Republican disciplinary action: Snowe, Specter, Collins????
02/07/2009 | montesquieu

I just had a question to all those disgusted with Rinos and specifically what happened today on the stimulus bill. If Specter, Collins and Snowe do vote with Democrats on such a reprehensible bill, should there be any disciplinary action?

Thoughts? Or maybe a good place to vent, at least?

My idea as I was talking to my hubby today, in light of this dire situation, Specter, Snowe and Collins should be stripped of any boards, special committees or other leadership positions within the party. Also, feel that if they vote with Dems on this bill, they should not be able to run in future elections as Republicans.

There won’t be any disciplinary action. It’s the Senate after all.

I mean look at Joe Lieberman what he was able to do. How much the MoveOners hated him in the heat of a Presidential campaign and the most they could do was ask him not to attend strategy sessions.

Snowe and Specter get away with it again.

I totally agree with you. Maybe it’s a good time to set a new precedent. I think I may write Michael Steele and McConnell and tell them that we do not need to continue to let these Rinos get away with this. They need to understand there will be some kind of action for their betrayal.

Agreed. Many Republicans seemed to grow some testicular fortitude lately, and hopefully some of it remains so that we can punish those who hurt America and the party by siding with the porkulus.

Yep, we definitely need more testosterone within the party!! We’ve been a bunch of whimps. Look, Boxer and Feinstein are more ballsy than all our men put together!!! LOL

I’m encouraged that M. Steele ran off all the Rinos at the RNC. I hope we have a gutzy bunch!!!

Send letters to newspapers in their home states expressing your disgust:

Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania:

Sen. Olympia Snowe and Sen. Susan Collins, both of Maine:

That’s a tough one, because Lieberman has been considering becoming an Independent for a while. He really needs to because I like Lieberman. Actually, wish he would come on over to the GOP. However...I thought it was wrong how they scolded him like a child and paraded him around, but if they had, not sure if he was removed or stripped of responsibilities, I would be ok with that. For me it’s about being RESPECTFUL and dignified.

Democrats or Republicans that don’t hold the party line on a bill like Porkulus should receive discipline. It’s too important.

Writing them and their staff is good. Also, I think the best strategy is to write the state Republican party and copy the letters right on down to the committee chairmen for their counties.

This way you put the heat on the machine that supports them. Along with the papers it is time to turn the people against the RINO machines. THIS is the only way to affect these politicians. Otherwise they are like ticks on a dog, dug in too deep to feel anything else.

Ok. You’re right!! The state party and chairman are good ideas, too. I mean, how would you like to be in that position right now? You know they are a bane to all in the community. I mean, they may be liberal in Maine, but they aren’t stupid.

It’s time for the Republicans to give up the Big Tent. If the Party can’t count on it’s members to support its position on an issue this important, those members who betray the Party should be expelled. Like someone else said, they should not be allowed to run as Republicans. Thay can call themselves Independents, Democrats, Liberals, Socialists, or anything else they want, but they ARE NOT REPUBLICANS.

I recommend shunning. That used to work when people had pride.

They haven’t done it yet... but if they do.. I think they can run as who ever they want to associated themselves with. Now getting money from a party that would be another story.

Specter should not be associated with the republican party or anyone who claims to be conservative or republican.

IMHO that is...

HOW ABOUT THIS???

We all write to Steele and tell him in NO uncertain terms, that IF the RNC supports "SPECTRE" in 2010, we will thereafter, withhold ANY contributions to the party and moreover, he needs to make that public earlier rather than later.

I suggest this EVEN if a DemoRat gets the seat, after all, they could not be any worse than that F'n RINO.

And the same goes for the two far left, libtard, b*tches from Maine!!!

Actually, wish he [Lieberman] would come on over to the GOP.

I respect Lieberman as well but aside from supporting strong US foreign policy, he is still a liberal in every other respect. The GOP is not the right place for him.

No disciplinary action is possible because of the very nature of the Republican Party's structure. It is an open association.

On the other hand, AIP, now the nation's third-largest party based on voter registration, is a closed association. If a member compromises America's principles they can be tossed post haste.

What do these people care what the party does to them. They were elected by people who knew what they were. They have been around a long time their RINO status is well known to their electorate and that electorate places them back in office every election.

That’s exactly right. They know they’re the beneficiaries of a corrupt political system that is based on media, money, and the ignorance of their constituents. Therefore, they do whatever they want.
