely no reason for Marcel and Cavitt to follow the rancher out, much of the trip cross country at that. The debris would all have fit in Brazel’s pick-up truck and would have all been left in town. The reason Marcel went out to the ranch was because there was nothing conventional in what Brazel brought in and because Brazel had indicated that the wreckage had covered an area hundreds of feet wide and three quarters of a mile long, and his sheep wouldn’t cross the debris field. Remember that Brazel had recovered weather balloons before and also had first heard on July 5 in Corona about flying saucers and a reward for recovery of one. It is interesting indeed that Weaver also quoted heavily from the Roswell Daily Record of July 9 with the new story for Brazel (“Harassed Rancher who Located ‘Saucer’ Sorry He Told About It”), but left out the final comment “I am sure what I found was not any weather observation balloon.” Weaver also left out the comment in the article that the debris covered an area 200 yards in diameter or 1000 times greater than that stated by Cavitt. Nobody mentioned that neoprene balloons left in the hot dry air of New Mexico turn to dust in a couple of weeks. In the fifth place, the many Air Force claims about how classified Mogul was were LIES. Results that showed they had picked up sound waves from a Soviet nuclear explosion with their constant altitude balloon train would indeed have been TOP SECRET. But the equipment was standard conventional balloons, sonobuoys, etc. Some launches were allowed to just come down in the desert, no chase planes, no ground crew following. The guys cleared to work on it were cleared through Confidential according to a June 1946 memo at the National Archives. Another LIE from Weaver was his absurd statement: “In 1978, an article appeared in a tabloid newspaper the National Inquirer [sic] which reported the former intelligence officer, Marcel, claimed that he had recovered UFO debris near Roswell in l947. Also in l978, a UFO Researcher Stanton Friedman, met with Marcel and began investigating the claims that the material Marcel handled was from a crashed UFO.” This neatly tabloidizes the story. After all, how could the Enquirer know about the story unless Marcel had taken it to them? Where else does a UFO researcher (can’t say scientist, after all) get his leads, except from the tabloids? Weaver finishes with another LIE: “Similarly two authors William L. Moore and Charles Berlitz also engaged in research which led them to publish a book The Roswell Incident in 1980.” One would think falsely that there was no connection between me and Berlitz and Moore who must also have gotten their lead from the Enquirer. The fact of the matter is that the article in the Enquirer by the late Bob Pratt appeared in 1980 not 1978. I gave Jesse’s contact info to Bob because Bill Moore and I had already talked to sixty-two people about Roswell and the first Roswell book The Roswell Incident by Bill and Charles Berlitz, with Bill and I doing more than 90% of the research, was about to come out. I had previously met Bob at MUFON Symposia and had read a number of articles that he had written. He was far more accurate than the UFO articles I have seen in the New York Times and Washington Post. Bob also served as the liaison between the Enquirer and their panel of 5 professionals, including Dr. J. Allan Hynek, Dr. James Harder, Dr. Leo Sprinkle, and aerospace engineer John Schuessler, now MUFON’s international director. Weaver LIED again when he supposedly quoted from a July 8, 1947, FBI memo, about the wreckage “The object found resembles a high altitude weather balloon with a radar reflector … disc and balloon being transported.” The rest of the sentence after “reflector,” intentionally left out by Weaver since, despite the size of the report, he doesn’t include the memo itself, was: “but that telephonic conversation between their office and Wright Field had not borne out this belief.” This reverses Weaver’s false statement. Weaver also LIED when he stated in his Volume that it would be the last official word on Roswell. As a matter of fact on June 24, 1997, his assistant on his volume, Captain James McAndrew, issued Volume 2 The Roswell Report: Case Closed. McAndrew LIED in claiming that the small alien bodies which Roswell witnesses had supposedly seen were, thanks to his “in-depth research,” crash test dummies dropped by the USAF all over New Mexico. He includes a map “Anthropomorphic Dummy Launch and Landing Locations” three times. The map does show the debris field and the Plains of San Agustin crash sites and a host of dummy-drop locations, none of which were near either crash site. Furthermore, Corona isn’t even on the map. A picture in the report shows officer Raymond A. Madson with Sierra Sam, one of the infamous crash test dummies. I managed to locate Madson, who had been in charge of the program. He noted two important facts that rule out the crash test dummies: The dummies had to be six feet tall and weigh 175 pounds for the tests to be meaningful (witnesses all described small skinny guys with big heads and big eyes). No dummies were dropped prior to 1953. When the announcement had been made at a press conference about the dummies in 1997, the official said — when it was noted that the crash happened in 1947, not 1953 — that peoples’ memories were fallible! This is one of the more bizarre LIES around. Perhaps the USAF had invented time travel for crash test dummies? Another lie was that pilot Joseph Kittinger was responsible for the stories I had heard about a nasty red-haired officer at the Roswell base hospital. He was there in 1959! McAndrew also LIED when he stated that Don Berliner and I had bad-mouthed balloon experts Duke Gildenberg and Charles Moore when we interviewed them separately in Socorro during a research trip. That is a bald faced LIE. Don and I did agree after the meetings that neither seemed to know anything about Roswell other than what was in the July 9 Roswell Daily Record article. We were courteous and friendly to both of them. Weaver also LIED when he stated in a letter to researcher Nick Redfern, then living in England, on April 11, 1994, “I can state that the Air Force considers the ‘MJ-12’ (both the group and the purported documents) to be bogus.” In reply to FOIA requests from both Nick and myself for any memos, letters, documents, etc. on which this conclusion was based “We have nothing in response to your request.” I appealed this and was told again they have nothing. So there was a grandiose claim (LIE) backed by nothing. Unfortunately, the FBI accepted the LIE and even reprinted on their website the identical set of Weaver MJ-12 documents with the hand printed BOGUS on each page. Weaver, who seemed to be quite willing to LIE at any opportunity, was not the only one who LIED about the MJ-12 Documents. Probably more innocently, the National Archives issued a letter on May 9, 1988, stating: “The Acting Director of the FOI Office at the National Security Council informed us that TOP SECRET RESTRICTED is a marking that did not come into use at the NSC until the Nixon (1969-1974) administration. The Eisenhower Presidential Library also confirms that this particular marking was not used during the Eisenhower Administration.” Both statements are false. TSR is used on the Cutler-Twining memo. Here is a quote from the large volume published by the General Accounting Office reviewing all their efforts to find Roswell related documents for NM Congressman Steven Schiff: “December 7, 1994 … reviewed records pertaining to the air Force’s atomic energy and certain mission and weapons requirements. These files are classified up to and including TOP SECRET … period covered by these records was from 1948-1956. There was no mention of the Roswell Incident … [I]n several instances we noted the classification Top Secret Restricted used on several documents. This is mentioned because in the past references to this classification (Majestic 12) we were told that it was not used during this period.” The Eisenhower Presidential Library had also LIED (again innocently) when they had claimed that all onionskin carbon copies of Robert Cutler’s memos were done on onionskin with an Eagle Watermark. This statement was changed after I had pointed out to an archivist a number of carbons done on other onion skin paper. The Cutler-Twining memo of July 14, 1954 was done on Dictation Onionskin, manufactured only in bid lots between the early 1950s and the early 1970s. I have discussed the MJ-12 research in Refs. 3 and 4. BLUE BOOK LIES Much less innocent was the LIE told by Secretary of the US Air Force, Donald Quarles, on October 25, 1955, as quoted in an official press release about a large study concerning UFOs. “On the basis of this study, we believe that no objects such as those popularly described as flying saucers have overflown the United States. I feel certain that even the Unknown 3% could have been explained as conventional phenomena or illusions if more complete observational data had been obtained.” That the two supposedly factual statements (3% Unknowns, incomplete observation data), are bald faced LIES is easily demonstrated by this table where the data are compiled from “the study” whose title was NOT given in the press release (“Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14,” Ref. 5) and which was not distributed, though the press release got very wide coverage. [chart at link above] Note that the UNKNOWNS, rather than making up 3% of the 3201 sightings investigated, comprised 21.5% and that there was a completely separate category “INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION.” The definitions are as follows: UNKNOWN — This designation in the identification code was assigned to those reports of sightings wherein the description of the object and its maneuvers could not be fitted to the pattern of any known object or phenomenon. INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION — The identification category was assigned to a report when upon final consideration there was some essential item of information missing…. It is emphasized that this category was not used as a convenient way to dispose of what might be called poor unknowns.” Here is the quality distribution of the same 3201 sightings. Note especially that the better the quality of the sighting the MORE likely to be listed as an UNKNOWN. A statistical comparison between UNKNOWNS and KNOWNS showed that the probability that the UNKNOWNS were just missed KNOWNS was less than 1%. [chart 2 at link] It should further be noted that the press release not only didn’t mention the title (surely some reporter would have asked what happened to the other thirteen reports) but did not mention who did the work, namely Battelle Memorial Institute (a very highly respected Research and Development Organization) in Columbus, Ohio. Apparently the press never asked about either the title or the organization. Amazingly, the three-page summary that was released with the press release gave none of the information in the more than 240 charts, tables, graphs and maps that are in the report. Here was a Cosmic Watergate totally ignored by the media. Another typical Government UFO LIE was uttered by Dr. Donald Menzel, a professor of Astronomy at Harvard. However, I had discovered in his papers at the Harvard Archives after receiving the required permission from three different people to view them, that he had a TOP SECRET Ultra clearance with the CIA and a very long history of work for the National Security Agency, the CIA, and many other companies. He said in Physics Today “All the non-explained sightings are from poor observers.” Menzel was earning his pay as a member of Majestic 12. I should also point out that subsequent annual USAF Project Blue Book Press releases consistently LIED by using a sneaky tactic of not including those cases still under investigation at the end of the year in their annual tabulation and by suddenly deciding that any one-witness UNKNOWN would have to be dumped in the Insufficient Information category, no matter how competent the witness. Obviously sightings that are still under investigation at the end of the