STUART, Fla. Wildlife officials say two men putting up a fence in Martin County on Floridas east coast fended off and killed a 30-pound bobcat with a hammer.

Something (rabies?) was definitely wrong with this one. Agreed...No self respecting bobcat would be caught dead being killed by a hammer. hehe

The kill does seem to have been justified. Indeed, if the bobcat was rabid then killing it was a mercy.

Well, I’ve had my laugh for the day!
Except I’ve seen a 30 pound bobcat, and it had the nastiest temper of any animal I’ve ever seen. Most DO avoid human contact. The bobcat, though....

Hammers don’t kill. We need to make sure other animals gone wild aren’t allowed access to such hand tools without proper training. I say, license the bobcat before it is allowed to use a hammer or any handtool. What next? A moose with a screwdriver in a bar with my sister? /pregnant question
