Obama starting to hit the road to sell economic plan, get a break from White House By BEN FELLER 7:12 PM CST, February 6, 2009 WASHINGTON (AP) — It's time to get out.

Barack Obama, who has spent most of his nascent presidency in the White House compound, is shifting into travel mode.

The rundown: Saturday and Sunday at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland; Monday in Indiana and Tuesday in Florida for economic events; Thursday in Illinois to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday; and then Valentine's Day weekend with his wife, Michelle, at home in Chicago.

One motivation is for Obama to break free of the Washington debate and sell his economic plan among the people it is designed to help. The other is for the president simply to get away from the White House, the gated address that has quickly become his office and his family's home.

The president is going to be a job absentee. Well, with THIS president, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

“He just misses being a “rock star.” He misses seeing all of the adoration and worship of his fans. The narcissist needs a fix.”

It is a little soon, but possibly he should look into a bunker.

Boy, I’ll tell ya...I want a job that three weeks after my start date, I can tell my employer, “This is a little harder than I thought. I’m taking the next week off.”

I have convinced myself that I am glad that McCain lost. I am afraid that he would have only encouraged the typical RINO behavior that we have been accustomed to. I can’t wait to see the election results when everyone sees how incapable this batch of Democrats are. Or Democrats in general to put it more broadly. They seem very incapable when they are put in the spotlight and have nothing to complain about as far as undivided government goes.

I wonder if this will be another secretly “medicated” president like Kennedy. I know there are a lot of Canadian pharmacies out there.

Obama is just getting out of the kitchen. Like any narcissist he needs a constant flow of adulation and worship or he goes crazy. If everytime he turns around someone demands things of him, he must be getting pretty low on the adultation part. Time to get him away from the newspapers and media and talk radio and convince him again that he is “god”.

Simple explanation: he’s a smoker. He can’t easily smoke in the White House the way he can when he is on the road.

I doubt he has ever been faced with a situation where you give pretty speeches, then have the power to put those promises into effect and yet has to face the consequences. His entire career has been talking others into doing the dirty work and now that he is expected to campaign for his bills, or fulfill promises, this is not what he signed up for. The dog has caught the car and doesn’t know what to do with it.

That’s what this “town hall” meeting is all about.

Is his nose stuck in the up position, he looks like a snob every time I see him.

That pose always reminds me of Benito Mussolini.

Tightly controlled town hall meetings, no doubt. No unfair questions about his performance.

And I ask you, how many people do a good job on their FIRST job?

Most folks that I know, actually ...

Of course, their FIRST job is "entry level" ... and they're quite young when they do it. There are many good reasons why we don't hire "fresh outs" for project leaders ...

After three weeks on the job, 0bama already needs a vacation? He feels the walls closing in on him at The White House, so he needs to go back to his Tony Rezko-sponsored home in Chicago.

He is being recalled for further briefings from his true masters.