year are more likely to be Unexplainable than those quickly identified. Testimony from one witness has been used to provide the death penalty for a convicted murderer. When the numbers are put back in the tabulations, again the percentage of UNKNOWNS was around 20%. Anybody searching for a cancer cure would be delighted if 20% of the drugs being tested actually did much more good than harm. Anybody with cancer would probably be satisfied if one drug worked. Note especially General Bolender’s comment above about sightings which could effect National Security, not being a part of the Blue Book system. MORE AIR FORCE UFO LIES Here are three claims from an August 25, 1993 letter from USAF Lt. Colonel Thomas W. Shubert, Congressional Inquiry Division, Office of Legislative Liaison, to Senator Patty Murray (of Washington State) who had asked about UFOs and Roswell for a constituent. The entire letter and my five-page rebuttal are in TOP SECRET MAJIC (Ref. 6). The same language (and misleading LIES) has been used since 1969. LIE 1. “No UFO reported, investigated and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security.” Again note Bolender’s claims about sightings which could effect national security. Furthermore note that if any of the three noted functions was performed by somebody else … CIA, DIA, NSA, NRO, MAJESTIC 12, etc., THE STATEMENT WOULD BE TRUE AND TOTALLY MEANINGLESS. Some recently obtained newspaper clippings from 1952 also clearly indicate that UFOs were considered a threat to national security. Frank Feschino Jr. (author of The Braxton County Monster: Coverup of the Flatwoods Monster Revealed for which I wrote the foreword and epilog — Ref. 7, 2004) and I had been searching through volumes of old sources such as The UFO Evidence, books by Donald Keyhoe and H. Wilkins, the Blue Book unknowns, and clipping collections of such outstanding researchers as Dr. David Rudiak and Barry Greenwood. We turned up such headlines as “Air Force Orders Jet Pilots to Shoot Down Flying Saucers if They Refuse to Land.” Lt. Col Moncel Monte, an Air Force Information officer, is quoted: “The jet pilots are and have been under orders to investigate unidentified objects and to shoot them down if they can’t talk them down,” [Seattle Post Intelligencer, July 29, 1952 page 1]. Here is another: “Jets told to Shoot Down Flying Discs,” [Fall River, Massachusetts, Herald News, July 29, 1952]…. “Jet pilots are operating under 24 hour alert to challenge the mysterious objects and to ‘shoot them down’ if they ignore orders to land.” I was particularly interested in a clipping from the Louisville Courier, July 30, 1952, in which Major General Roger Ramey (same man connected with Roswell), now Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force Staff for operations, “told the news conference that interceptor planes have raced aloft several hundred times as a result of reported sightings of unidentified objects. He said that was just standard procedure.” Normally aircraft don’t get scrambled to chase and shoot down unknowns in the sky unless the unknowns are considered a threat to our national security. Some people had doubted that there were dogfights between UFOs and our interceptors as Frank had suggested in the book. We found many examples of just that. I have over the years heard six accounts of more fighter planes going after a UFO than coming back from the chase. I believe we will find many more such accounts especially after noting how many military aircraft “accidents” there were in the 1951-1954 time frame and how many aircraft either crashed or disappeared on “routine training” missions. Some of the pilots had flown more than a hundred combat missions in Korea or during WW 2. It might be useful to point out that, while the penguins in Antarctica are definitely not a threat to the security of the United States, they are certainly real. 2. Colonel Shubert’s second claim, another LIE, was “There has been no evidence submitted to, or discovered by the Air Force that sightings categorized as “UNIDENTIFIED” represent technological developments or principles beyond the range of present day scientific knowledge.” In other words, we can imagine all sorts of technology such as the ability to use a silent round magnetoaerodynamic device to make right angle turns, move at very high speed horizontally and to hover. We just haven’t done it yet. And what if the evidence was submitted to Majestic 12 or the CIA, DIA, NRO, NSA instead of the Air Force? Furthermore, the use of fusion rockets for deep space travel is not beyond the range of present scientific knowledge. I worked on fusion rockets at Aerojet General Nucleonics in the early 1960s. To the best of my knowledge, we haven’t built any full size systems yet. We have operated a number of nuclear fission rockets on the ground similar, for example, to the NRX A-6 nuclear rocket engine built by Westinghouse Astronuclear Lab in 1968 and on which I worked. I don’t think we have operated any in space. Of course this also ignores the very special characteristics of the wreckage found at the Roswell crash site … extraordinarily light weight and strong metal, foil that could be folded over many times and would open on its own and could not be torn…. 3. Colonel Shubert’s third LIE to Senator Murray: “There has been no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as unidentified are extraterrestrial vehicles.” Really? So manufactured objects flying under intelligent control performing extraordinary maneuvers as observed all over the world both in the air and, as noted by researcher Ted Phillips, on the ground (more than 3000 Physical Trace cases in 90 countries) are not of ET origin? What if they are categorized as Interstellar Alien Craft? What can be said about the wreckage and bodies recovered in New Mexico in July, 1947 as described in Crash at Corona (Ref.8 )? Could we Earthlings in 1947 really make wreckage with the unusual characteristics described by rancher Brazel and the intelligence officer for the only atomic bombing group in the world? Another false statement from Colonel Shubert to Senator Murray (I would call it either a LIE or an admission of total ignorance): “We are not aware that any other government department or agency other than the National Archives possesses any records pertaining to UFOs.” I guess he is claiming that no navy sailors or marines or army, navy, marine pilots have seen or chased UFOs and that the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc, etc, have no UFO files. I guess ignorance is bliss. John Greenewald’s “Black Vault” web site contains many thousands of documents from agencies other than the USAF such as the FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, Department of State etc…. FBI LIES Here is a statement (February 22, 1972) from J. Edgar Hoover, the longtime head of the FBI: “The investigation of UFOs is not and never has been a matter within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBI.” As noted in my movie UFOS ARE Real and in the book UFO-FBI Connection (Ref. 9) by Dr. Bruce Maccabee, Hoover was able to obtain more than 1600 pages of FBI files about UFOs back in the late 1970s. Nick Redfern in his book The F.B.I. Files: The FBI’s UFO TOP SECRETS EXPOSED (Ref.10.) also notes FBI involvement in detail. Even Colonel Weaver quoted from an FBI memo about Roswell though in a grossly misleading fashion. How about the CIA? Is Colonel Shubert really unaware that a suit brought against the CIA by Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (back in the 1970s) brought forth 900 pages of UFO material (after LIES that they had nothing) and a list of 57 documents from several other agencies including the State Department and the Defense Intelligence Agency? Eighteen of the documents listed were from the National Security Agency, which after considerable prodding from the courts as described above “released” 160 of its own UFO documents. They were almost entirely whited out. There is also a funny story about the FBI and UFOs. I had written back in 1988 to both the CIA and FBI, under Freedom of Information and the Privacy Act, for any and all files they had on me. I provided my full name, Stanton Terry Friedman, date and place of birth, the fact that I had a Q security clearance from 1956 until 1970, etc. I know from talking to friends that had been interrogated by the FBI for my initial clearance and renewals five and ten years later, that the FBI had conducted the investigations. However, the FBI wrote saying they had no file on me. A LIE. Then the CIA responded that all they had on me was a negative name check request from the FBI and gave the file number. I sent a copy of the small CIA response to the FBI and asked that they recheck their files. They responded that indeed they did have a file, but it was classified. I asked how big the file was and at what level it was classified (I doubt if it was TOP SECRET RESTRICTED like the Cutler-Twining memo). They responded saying that both the size and level of classification of my file were classified. Eventually Larry Bryant, with my permission, was able to get a small portion of my file. The passport records were noted. At one point it appears as though they thought Stanton was Terry’s brother! It is hard to believe that they are totally incompetent … just arrogant in thinking they can get away with LYING. CIA UFO LIES The CIA, not surprisingly, has also LIED. When they were first approached by CAUS for UFO documents, they claimed their only involvement with UFOs had been in the Robertson Panel of 1953 and that they had no other UFO documents. Their 900 pages of released UFO documents (none of it classified higher than secret) proved that was a LIE. When the NSA finally did a court-ordered search, not only did they find their own 160 old UFO documents, but they also found 23 more from the CIA, which somehow hadn’t found them in its court-ordered search. In other words the CIA LIED to a federal court judge. It took me two years to get nine of those (they're supposed to provide FOIA responses in ten working days). They were unclassified English translations of Eastern European newspaper articles about UFOs. It took another three years in response to my appeal to get four more very heavily censored CIA TOP SECRET Code word UFO documents. On two, one could read only eight words that weren’t blacked out. One said “DENY in TOTO!” I am convinced that the CIA also LIED when they claimed they had nothing in response to an FOIA request from me for any information related to four national security briefings provided to President Elect Dwight Eisenhower by DCI Walter B. Smith between November 4, 1952, and January 9, 1953. I had given the CIA dates and times of two of the briefings and a copy of the letter from Smith to President Truman describing that he had kept Ike abreast of national security matters. The CIA in response to my appeal said they still had nothing. It is impossible for me to believe there was no record of four such high level briefings which we know took place according to a letter found at the Truman Library. They LIED. There were also a number of LIES in a paper by CIA Historian Gerald Haines in 1997, “CIA’s Role in the Study of UFOs.” For example, it was stated that the U-2 and Oxcart (Spy Plane) projects were responsible for over half of the UFO sightings from the late 1950s and 1960s. Dr. Bruce Maccabee has checked the statistics and there was no increase when they started flying. Surely these high altitude aircraft were never observed to appear to be round, able to hover, to move straight up and down, to make right angle turns all without noise or visible external engines or wings or to land and take off vertically as so many UFOs can. Haines said the first wave of UFO sightings was in 1947. Sweden had a huge wave in 1946. Haines says there are no original MJ-12 documents. He LIED. The Cutler Twining memo is at the National Archives. It is stated that 57 UFO documents were withheld because of national security and sources and methods. LIE. They were withheld because they originated from other agencies. Haines states “most scientists dismissed flying saucers as a quaint part of the 