Obama starting to hit the road to sell economic plan, get a break from White House By BEN FELLER 7:12 PM CST, February 6, 2009 WASHINGTON (AP) It's time to get out.
Barack Obama, who has spent most of his nascent presidency in the White House compound, is shifting into travel mode.
The rundown: Saturday and Sunday at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland; Monday in Indiana and Tuesday in Florida for economic events; Thursday in Illinois to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday; and then Valentine's Day weekend with his wife, Michelle, at home in Chicago.
One motivation is for Obama to break free of the Washington debate and sell his economic plan among the people it is designed to help. The other is for the president simply to get away from the White House, the gated address that has quickly become his office and his family's home.

I should think it would be more difficult to smoke on the road, what with constant public appearances and traveling press. I’m pretty sure he already has a smoking room in the White House someplace. But you may be right. Trying to stop smoking while under intense pressure is probably pretty difficult. It may help account for his recent testiness, although he was crankly during the campaign also.
I suspect part of the reason is to relieve the pressure so Obama doesn’t flip off the public during one of his speeches.

Say what you will about Benito Mussolini — he was a genuine intellectual and he got the job done. Our current president isn’t fit to carry il Duce’s fasces.

I wonder if its time to start a pool on when this guy is going to have a meltdown. When he begins to wander the halls of the White House looking for portraits to talk to, won't be no homies.

Just judging from the content of his message, he has given up on the strategy of channeling Franklin Roosevelt and has now gone to channeling Jimmy Carter.

Too much like REAL work ... actually (gasp!) having to make consequential decisions, and voting PRESENT is no longer an option.

Sure ... Il Duce was smart. He was still a socialist totalitarian SOB with really poor taste in friends, and got what he deserved.
Our present leader, Il Douche, is dumber than a box of rocks.

I talked to relatives in KY yesterday and they have been without electricity since the ice storm hit and no end in sight. They have received no cash handouts or FEMA lodging arrangements and are staying in their home because of very serious disabilities that would be extremely difficult to accommodate in public shelters. Katrina in 85 degree weather was easy pickings for the Bush hating media and OPRA circus to exploit. Kentucky in freezing temperatures with a democrat President in DC sweating in a hot house office is not on the same MSM radar.

Barack Obama, who has spent most of his nascent presidency in the White House compound, is shifting into travel mode. That's because this idiot doesn't KNOW anything other than campaign mode, can't take the pressure and is in general, more interested in the perks of office than actually DOING anything.
That's all I can say; anything more would get me banned.

Finally something he and I can agree on, I too am tired of he and Michelle being in the White House.
