You know, this is the sort of thing that could actually make people take up arms. Tyranny seems to be on the march again. Best begin evaluating your neighbors and associates; figure out now who’s a patriot and who might be looking at you over a rifle sight.

or...
Which politicians does the company own?

Hmmm... So it’s sounding like I should add a few cases of mixed pre-AAA ammo to my 401K plan. Seems like it’ll be worth something in 20-30 years, and ammo kept dry and cool has no shelf life expiration.

“5 cents per round is not a huge tax when considering large calibers”

So I take it that you are in favor of a poll tax too?

"Oh please, this will never happen"

I hope you are correct.

But it's only a year ago when the primaries were starting that just the idea of an inexperienced black socialist with questionable citizenship winning the democrat nomination was a big laugh.

And a year ago who would have dreamed that George Bush would initiate a $700 billion dollar handout to the incompetent greedheads on Wall Street?

With the current craziness, irrationality and foaming-at-the-mouth liberalism sweeping the country almost anything is possible.

Words have meaning. It is, as you probably know, not illegal to own a properly licensed machine gun.

Correction:

"It will be considered a violation as severe as owning a machine gun without the correct government authorization."

1. Each state will have to post a $100 million dollar funeral fund for police and citizens who fight this out. 2. this is blatantly against constitutional law without just compensastion (they don’t have enough money to compense me).3. If this passes in each respective state, then it is time to break up the union and start all over. 4. I will fight this with every last penny and breath that I have. 5. I am not a poor person. 6. Good luck New World Order. Your time is coming to an end. You have yet to meet a really pissed off American.

There are millions of people in the USA who DO NOT live in the cities.

What does that have to do with anything? I live in a town of 9600 people. I've lived in a town of over 3 million. TV wasn't important either way. The news/talk radio station that carries Rush Limbaugh was dead air from 6 AM to 8:13 AM. The morning news guy was sick and their wasn't anyone to cover. Nothing like KOGO AM in San Diego with a 100 people running around at all hours.

Not just “taxing” of each round. Your purchase must be recorded, with all your information, and each group of serial numbers tagged to your purchase.

Consider also:

Any vendor that willfully fails to comply with, or falsifies the records required to be kept by this bill is guilty of a public offense punishable by imprisonment not to exceed one year, and a fine of $1,000.
The hassle involved with complying with this will cause WalMart and other stores to simply stop selling ammo. The vendors which remain will raise prices FAR more than the tax, just to compensate for their hassle and risk

Reducing availability of ammo is the real objective.