1950s and 1960s….” He provides no data. Polls taken for more than 30 years have shown that the greater the education the MORE likely to accept UFO reality. Two polls of engineers and scientists involved in research and development activities showed that more than 60% of those who expressed an opinion said they were likely real. The NAVY has LIED in claiming they have no information on UFOs, even after I sent a formerly TOP SECRET UFO report by the Navy and the Air Force. They found it interesting, but they still had nothing! An interesting LIE illustrates the need for cover up of TOP SECRET data in documents having a lower classification. USAAF General Nathan F. Twining was commanding officer of the Air Materiel Command in July, 1947. According to his flight log, which I found in his papers at the Library of Congress Manuscript Division, as confirmed by the flight log of his pilot, which I was allowed to copy, he spent the week of July 7-11, 1947 in New Mexico and had obviously been tasked to look into UFOs. In his famous letter of September 23, 1947, to the Commanding General of Army Air Forces, he stated “Due consideration must be given to the following: … (2) The lack of physical evidence in the shape of crash recovered exhibits which would undeniably prove the existence of these objects.” Many have claimed that this statement proves that no alien craft wreckage had been found in New Mexico in July. They ignore the fact that this letter had been only classified SECRET. Clearly crash wreckage would have been TOP SECRET Code word (note the NSA and CIA TS Code word UFO documents and an FBI memo claiming that the Air Force and Navy considered the subject of UFOs TOP SECRET). TOP SECRET material cannot be referenced in SECRET documents. Twining went on to be Chief of Staff of the USAF and then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He certainly deserved his spot on Operation Majestic 12. I by no means intend to imply that only government officials or employees lie about UFOs. Debunkers have often made false claims. A number of so called whistleblowers have lied repeatedly about their backgrounds. These include Robert Scott Lazar, who is not a scientist, did not get degrees from MIT or Caltech, did not work for Los Alamos (he worked for a subcontractor), did not figure out how saucers work, did not steal any element 114 or 115. Frank Kaufmann was not a Roswell witness. Guy Kirkwood, a.k.a. Mel Noel, was not an Air Force pilot who took pictures of UFOs from the air. Michael Wolf Kruvant had none of the six degrees he claimed, was not a colonel/pilot in the Air Force or a consultant to MJ-12. Lt. Colonel Philip Corso was not a member of the National Security Council, etc. etc. One can understand lying to really protect national security such as was done after the successful Atomic Bomb test in New Mexico July 16, 1945, with a story that an ammunition dump had blown up and nobody was injured. But with all the (False) claims that UFOs are no threat to the security of the USA, how can they continue to lie? If they are a threat, don’t we as citizens of a democracy have the right to know? I, for one, don’t want technical data — such as could be used by Osama Ben Laden, or Iran, or North Korea for military purposes — to be put out on the table. I do think it is of extraordinary importance for the future of this planet that we recognize we are NOT alone. We all on this planet do have something in common much as we hate to admit it. The Tall Blonds are not in any agreement that I know about. They are generally a mystery to most everyone I have worked with and have caused us problems so we have been forced to contact the Greys for help. I don't really understand the exact relationship between the Tall Blonds and various Grey types, but I don't think they are friendly. MJ-12 and the USAF keep track of the Tall Blonds by tracking them through contact with EBENs to some extent. The EBENs can communicate with the Tall Blonds, but the Tall Blonds do not spend much time in direct communication with anyone, even though they are supposed to be able to speak English. Verbal speaking is something the EBENs cannot do because they don't have a larynx like humans do. But the Tall Blonds can talk when they want to, which is not very often. Telepathy seems to be the communication of choice of both the Tall Blonds and EBENs. Is the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) now the control center for MJ-12? It's split between DIA and NSA (National Security Agency). How often do MJ-12 authorities get involved in human abduction cases? I'm not sure, but I do know there are cases that have never been public, like one in Wright, Wyoming, in 1974. A deputy sheriff was picked up by a UFO and two days later was put down in Burlington, Vermont. Don't think anyone knows why, including that law officer. Where was the deputy examined by MJ-12 agents? A USAF hospital and I think it was in Plattsburgh, New York. MJ-12 and USAF think the Tall Blonds had, or still have, an underwater base there, which is responsible for the magnetic anomalies that cause ships and people to disappear. One of the mysteries is which was here on Earth first - the Tall Blonds? Or the EBENs? Or did they end up here because they were at war with each other? We think that the Tall Blonds have long used the largest part of the Earth to cover their bases - what I mean is, underneath the oceans and seas and lakes. But I do know that before the Falkland Islands war, there was intense UFO activity there and an EBEN group rescued a human from the Tall Blonds. Some people in the government think the EBENs are our allies. Others think they lie to us. Maybe they all lie to us? It's really difficult when no human can get an honest and objective view of beings from somewhere else in the universe - especially when the EBENs and Tall Blonds both are involved in animal mutilations and human abductions. That means they are getting genetic material from Earth - so, what are they doing with it exactly? That's where the cloning technology to make body containers for all kinds of different missions comes in. MJ-12's greatest concern is who is walking around on this planet in a human body, but is not really human. Paul Bennewitz is convinced from the Cimarron case in New Mexico that those tall humanoids in charge of the short, grey ones, were mutilating animals in order to put blood in a vat as liquid sustenance for some kind of beings there. But there's more going on because genes are harvested from Earth life the way we grow crops to harvest. Paul Bennewitz did stumble into Project SIGMA - our communication efforts with the EBENs out of an NSA facility near Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque. MJ-12 couldn't allow Bennewitz to reach the public and media with credible information, which is what he was trying to do. Problem was, Bennewitz went to Kirtland first with his data! Set off alarm bells all over the place. So, a sophisticated misinformation campaign was organized to target Paul Bennewitz. One of the government's methods was to plant phony photographs of stuff on Archuleta Mesa near Dulce so that Bennewitz would talk about what counterintel operatives knew was phony. That's when they had Bennewitz in a noose and really kind of drove him over the edge. The CIA got involved, too, by moving the mother, Cindy, to a safe house in Los Angeles to get her away from the aliens after she and her young son were abducted from Cimarron. How often does Project SIGMA contact the EBENs and Tall Blonds? We didn't have regular contact until around 1978 and that's been mostly with the EBENs. We can send out a certain hertz frequency trying to make contact, but the EBENs have to initiate contact back to us. It's not like we can dial them up on a phone! The Tall Blonds are even more difficult. Occasionally, the Blonds will initiate contact for whatever reason, but they are entirely unpredictable. People in the human abduction syndrome also describe encounters with shorter blond-haired beings. I’ve been to many formations very early in the morning where all of a sudden, these military-type helicopters that you and I and others have seen over the years just suddenly show up. The helicopters fly right up to the new crop formation like on a mission and fly around them and look at them and then fly back the way they came. Clearly the pilot is being vectored into a location from a monitoring source. I’ve also found pen torches obviously placed on plants in formations before. I practically saw somebody once putting a pen torch in the middle of a circle in daylight. Back in 2002, I was with a Norwegian researcher and we went to a brand new formation very early in the morning and we found a pen torch. As we arrived, we actually saw somebody exiting the field in a very suspicious manner. We looked all around that formation and by the time we left, we decided it was a really genuine formation. Even more curious, by lunch time a visitor to the formation found another pen torch in the middle of the same formation that was added after we had been there! Other strange stuff Someone has used to salt crop formations with false hoax-artifacts are voodoo dolls and crucifixes, I guess to create a weird effect and doubt. Clatford Is Unprecedented Size in History of Spring Oilseed Rape Crop Formations Just in sheer physical terms, Clatford is unprecedented size in history of spring oilseed rape crop formations. This is by far the largest formation in oilseed rape. For that to happen at the first of May is really unusual and in the context of the other oilseed rape formations this 2009 season, it’s all been pretty impressive, especially Morgan’s Hill at 300 feet wide and Avebury at 290 feet wide. These have been really amazing designs that have no physical explanation for their presence whatsoever. And Clatford is a major anomaly and huge. IN 5-FOOT-TALL RAPE! Yes, pretty high, up to my shoulders, and really dense. It was a real tangle to get through. At first, I went up the wrong tramline and had to wade through it to get to the right tramline. It was very difficult to move in because the tops are all tangling together. The flowering oilseed rape flowers are coming to their peak and the plants are top heavy and starting to meld together and very difficult to walk through. Even the tramlines have plants falling into themselves, so I was really covered in yellow pollen to a serious degree when I left the field. “Sinister Situation”? “The basic understanding I have from pretty reliable sources is that elements of the British government, or shadow government or special agencies in the M.O.D., are well aware that the crop circles are real, that the government is monitoring them and making sure that the stories that go out into the media are as silly as possible.” It’s kind of a sinister situation in a way. I’ve had experiences where I’ve been asleep in a crop circle and been awakened at 6 AM by military helicopters that have been right on top of me only 50 or 60 feet above me. They were probably just as surprised as I was to see them. But they are clearly paying attention to crop formations. My information is from conversations I’ve had with people who have worked for the military and Ministry of Defence (M.O.D.) in various capacities. The basic understanding I have from pretty reliable sources is that elements of the British government, or shadow government or special agencies in the M.O.D., are well aware that the crop circles are real, that the government is monitoring them and making sure that the stories that go out into the media are as silly as possible. There are many elements about this Clatford pattern that do not make sense. I mean, why wouldn’t the ones who caused the damage – why not completely wreck the whole thing – send a tractor to wreck the entire field, rather than go in the field and break all the plants so it still looks perfect from the air? Beyond Charles Mallett's investigation in the first morning that the Clatford pattern was reported, a Cheltenham, England resident named Andrew Pyrka visited in the late day to twilight hours and was surprised to see faintly glowing orbs in a couple of his images. ABSTRACT

