Picasa Site of More Modem/Duane Pix

In the early 90s my brother Duane finally got the parrot he wanted for years. The problem was the cash situation was that he either got the bird or a modem for his computer. He got the bird & called it Modem!

It is a one man bird .. well, except for friend his bird friend Ken. The rest of us? Is he indifferent?

NO...

Modem attacks the rest of us! These pix were taken on a visit February 09. You can select slide show & adjust the time for pix viewing. Default is 3 seconds.

So, that must make Modum close to the end of his teens. You sure can see a connection, there. I always wanted a bird - but ended up with furry kids instead of feather’d friends.

Thanks, Dolly! As usual, good pictures!

A Tandem Ride With God

I used to think of God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong, so as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die. He was out there, sort of like a president. I recognized His picture when I saw it, but I didn't really know Him.

But later on, when I met Christ, it seemed as though life was rather like a bike, but it was a tandem bike, and I noticed that He was in the back helping me pedal. I didn't know just when it was He suggested we change, but life has not been the same since I took the back-seat to Christ, my Lord. He makes life exciting. When I had control, I thought I knew the way. It was rather boring, but predictable. It was the shortest distance between two points.

But when He took the lead, He knew delightful long cuts, up mountains, and through rocky places and at break-through speeds; it was all I could do to hang on! Even though it often looked like madness, He said, “Pedal!” I was worried and anxious and asked, “Where are you taking me?” He laughed and didn't answer and I started to learn to trust. I forgot my boring life and entered into adventure. And when I'd say, “I'm scared”, He'd lean back and touch my hand.

He took me to people with gifts that I needed, gifts of healing, acceptance and joy. They gave me their gifts to take on my journey, our journey, my Lord's and mine. And we were off again. He said, “Give the gifts away; they're extra baggage, too much weight.” So I did, to the people we met, and I found in giving I received, and still our burden was light.

I did not trust Him, at first, in control of my life. I thought He'd wreck it, but He knows bike secrets, knows how to make it bend to take sharp corners, jump to clear high rocks, fly to shorten scary passages. And I am learning to shut up and pedal in the strangest places, and I'm beginning to enjoy the view and the cool breeze on my face with my delightful constant companion, Jesus.

And when I'm sure I just can't do any more, He just smiles and says... “Pedal.”

Terence, the ancient Roman Playwright said, “The quarrels of lovers are the renewal of love.”

Yep, they knew it way back then.

Mama Bear, we really do think alike on some things!! And I’m sorry I can’t be here posting in a more timely manner. Yesterday was way busy:o)

The overnight date makes me queasy too. On the date with Molly, they showed the two of them sitting on the bed, then the shutters close. Geee...... I hope he’s a gentleman about it, but for example, he and Jillian drank QUITE A BIT of wine and she seemed ready to “go for it.” That may have explained why she cried for the first time once she was dumped.

I felt bad for her, because she really came alive in NZ, and loves the outdoors the same as he does. I almost felt like he would call her back as she rode away in the limo.

I don’t know why that thought about Molly popped in my head. I was trying to guess what the “shocker” will be.

It may be that he DOES choose Molly and then Melissa freaks out.

From where I was sitting, there was “mucho amor” in Melissa’s eyes. I’m sure he didn’t miss it. Also, imo, Molly has more of a stability factor than Melissa. So, it’s a very tough choice. I like both girls a lot!! I really do.

Melissa is very special. There’s an x-factor there I can’t put a word on, but I think she is a wonderful woman, just beginning to bloom. Is Jason the man who could value her in every way?

Molly also has an independent streak, and I think that appeals to Jason. Although he is affectionate and looking for true love, I think he respects a woman who stands on her own feet. Know what I mean?

And it’s tough that he can’t reveal his feelings. That’s part of the show, as I recall from Trista’s Bachelorette days when she was down to the final two. She kept saying, I can’t reveal my feelings, but I HAVE THEM. You have a point, maybe they do know more off-camera in this regard.

Wonderful Opening Graphic and Music, Billie. Thank you for Opening and Hostessing Today's Thread. Thank you for all you do for Amy's. I appreciate all the little extras that you do. Have a Terrific Tuesday.

Sigh! Since I didn't get back to the thread at all after lunch yesterday, I wanted to answer a few pings before checking into today's posts. :)

Thank you, Amy - you're the best, but since I didn't even get the holidays posted yesterday - you may want to 'fire' me. :)

Out of the two left, who is your pick?

I think I mentioned to you that I made comments in 3,096 but of course you wouldn't want to go looking for that, lol. If I had to choose, it would be Molly. But it's a very tough choice, because I think Melissa ("the little dark haired girl") is very special. I think it comes down to timing for both parties.

Well, in today’s world we say “when husband’s and wive’s or boyfriend/girlfriends argue....the good part is making up! My hubby isn’t around anymore....we really didn’t argue...we just got miffed occasionally and got quiet...I guess you would call it pouting! Didn’t last long. I never did like to argue with hubby over anything!

When I look back now I was a lucky lady having such a good husband. Before he passed, he was sick a couple of years, I did everything possible to take care of him and give him as much happiness as possible. Of course I didn’t realize he would pass when he did either! One never is ready for that....now why am I rattling on so???

The little dark haired girl reminds me of my granddaughter, Ashley except Ashley is younger! My Ashley has that olive complexion (from my husband) and dark hair and eyes!. The other granddaughter is the blonde with fair complexion but also has dark eyes. My husband had the dark eyes and both my sons do....Mine are green!

I wish I knew more about that fairer skinned girl. Just got in too late! If I knew about her personality, I might could say. I did think the darker girl had a cute personality. I have to go look at that post you mentioned.

I honestly am unable to check byte size on this computer, so if it's a problem with this graphic, I will have it pulled. I can manage the pixel size, though.

Well, Lori, I’m a Bachelor ‘newbie’. Listening to you all made me get interested. There’s so much I don’t know but I am into it now. I don’t know all the girls like you all do but there will be another season. The girl he turned down last night...did you all like her or not. Man, was she crying! Its exciting, happy, sad, all those things. Which of these now are you and others pulling for? I have an appointment for a Catscan today so I don’t know when I will get back today.

Oh, the producers love to show the girls crying in the limo after they didn't get a rose. If they've made it past the first two or three eliminations, they all do it - every one of them. Their hearts are broken, because they have such great expectations they will be 'the one' still standing at the end and will get that proposal.

I understand that Lori and yorkie were hoping for Jillian (the one you're talking about that didn't get the rose Monday night) to be the one; Dita's favorite is Molly; I've been leaning towards Melissa for a while now. But, he may have to flip a coin - he says he's honestly falling in love with both of them at the same time.

And then there's DeAnna.....the one who broke his heart last year when HE was among the 25 men vying for HER affection as The Bachelorette, and she chose another after he made it to the final two.

These relationships rarely ever last very long after the show is over, and DeAnna and her chosen one were no different. Now we are being led to believe that she will intervene on the finale and try to persuade Jason that she made a mistake choosing the other one last year, and it's not too late for him to 'take her back'.

You got all that? :) It's all so entertaining - Would you accept the rose? :)