For almost sixty years the public has been hearing about flying saucers and then UFOs. Press coverage has ebbed and flowed, but polls have always shown a very high awareness score. Motion pictures, tabloids, and TV programs have picked up the slack with a melange of fiction and some truth. Unfortunately, much of what we have been told by the “powers that be” has been false. Many different government agencies have shared in the misrepresentation and have provided outright LIES as well. These include the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, United States Air Force, etc. The press and certain other academic and supposedly scientific groups, such as SETI (Silly Effort To Investigate) have often blindly accepted and promulgated nonsense without any effort to get at truth. Hopefully, the LIES presented in this paper will help cause these protectors of the public to do their job: seek and present truth.

BACKGROUND

For many years much of the focus in serious ufology has been on the government’s cover-up of UFO information. I can guarantee a laugh when at my lectures I show the 1980 NSA 21-page legal-sized TOP SECRET UMBRA justification (a legal affidavit) for withholding 156 UFO documents in response to an FOIA suit by CAUS (Citizens Against UFO Secrecy). Initially it was 75% blacked out. I turned page after page on which one could read nothing. This also went over well on television since one needn’t read anything. I also quote from the November 18, 1980, response by Federal Judge Gerhart A. Gesell, who wasn’t allowed to see any of the disputed documents. His comment in his ruling was that “The public interest in disclosure is far outweighed by the sensitive nature of the materials and the obvious effect on national security their release may well entail.” The Federal Court of Appeals agreed with him and the Supreme Court refused to hear the case. In about 1997 the NSA decided that because of the new Executive Order 12958, making it much tougher to continue to keep documents more than twenty-five years old classified, they released a much more lightly censored affidavit with only 20% blacked out. In addition they “released” all 156 UFO documents.

Unfortunately, they used Wite-Out to cover-up all but one or two lines per page. Whited out pages don’t have quite the same impact on television as solid black areas. A number of people in ufology then gave me a hard time saying that now it was clear that there was no cover-up. They reluctantly admitted that one couldn’t read what was under the Wite-Out. Still they insisted, per the NSA, that everything covered up was just about Sources and Methods, which by law could not be released. They also took note of the fact that the lines one could read often said “(Probably a Balloon)” after the mention of a UFO. This seems highly unlikely considering that NSA’s job is to monitor foreign military communications. Why was the material filed under UFOs, if there was nothing of substance? I should point out that I have very quietly talked to a number of former NSA people who told me they often intercepted UFO reports from foreign pilots.

Another important aspect of the cover-up is the October 20, 1969, statement by USAF Brigadier General Carroll Bolender, while reviewing Project Blue Book, with which he had no previous connection: “Moreover reports of UFOs which could effect national security are made in accordance with JANAP 146 and Air Force Manual 55-11 and are not part of the Blue Book System.” Two paragraphs later he noted “However, as already stated, reports of UFOs which could affect national security would continue to be handled through the standard Air Force procedures designed for this purpose.”

I spoke with Bolender and it was clear that he understood the distinction between civilian reports and ones which could effect national security. Clearly the sightings of most interest are the ones that could effect national security. Blue Book wasn’t even on the distribution list for sightings reported under JANAP 146 or AF Manual 55-11. I well remember the frustration expressed by Blue Book Scientific consultant Dr. J. Allen Hynek when I told him about the Bolender memo at a West Coast MUFON Symposium in 1979. He felt very used.

But if they weren’t part of Project Blue Book, where were the important cases documented? Why haven’t we been told about them? Why does the USAF always respond to queries about UFOs by referring to Blue Book and the fact that it was announced as being closed in December, 1969? I have heard, for example, of flying saucers being observed going right down the runway of a Strategic Air Command base. Unfortunately, my informants don’t provide classified documents. There is testimony, but no proof. I must admit it is also true that people have found plenty of Project Blue Book sightings that were brushed off by Blue Book that, upon much more careful investigation, turned out to be significant cases. Dr. James McDonald in his congressional testimony (Ref. 1) talked about some of these. Brad Sparks and Jan Aldrich of Project 1947 have also been working on these sorts of cases. USAF Pilot manuals still have instructions for reporting UFOs despite the USAF still claiming they now have no interest in UFOs.

In this paper what I intend to do is provide numerous examples of flat out LIES by various government agencies and individuals about UFOs.

LIES about Roswell

LIES about the recovery of a crashed flying saucer near Roswell, New Mexico, in July, 1947, have gone on for fifty-eight years. Evening newspapers across the USA from Chicago west on July 8, 1947, carried front page headlines stating that the government had recovered a flying saucer on a ranch outside Roswell.

That the cover-up went into effect quickly is shown by the full-width front page headlines later that same day in the Los Angeles Herald Express “Army Finds Flying Saucer.” In smaller print on the next line the LIE was in place: “General Believes it is Radar Weather Gadget.” Earlier, newspapers east of California only had the “finds saucer” story. Within just a few hours of the press release from Roswell announcing the find, Brigadier General Roger Ramey, then Commander of the Eighth Air Force based at Ft. Worth Air Field in Texas was LYING to the press and the public that it was just a radar reflector balloon combination. Pictures were taken in his office showing phony wreckage not matching at all the description given by Major Jesse Marcel who had retrieved a small part of the wreckage located by rancher Mack Brazel “last week” according to all the July 8 stories. Ramey really had chutzpah since he was holding a folded piece of paper in his hand with printing on it that Dr. David Rudiak has deciphered including such phrases as “victims of the wreck.”

The Army Air Force solidified the weather balloon radar gadget explanatory LIE with the launching of such a device for the press over at Alamogordo Army Air Field on July 9. The full-width July 10 front page headline of the Alamogordo News, with three related pictures, was “Fantasy of ‘Flying Disc’ Explained Here.” There was a 24-column-inch front page article. It was accepted, though it was perfectly obvious that the weather balloons could not explain all the sightings of high speed objects such as those observed by Kenneth Arnold on June 24.

It took until 1994 for the USAF to make a preemptive strike against the GAO, searching for Roswell information for congressman Steven Schiff, by finally admitting that they had LIED about the weather balloon explanation. They LIED again to do it, now falsely, in a two-inch-thick volume The Roswell Report: Truth vs. Fiction in the New Mexico Desert (Ref. 2 ) by USAF Colonel Richard Weaver (he provided the fiction). He claimed that the Roswell wreckage had been a super secret Mogul balloon train found on June 14, 1947, by rancher Brazel. In the first place, June 14 is hardly “last week” from July 8. In the second place, the characteristics of the wreckage described by witnesses don’t match Mogul balloons.

For the latter the paper-backed foil could easily be torn, the balsa wood sticks were easily broken, cut, and burned. The I-beams described by Jesse Marcel could not be broken, cut or burned. In the third place, it was claimed that the unusual symbols described by people like Dr. Jesse Marcel Jr. were from a toy manufacturer’s tape used to hold the radar targets together. Isn’t it amazing that the Air Force has not been able to show a picture of any such tape nor are such symbols visible in the high-resolution photos taken in Ramey’s office?

In the fourth place, USAF Colonel Richard Weaver, a disinformation specialist, in his huge, grossly misleading report (Ref. 2) carried a LIE by Counter Intelligence officer Colonel Sheridan W. Cavitt claiming “The area of this debris was very small about 20 feet square and the material was spread on the ground, but there was no gouge or crater or other obvious sign of impact. I remember recognizing this material as being consistent with a weather balloon. We gathered up some of this material which would easily fit into one vehicle.” Cavitt also LIED in saying that he had not met the rancher. The only way he and Jesse Marcel could have found the crash site would have been to follow the rancher out. Jesse indicated that Brazel had given them a can of beans and they stayed overnight in their sleeping bags. Considering that a Mogul balloon train consists of 20-25 standard neoprene weather balloons tied with string at twenty-foot intervals, with ballast packs, sonobuoys and radio transmitters, and stretched over 500 feet, it would have been impossible to fit such a pack in one vehicle.

If Cavitt’s description had been accurate, there would have been absolutely no reason for Marcel and Cavitt to follow the rancher out, much of the trip cross country at that. The debris would all have fit in Brazel’s pick-up truck and would have all been left in town. The reason Marcel went out to the ranch was because there was nothing conventional in what Brazel brought in and because Brazel had indicated that the wreckage had covered an area hundreds of feet wide and three quarters of a mile long, and his sheep wouldn’t cross the debris field.

Remember that Brazel had recovered weather balloons before and also had first heard on July 5 in Corona about flying saucers and a reward for recovery of one. It is interesting indeed that Weaver also quoted heavily from the Roswell Daily Record of July 9 with the new story for Brazel (“Harassed Rancher who Located ‘Saucer’ Sorry He Told About It”), but left out the final comment “I am sure what I found was not any weather observation balloon.”

Weaver also left out the comment in the article that the debris covered an area 200 yards in diameter or 1000 times greater than that stated by Cavitt. Nobody mentioned that neoprene balloons left in the hot dry air of New Mexico turn to dust in a couple of weeks. In the fifth place, the many Air Force claims about how classified Mogul was were LIES. Results that showed they had picked up sound waves from a Soviet nuclear explosion with their constant altitude balloon train would indeed have been TOP SECRET. But the equipment was standard conventional balloons, sonobuoys, etc. Some launches were allowed to just come down in the desert, no chase planes, no ground crew following. The guys cleared to work on it were cleared through Confidential according to a June 1946 memo at the National Archives.

Another LIE from Weaver was his absurd statement: “In 1978, an article appeared in a tabloid newspaper the National Inquirer [sic] which reported the former intelligence officer, Marcel, claimed that he had recovered UFO debris near Roswell in l947. Also in l978, a UFO Researcher Stanton Friedman, met with Marcel and began investigating the claims that the material Marcel handled was from a crashed UFO.”

This neatly tabloidizes the story. After all, how could the Enquirer know about the story unless Marcel had taken it to them? Where else does a UFO researcher (can’t say scientist, after all) get his leads, except from the tabloids? Weaver finishes with another LIE: “Similarly two authors William L. Moore and Charles Berlitz also engaged in research which led them to publish a book The Roswell Incident in 1980.” One would think falsely that there was no connection between me and Berlitz and Moore who must also have gotten their lead from the Enquirer.

The fact of the matter is that the article in the Enquirer by the late Bob Pratt appeared in 1980 not 1978. I gave Jesse’s contact info to Bob because Bill Moore and I had already talked to sixty-two people about Roswell and the first Roswell book The Roswell Incident by Bill and Charles Berlitz, with Bill and I doing more than 90% of the research, was about to come out. I had previously met Bob at MUFON Symposia and had read a number of articles that he had written. He was far more accurate than the UFO articles I have seen in the New York Times and Washington Post. Bob also served as the liaison between the Enquirer and their panel of 5 professionals, including Dr. J. Allan Hynek, Dr. James Harder, Dr. Leo Sprinkle, and aerospace engineer John Schuessler, now MUFON’s international director.

Weaver LIED again when he supposedly quoted from a July 8, 1947, FBI memo, about the wreckage “The object found resembles a high altitude weather balloon with a radar reflector … disc and balloon being transported.” The rest of the sentence after “reflector,” intentionally left out by Weaver since, despite the size of the report, he doesn’t include the memo itself, was: “but that telephonic conversation between their office and Wright Field had not borne out this belief.” This reverses Weaver’s false statement.

Weaver also LIED when he stated in his Volume that it would be the last official word on Roswell. As a matter of fact on June 24, 1997, his assistant on his volume, Captain James McAndrew, issued Volume 2 The Roswell Report: Case Closed. McAndrew LIED in claiming that the small alien bodies which Roswell witnesses had supposedly seen were, thanks to his “in-depth research,” crash test dummies dropped by the USAF all over New Mexico.

He includes a map “Anthropomorphic Dummy Launch and Landing Locations” three times. The map does show the debris field and the Plains of San Agustin crash sites and a host of dummy-drop locations, none of which were near either crash site. Furthermore, Corona isn’t even on the map. A picture in the report shows officer Raymond A. Madson with Sierra Sam, one of the infamous crash test dummies. I managed to locate Madson, who had been in charge of the program. He noted two important facts that rule out the crash test dummies: The dummies had to be six feet tall and weigh 175 pounds for the tests to be meaningful (witnesses all described small skinny guys with big heads and big eyes).

No dummies were dropped prior to 1953.

When the announcement had been made at a press conference about the dummies in 1997, the official said—when it was noted that the crash happened in 1947, not 1953—that peoples’ memories were fallible! This is one of the more bizarre LIES around. Perhaps the USAF had invented time travel for crash test dummies? Another lie was that pilot Joseph Kittinger was responsible for the stories I had heard about a nasty red-haired officer at the Roswell base hospital. He was there in 1959!

McAndrew also LIED when he stated that Don Berliner and I had bad-mouthed balloon experts Duke Gildenberg and Charles Moore when we interviewed them separately in Socorro during a research trip. That is a bald faced LIE. Don and I did agree after the meetings that neither seemed to know anything about Roswell other than what was in the July 9 Roswell Daily Record article. We were courteous and friendly to both of them.

Weaver also LIED when he stated in a letter to researcher Nick Redfern, then living in England, on April 11, 1994, “I can state that the Air Force considers the ‘MJ-12’ (both the group and the purported documents) to be bogus.” In reply to FOIA requests from both Nick and myself for any memos, letters, documents, etc. on which this conclusion was based “We have nothing in response to your request.” I appealed this and was told again they have nothing. So there was a grandiose claim (LIE) backed by nothing. Unfortunately, the FBI accepted the LIE and even reprinted on their website the identical set of Weaver MJ-12 documents with the hand printed BOGUS on each page.

Weaver, who seemed to be quite willing to LIE at any opportunity, was not the only one who LIED about the MJ-12 Documents. Probably more innocently, the National Archives issued a letter on May 9, 1988, stating: “The Acting Director of the FOI Office at the National Security Council informed us that TOP SECRET RESTRICTED is a marking that did not come into use at the NSC until the Nixon (1969-1974) administration.

The Eisenhower Presidential Library also confirms that this particular marking was not used during the Eisenhower Administration.” Both statements are false. TSR is used on the Cutler-Twining memo. Here is a quote from the large volume published by the General Accounting Office reviewing all their efforts to find Roswell related documents for NM Congressman Steven Schiff: “December 7, 1994 … reviewed records pertaining to the air Force’s atomic energy and certain mission and weapons requirements. These files are classified up to and including TOP SECRET … period covered by these records was from 1948-1956. There was no mention of the Roswell Incident … [I]n several instances we noted the classification Top Secret Restricted used on several documents. This is mentioned because in the past references to this classification (Majestic 12) we were told that it was not used during this period.”

The Eisenhower Presidential Library had also LIED (again innocently) when they had claimed that all onionskin carbon copies of Robert Cutler’s memos were done on onionskin with an Eagle Watermark. This statement was changed after I had pointed out to an archivist a number of carbons done on other onion skin paper. The Cutler-Twining memo of July 14, 1954 was done on Dictation Onionskin, manufactured only in bid lots between the early 1950s and the early 1970s. I have discussed the MJ-12 research in Refs. 3 and 4.

BLUE BOOK LIES

Much less innocent was the LIE told by Secretary of the US Air Force, Donald Quarles, on October 25, 1955, as quoted in an official press release about a large study concerning UFOs. “On the basis of this study, we believe that no objects such as those popularly described as flying saucers have overflown the United States. I feel certain that even the Unknown 3% could have been explained as conventional phenomena or illusions if more complete observational data had been obtained.” That the two supposedly factual statements (3% Unknowns, incomplete observation data), are bald faced LIES is easily demonstrated by this table where the data are compiled from “the study” whose title was NOT given in the press release (“Project Blue Book Special Report No. 14,” Ref. 5) and which was not distributed, though the press release got very wide coverage.

Note that the UNKNOWNS, rather than making up 3% of the 3201 sightings investigated, comprised 21.5% and that there was a completely separate category “INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION.” The definitions are as follows:

UNKNOWN This designation in the identification code was assigned to those reports of sightings wherein the description of the object and its maneuvers could not be fitted to the pattern of any known object or phenomenon.

INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION The identification category was assigned to a report when upon final consideration there was some essential item of information missing…. It is emphasized that this category was not used as a convenient way to dispose of what might be called poor unknowns.”

Here is the quality distribution of the same 3201 sightings. Note especially that the better the quality of the sighting the MORE likely to be listed as an UNKNOWN. A statistical comparison between UNKNOWNS and KNOWNS showed that the probability that the UNKNOWNS were just missed KNOWNS was less than 1%.

It should further be noted that the press release not only didn’t mention the title (surely some reporter would have asked what happened to the other thirteen reports) but did not mention who did the work, namely Battelle Memorial Institute (a very highly respected Research and Development Organization) in Columbus, Ohio. Apparently the press never asked about either the title or the organization. Amazingly, the three-page summary that was released with the press release gave none of the information in the more than 240 charts, tables, graphs and maps that are in the report. Here was a Cosmic Watergate totally ignored by the media.

Another typical Government UFO LIE was uttered by Dr. Donald Menzel, a professor of Astronomy at Harvard. However, I had discovered in his papers at the Harvard Archives after receiving the required permission from three different people to view them, that he had a TOP SECRET Ultra clearance with the CIA and a very long history of work for the National Security Agency, the CIA, and many other companies. He said in Physics Today “All the non-explained sightings are from poor observers.” Menzel was earning his pay as a member of Majestic 12.

I should also point out that subsequent annual USAF Project Blue Book Press releases consistently LIED by using a sneaky tactic of not including those cases still under investigation at the end of the year in their annual tabulation and by suddenly deciding that any one-witness UNKNOWN would have to be dumped in the Insufficient Information category, no matter how competent the witness. Obviously sightings that are still under investigation at the end of the year are more likely to be Unexplainable than those quickly identified. Testimony from one witness has been used to provide the death penalty for a convicted murderer. When the numbers are put back in the tabulations, again the percentage of UNKNOWNS was around 20%. Anybody searching for a cancer cure would be delighted if 20% of the drugs being tested actually did much more good than harm. Anybody with cancer would probably be satisfied if one drug worked.

Note especially General Bolender’s comment above about sightings which could effect National Security, not being a part of the Blue Book system.

MORE AIR FORCE UFO LIES

Here are three claims from an August 25, 1993 letter from USAF Lt. Colonel Thomas W. Shubert, Congressional Inquiry Division, Office of Legislative Liaison, to Senator Patty Murray (of Washington State) who had asked about UFOs and Roswell for a constituent. The entire letter and my five-page rebuttal are in TOP SECRET MAJIC (Ref. 6). The same language (and misleading LIES) has been used since 1969.

LIE 1. “No UFO reported, investigated and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security.”

Again note Bolender’s claims about sightings which could effect national security. Furthermore note that if any of the three noted functions was performed by somebody else … CIA, DIA, NSA, NRO, MAJESTIC 12, etc., THE STATEMENT WOULD BE TRUE AND TOTALLY MEANINGLESS. Some recently obtained newspaper clippings from 1952 also clearly indicate that UFOs were considered a threat to national security. Frank Feschino Jr. (author of The Braxton County Monster: Coverup of the Flatwoods Monster Revealed for which I wrote the foreword and epilog—Ref. 7, 2004) and I had been searching through volumes of old sources such as The UFO Evidence, books by Donald Keyhoe and H. Wilkins, the Blue Book unknowns, and clipping collections of such outstanding researchers as Dr. David Rudiak and Barry Greenwood. We turned up such headlines as “Air Force Orders Jet Pilots to Shoot Down Flying Saucers if They Refuse to Land.” Lt. Col Moncel Monte, an Air Force Information officer, is quoted:

“The jet pilots are and have been under orders to investigate unidentified objects and to shoot them down if they can’t talk them down,” [Seattle Post Intelligencer, July 29, 1952 page 1]. Here is another: “Jets told to Shoot Down Flying Discs,” [Fall River, Massachusetts, Herald News, July 29, 1952]…. “Jet pilots are operating under 24 hour alert to challenge the mysterious objects and to ‘shoot them down’ if they ignore orders to land.” I was particularly interested in a clipping from the Louisville Courier, July 30, 1952, in which Major General Roger Ramey (same man connected with Roswell), now Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force Staff for operations, “told the news conference that interceptor planes have raced aloft several hundred times as a result of reported sightings of unidentified objects. He said that was just standard procedure.”

Normally aircraft don’t get scrambled to chase and shoot down unknowns in the sky unless the unknowns are considered a threat to our national security. Some people had doubted that there were dogfights between UFOs and our interceptors as Frank had suggested in the book. We found many examples of just that. I have over the years heard six accounts of more fighter planes going after a UFO than coming back from the chase. I believe we will find many more such accounts especially after noting how many military aircraft “accidents” there were in the 1951-1954 time frame and how many aircraft either crashed or disappeared on “routine training” missions. Some of the pilots had flown more than a hundred combat missions in Korea or during WW 2. It might be useful to point out that, while the penguins in Antarctica are definitely not a threat to the security of the United States, they are certainly real.

2. Colonel Shubert’s second claim, another LIE, was “There has been no evidence submitted to, or discovered by the Air Force that sightings categorized as “UNIDENTIFIED” represent technological developments or principles beyond the range of present day scientific knowledge.” In other words, we can imagine all sorts of technology such as the ability to use a silent round magnetoaerodynamic device to make right angle turns, move at very high speed horizontally and to hover. We just haven’t done it yet. And what if the evidence was submitted to Majestic 12 or the CIA, DIA, NRO, NSA instead of the Air Force? Furthermore, the use of fusion rockets for deep space travel is not beyond the range of present scientific knowledge. I worked on fusion rockets at Aerojet General Nucleonics in the early 1960s. To the best of my knowledge, we haven’t built any full size systems yet.

We have operated a number of nuclear fission rockets on the ground similar, for example, to the NRX A-6 nuclear rocket engine built by Westinghouse Astronuclear Lab in 1968 and on which I worked. I don’t think we have operated any in space. Of course this also ignores the very special characteristics of the wreckage found at the Roswell crash site … extraordinarily light weight and strong metal, foil that could be folded over many times and would open on its own and could not be torn….

3. Colonel Shubert’s third LIE to Senator Murray: “There has been no evidence indicating that sightings categorized as unidentified are extraterrestrial vehicles.” Really? So manufactured objects flying under intelligent control performing extraordinary maneuvers as observed all over the world both in the air and, as noted by researcher Ted Phillips, on the ground (more than 3000 Physical Trace cases in 90 countries) are not of ET origin? What if they are categorized as Interstellar Alien Craft? What can be said about the wreckage and bodies recovered in New Mexico in July, 1947 as described in Crash at Corona (Ref.8 )? Could we Earthlings in 1947 really make wreckage with the unusual characteristics described by rancher Brazel and the intelligence officer for the only atomic bombing group in the world?

Another false statement from Colonel Shubert to Senator Murray (I would call it either a LIE or an admission of total ignorance): “We are not aware that any other government department or agency other than the National Archives possesses any records pertaining to UFOs.” I guess he is claiming that no navy sailors or marines or army, navy, marine pilots have seen or chased UFOs and that the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc, etc, have no UFO files. I guess ignorance is bliss. John Greenewald’s “Black Vault” web site contains many thousands of documents from agencies other than the USAF such as the FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, Department of State etc….

FBI LIES

Here is a statement (February 22, 1972) from J. Edgar Hoover, the longtime head of the FBI: “The investigation of UFOs is not and never has been a matter within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBI.”

As noted in my movie UFOS ARE Real and in the book UFO-FBI Connection (Ref. 9) by Dr. Bruce Maccabee, Hoover was able to obtain more than 1600 pages of FBI files about UFOs back in the late 1970s. Nick Redfern in his book The F.B.I. Files: The FBI’s UFO TOP SECRETS EXPOSED (Ref.10.) also notes FBI involvement in detail. Even Colonel Weaver quoted from an FBI memo about Roswell though in a grossly misleading fashion. How about the CIA? Is Colonel Shubert really unaware that a suit brought against the CIA by Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (back in the 1970s) brought forth 900 pages of UFO material (after LIES that they had nothing) and a list of 57 documents from several other agencies including the State Department and the Defense Intelligence Agency? Eighteen of the documents listed were from the National Security Agency, which after considerable prodding from the courts as described above “released” 160 of its own UFO documents. They were almost entirely whited out.

There is also a funny story about the FBI and UFOs. I had written back in 1988 to both the CIA and FBI, under Freedom of Information and the Privacy Act, for any and all files they had on me. I provided my full name, Stanton Terry Friedman, date and place of birth, the fact that I had a Q security clearance from 1956 until 1970, etc. I know from talking to friends that had been interrogated by the FBI for my initial clearance and renewals five and ten years later, that the FBI had conducted the investigations. However, the FBI wrote saying they had no file on me. A LIE. Then the CIA responded that all they had on me was a negative name check request from the FBI and gave the file number. I sent a copy of the small CIA response to the FBI and asked that they recheck their files.

They responded that indeed they did have a file, but it was classified. I asked how big the file was and at what level it was classified (I doubt if it was TOP SECRET RESTRICTED like the Cutler-Twining memo). They responded saying that both the size and level of classification of my file were classified. Eventually Larry Bryant, with my permission, was able to get a small portion of my file. The passport records were noted. At one point it appears as though they thought Stanton was Terry’s brother! It is hard to believe that they are totally incompetent … just arrogant in thinking they can get away with LYING.

CIA UFO LIES

The CIA, not surprisingly, has also LIED. When they were first approached by CAUS for UFO documents, they claimed their only involvement with UFOs had been in the Robertson Panel of 1953 and that they had no other UFO documents. Their 900 pages of released UFO documents (none of it classified higher than secret) proved that was a LIE. When the NSA finally did a court-ordered search, not only did they find their own 160 old UFO documents, but they also found 23 more from the CIA, which somehow hadn’t found them in its court-ordered search.

In other words the CIA LIED to a federal court judge. It took me two years to get nine of those (they’re supposed to provide FOIA responses in ten working days). They were unclassified English translations of Eastern European newspaper articles about UFOs. It took another three years in response to my appeal to get four more very heavily censored CIA TOP SECRET Code word UFO documents. On two, one could read only eight words that weren’t blacked out. One said “DENY in TOTO!” I am convinced that the CIA also LIED when they claimed they had nothing in response to an FOIA request from me for any information related to four national security briefings provided to President Elect Dwight Eisenhower by DCI Walter B. Smith between November 4, 1952, and January 9, 1953.

I had given the CIA dates and times of two of the briefings and a copy of the letter from Smith to President Truman describing that he had kept Ike abreast of national security matters. The CIA in response to my appeal said they still had nothing. It is impossible for me to believe there was no record of four such high level briefings which we know took place according to a letter found at the Truman Library. They LIED.

There were also a number of LIES in a paper by CIA Historian Gerald Haines in 1997, “CIA’s Role in the Study of UFOs.” For example, it was stated that the U-2 and Oxcart (Spy Plane) projects were responsible for over half of the UFO sightings from the late 1950s and 1960s. Dr. Bruce Maccabee has checked the statistics and there was no increase when they started flying. Surely these high altitude aircraft were never observed to appear to be round, able to hover, to move straight up and down, to make right angle turns all without noise or visible external engines or wings or to land and take off vertically as so many UFOs can. Haines said the first wave of UFO sightings was in 1947. Sweden had a huge wave in 1946.

Haines says there are no original MJ-12 documents. He LIED. The Cutler Twining memo is at the National Archives. It is stated that 57 UFO documents were withheld because of national security and sources and methods. LIE. They were withheld because they originated from other agencies. Haines states “most scientists dismissed flying saucers as a quaint part of the 1950s and 1960s….” He provides no data. Polls taken for more than 30 years have shown that the greater the education the MORE likely to accept UFO reality. Two polls of engineers and scientists involved in research and development activities showed that more than 60% of those who expressed an opinion said they were likely real.

The NAVY has LIED in claiming they have no information on UFOs, even after I sent a formerly TOP SECRET UFO report by the Navy and the Air Force. They found it interesting, but they still had nothing!

An interesting LIE illustrates the need for cover up of TOP SECRET data in documents having a lower classification. USAAF General Nathan F. Twining was commanding officer of the Air Materiel Command in July, 1947. According to his flight log, which I found in his papers at the Library of Congress Manuscript Division, as confirmed by the flight log of his pilot, which I was allowed to copy, he spent the week of July 7-11, 1947 in New Mexico and had obviously been tasked to look into UFOs.

In his famous letter of September 23, 1947, to the Commanding General of Army Air Forces, he stated “Due consideration must be given to the following: … (2) The lack of physical evidence in the shape of crash recovered exhibits which would undeniably prove the existence of these objects.”

Many have claimed that this statement proves that no alien craft wreckage had been found in New Mexico in July. They ignore the fact that this letter had been only classified SECRET. Clearly crash wreckage would have been TOP SECRET Code word (note the NSA and CIA TS Code word UFO documents and an FBI memo claiming that the Air Force and Navy considered the subject of UFOs TOP SECRET). TOP SECRET material cannot be referenced in SECRET documents. Twining went on to be Chief of Staff of the USAF and then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He certainly deserved his spot on Operation Majestic 12.

I by no means intend to imply that only government officials or employees lie about UFOs. Debunkers have often made false claims. A number of so called whistleblowers have lied repeatedly about their backgrounds. These include Robert Scott Lazar, who is not a scientist, did not get degrees from MIT or Caltech, did not work for Los Alamos (he worked for a subcontractor), did not figure out how saucers work, did not steal any element 114 or 115. Frank Kaufmann was not a Roswell witness. Guy Kirkwood, a.k.a. Mel Noel, was not an Air Force pilot who took pictures of UFOs from the air. Michael Wolf Kruvant had none of the six degrees he claimed, was not a colonel/pilot in the Air Force or a consultant to MJ-12. Lt. Colonel Philip Corso was not a member of the National Security Council, etc. etc.

One can understand lying to really protect national security such as was done after the successful Atomic Bomb test in New Mexico July 16, 1945, with a story that an ammunition dump had blown up and nobody was injured. But with all the (False) claims that UFOs are no threat to the security of the USA, how can they continue to lie?

If they are a threat, don’t we as citizens of a democracy have the right to know? I, for one, don’t want technical data—such as could be used by Osama Ben Laden, or Iran, or North Korea for military purposes—to be put out on the table. I do think it is of extraordinary importance for the future of this planet that we recognize we are NOT alone. We all on this planet do have something in common much as we hate to admit it. We all are Earthlings. It is time we started acting like it.

Updated - May 14, 2009 Albuquerque, New Mexico - Continuing in Part 8 with Linda Moulton Howe’s 1983 to 1987 High Strangeness file notes about EBENs and other non-human entities. The following are interview notes I wrote from a 1984 discussion with an intelligence source.

Is it true there have been violent armed exchanges between our military and non-human entities?

Yes, I have personally had a briefing with MJ-4, an expert on the different alien types, about military actions with aliens in Ohio and South Dakota.

Why would advanced and sophisticated non-human entities have any respect for or problem encountering our human military?

Sometimes we get the impression that craft are deliberately allowed to crash or be shot down by us so we can get our hands on it, but some of the technology we have retrieved has sent us down red herring paths that wasted a lot of our time. Tricky business. I often think of a cat playing with a mouse. Are the EBENs really trying to help us humans? Or are their ‘gifts’ really Trojan Horses designed to pull the rug out from under us technologically - maybe to slow us down because of their monitoring projects on Earth. I don’t think the EBENs want to war with humans flying around in airplanes!

Is there an agreement between MJ-12 authorities and the Tall Blonds? Or Greys? Or humanoid reptilians? about global animal mutilations? If DNA from animal mutilations is being used to create cloned body containers for various alien missions on Earth, could that cloning technology be used to literally take over Earth?

The Tall Blonds are not in any agreement that I know about. They are generally a mystery to most everyone I have worked with and have caused us problems so we have been forced to contact the Greys for help. I don’t really understand the exact relationship between the Tall Blonds and various Grey types, but I don’t think they are friendly.

MJ-12 and the USAF keep track of the Tall Blonds by tracking them through contact with EBENs to some extent. The EBENs can communicate with the Tall Blonds, but the Tall Blonds do not spend much time in direct communication with anyone, even though they are supposed to be able to speak English. Verbal speaking is something the EBENs cannot do because they don’t have a larynx like humans do. But the Tall Blonds can talk when they want to, which is not very often. Telepathy seems to be the communication of choice of both the Tall Blonds and EBENs.

Is the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) now the control center for MJ-12?

It’s split between DIA and NSA (National Security Agency).

How often do MJ-12 authorities get involved in human abduction cases?

I’m not sure, but I do know there are cases that have never been public, like one in Wright, Wyoming, in 1974. A deputy sheriff was picked up by a UFO and two days later was put down in Burlington, Vermont. Don’t think anyone knows why, including that law officer.

Where was the deputy examined by MJ-12 agents?

A USAF hospital and I think it was in Plattsburgh, New York.

What does MJ-12 know about the Bermuda Triangle?

MJ-12 and USAF think the Tall Blonds had, or still have, an underwater base there, which is responsible for the magnetic anomalies that cause ships and people to disappear. One of the mysteries is which was here on Earth first - the Tall Blonds? Or the EBENs? Or did they end up here because they were at war with each other? We think that the Tall Blonds have long used the largest part of the Earth to cover their bases - what I mean is, underneath the oceans and seas and lakes. The EBENs are more underground, not underwater, as far as I know.

Do the EBENs really try to keep check on the Tall Blonds for the U. S. government?!

When the EBENs are here. That’s what worries everyone - what happens if the EBENs are not around? Would the Tall Blonds try to take over? I don’t know what the 300 Year War was about that supposedly happened between the Tall Blonds and EBENs. If we understood the truth there, we’d probably understand a lot more about why the two types are here on Earth now.

When was that 300 Year War supposed to be?

5,000 years ago, having something to do with the time of Mesopotamia.

If the Tall Blonds and EBENs ended their long war and are in some kind of truce, why do the Tall Blonds still interact with Earth where the EBENs are, too?

All I know is that the Ebe at Los Alamos told the USAF Captain: ‘Everything the Tall Blonds do, they do for a reason.’ MJ-12 thinks the people the Tall Blonds abduct, like Travis Walton, were chosen at birth in some kind of monitoring scheme from birth to death. Some even think there is monitoring before birth and after death, but I’m not sure I know what that means.

Are the Tall Blonds afraid of going to war again with the EBENs?

I don’t know. But I do know that before the Falkland Islands war, there was intense UFO activity there and an EBEN group rescued a human from the Tall Blonds. Two military men were in the process of being abducted by a Tall Blond craft when three EBEN craft appeared above the Tall Blond craft. Eyewitnesses said it looked as if the EBEN craft forced the Tall Blond craft to land.

Two EBEN craft landed and one stayed above the scene protectively, or ready to take offensive action? Out of the Tall Blond craft walked a tall blond being. Out of the EBEN craft came two short EBENs. The three beings met and appeared to communicate while military personnel watched. Then the Tall Blond being and the craft left. The EBENs came to the military eyewitnesses and communicated telepathically: ‘They will not harm you any more.’

The Falkland Islands military personnel asked, ‘Who are you?’ The EBENs answered, ‘We are your protectors.’

Some people in the government think the EBENs are our allies. Others think they lie to us. Maybe they all lie to us? It’s really difficult when no human can get an honest and objective view of beings from somewhere else in the universe - especially when the EBENs and Tall Blonds both are involved in animal mutilations and human abductions. That means they are getting genetic material from Earth - so, what are they doing with it exactly? That’s where the cloning technology to make body containers for all kinds of different missions comes in. MJ-12’s greatest concern is who is walking around on this planet in a human body, but is not really human.

Paul Bennewitz is convinced from the Cimarron case in New Mexico that those tall humanoids in charge of the short, grey ones, were mutilating animals in order to put blood in a vat as liquid sustenance for some kind of beings there. [ See 040306 Earthfiles.]

That’s true. Probably part of the reason for the E. T. mutilation of animals around the world is literally for food. But there’s more going on because genes are harvested from Earth life the way we grow crops to harvest. Paul Bennewitz did stumble into Project SIGMA - our communication efforts with the EBENs out of an NSA facility near Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque.

MJ-12 couldn’t allow Bennewitz to reach the public and media with credible information, which is what he was trying to do. Problem was, Bennewitz went to Kirtland first with his data! Set off alarm bells all over the place. So, a sophisticated misinformation campaign was organized to target Paul Bennewitz. One of the government’s methods was to plant phony photographs of stuff on Archuleta Mesa near Dulce so that Bennewitz would talk about what counterintel operatives knew was phony. That’s when they had Bennewitz in a noose and really kind of drove him over the edge.

The CIA got involved, too, by moving the mother, Cindy, to a safe house in Los Angeles to get her away from the aliens after she and her young son were abducted from Cimarron.

How often does Project SIGMA contact the EBENs and Tall Blonds?

We didn’t have regular contact until around 1978 and that’s been mostly with the EBENs. We can send out a certain hertz frequency trying to make contact, but the EBENs have to initiate contact back to us. It’s not like we can dial them up on a phone! The Tall Blonds are even more difficult. Occasionally, the Blonds will initiate contact for whatever reason, but they are entirely unpredictable.

Have any of the alien groups tried to land where you have Project SIGMA broadcasting contact frequencies?

Not that I know, but it’s really classified.

People in the human abduction syndrome also describe encounters with shorter blond-haired beings. Is there a genetic link between the Tall Blonds that have light blue eyes and the shorter blonds that can have yellow-gold eyes, sort of like the Greeks have had yellow eyes?

All I know is that the Tall Blonds are more anatomically like us than the EBENs. EBENs have no voice box. The Oriental race on Earth is most similar to the EBENs culturally and physically. The Tall Blonds do have a voice box, but don’t always choose to communicate verbally, or in English.

Are Earth’s five races related to five different non-human groups that have all done genetic manipulation of already-evolving primates on this planet?

From what I understand from MJ-4, this whole planet is some kind of cultural experiment by the EBENs and that experiment includes the five different Homo sapiens sapiens races.

How many anthro-political experiments are going on with humans?

Unknown, really. EBENs might have started it, but there have been lots of non-human visitors to Earth and that’s a fact!

Charles Mallett, Silent Circle Information Center, Calne, Wiltshire, England: “I don’t know who would have done this. All I can say really is about the physical traces we saw in the formation on the morning of May 4, 2009, and the plants seemed to have been systematically trampled throughout the entire formation, especially in the central avenues. The pattern is so big it seems like it would have taken like ten people over at least an hour to cause that much vicious damage. It looked like a formation after a week old that had been trampled by several busloads of visitors, but in a systematic way.

YOU’RE SUGGESTING IT WAS A RAINY NIGHT AND THAT THE MECHANICAL DAMAGE CAME AFTER SOMETHING TRULY MYSTERIOUS PUT THE PATTERN DOWN?

Yes, between 6 and 7 AM. I believe that Clatford formation was a genuine event and the damage noted inside of it around 11 AM on the first day of May 4, 2009, was added about 5 to 6 hours prior to my visit, which means the damage occurred around 6 to 7 AM, May 4.

Long History of Military Helicopters
Over Crop Formations

IT IS NOT THE SIGNATURE OF A TEAM SATAN OR ANY OF THE HOAXERS TO LEAVE A FORMATION COMPLETELY TRASHED RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING. IF THEY HAD BEEN HOAXING THIS, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUBTLE, RIGHT?

I would imagine so. It comes across as damage that was very intentional, systematic, more or less all over the formation to create an impression of hoax. I’ve been to many formations very early in the morning where all of a sudden, these military-type helicopters that you and I and others have seen over the years just suddenly show up. The helicopters fly right up to the new crop formation like on a mission and fly around them and look at them and then fly back the way they came. Clearly the pilot is being vectored into a location from a monitoring source.

I’ve also found pen torches obviously placed on plants in formations before. I practically saw somebody once putting a pen torch in the middle of a circle in daylight. Back in 2002, I was with a Norwegian researcher and we went to a brand new formation very early in the morning and we found a pen torch. As we arrived, we actually saw somebody exiting the field in a very suspicious manner.

We looked all around that formation and by the time we left, we decided it was a really genuine formation. Even more curious, by lunch time a visitor to the formation found another pen torch in the middle of the same formation that was added after we had been there! Other strange stuff Someone has used to salt crop formations with false hoax-artifacts are voodoo dolls and crucifixes, I guess to create a weird effect and doubt.

Clatford Is Unprecedented Size in History
of Spring Oilseed Rape Crop Formations

Just in sheer physical terms, Clatford is unprecedented size in history of spring oilseed rape crop formations. This is by far the largest formation in oilseed rape. For that to happen at the first of May is really unusual and in the context of the other oilseed rape formations this 2009 season, it’s all been pretty impressive, especially Morgan’s Hill at 300 feet wide and Avebury at 290 feet wide. These have been really amazing designs that have no physical explanation for their presence whatsoever. And Clatford is a major anomaly and huge.

IN 5-FOOT-TALL RAPE!

Yes, pretty high, up to my shoulders, and really dense. It was a real tangle to get through. At first, I went up the wrong tramline and had to wade through it to get to the right tramline. It was very difficult to move in because the tops are all tangling together. The flowering oilseed rape flowers are coming to their peak and the plants are top heavy and starting to meld together and very difficult to walk through. Even the tramlines have plants falling into themselves, so I was really covered in yellow pollen to a serious degree when I left the field.

“Sinister Situation”?

“The basic understanding I have from pretty reliable sources
is that elements of the British government, or shadow government or special agencies in the M.O.D., are well aware that the crop circles are real, that the government is monitoring them and making sure that the stories
that go out into the media are as silly as possible.”

It’s kind of a sinister situation in a way. I’ve had experiences where I’ve been asleep in a crop circle and been awakened at 6 AM by military helicopters that have been right on top of me only 50 or 60 feet above me. They were probably just as surprised as I was to see them. But they are clearly paying attention to crop formations.

My information is from conversations I’ve had with people who have worked for the military and Ministry of Defence (M.O.D.) in various capacities. The basic understanding I have from pretty reliable sources is that elements of the British government, or shadow government or special agencies in the M.O.D., are well aware that the crop circles are real, that the government is monitoring them and making sure that the stories that go out into the media are as silly as possible.

There are many elements about this Clatford pattern that do not make sense. I mean, why wouldn’t the ones who caused the damage – why not completely wreck the whole thing – send a tractor to wreck the entire field, rather than go in the field and break all the plants so it still looks perfect from the air?

It’s like Somebody wants the public and media to believe that the Clatford crop circle was made by people, but I don’t think so.”

Beyond Charles Mallett’s investigation in the first morning that the Clatford pattern was reported, a Cheltenham, England resident named Andrew Pyrka visited in the late day to twilight hours and was surprised to see faintly glowing orbs in a couple of his images. “The biggest formation of the year by far. This giant of a formation is approx. quarter of a mile long. Standing at the edge of the field - Manton or Clatford side - you can not see it from either end of the field. Approx 50 meters into the field from Clatford side, the formation becomes visible.

As always the perfection is clearly visible throughout the entire formation with swirls and twists everywhere you look. The characteristics what we are familiar with are present in every nook and cranny of the formation A clear construction line is also visible with plants showing a parting left to right as if something came through the centre forcing the plant to collapse in opposite directions. When standing at any point within - you can only see the nearest design - the rest is not visible at all.
