Report on the inauguration (vanity)

Many months ago my son came home from school with information on a school trip. It was through the Smithsonian institute and our local high school. A group trip to Washington D.C. to see the sites and witness the inauguration. Although this was long before the election, I figured it would be good for my son as well as some great father/son time, to witness the peaceful transfer of power, irregardless of who won, that our great nation is so well known and envied for.

After the election,I realized that there would be some of the extremist there. It became immediately apparent that this would be mostly extremist while we were shopping for souveners. Everything seemed to be propaganda for the new administration with pictures of Obama and family and slogans like "hope" and "change". Only could find one shirt with a presidential logo and the inauguration date on it with the names of the new president and vice-president.

We got downtown at 6:30 in morning and there was already lots of people trying to navigate the streets. People were cheering and chanting Obama which I had no problem with them celebrating their candidate winning.

On the mall was where the really extremist things started. While watching on the Jumbotron the entrance of Senior Bush, there was a lot of booing and a man next to me told his daughter that he was the father of the devil. When Cheney came on, there was more booing and I overheard another man saying he has no soul. When president Bush came on, still more booing and childish chants of "hey, hey, hey, goodbye."

The ceremony went on like this for the entire time. After the swearing in of the new president and vice-president, these people started to leave and did not even wait to see the poem read or any of the other happenings. These "love the earth" folks left so much trash behind on our National Mall that many were commenting on how bad it was. Everything from blankets to newspapers were laying everywhere. It looked like pictures I have seen taken after Woodstock.

Needless to say, I was shocked by the extremely rude people and lack of any sense of decency that they showed. I was very proud of our group for not joining in with them and actually being shocked by their behavior as well. Many from our group picked up what trash they could and carried it to the nearest trash barrel without being asked. I was very proud of them.

All in all we had a good time and I hope our children learned a lot.

MSNBC ran a split screen, showing President Bush...and the nutcases you were around that were booing and screaming all kinds of insane things.

The only way I know this is I saw it on Fox....(chuckle)

I know one Obama voter who went...was horrified by what he saw....and now regrets his vote. Of course, it’s too late now. So it will be as the years of rule by “the one.” By the time the world wakes up to his agenda, it will be too late.

God Bless you for having the courage to go into that snipers den of Obama Worshippers.

A priest who was interviewed on EWTN yesterday said that the students who he brought were clapping and cheering for President Bush while the others were booing. He said that other people started moving away from their clapping group. He was glad that their group was there to be a witness for truth and decency. I personally would not have been able stomach the whole affair, but am glad that a few brave souls were there to support civility. I cannot believe how rude the leftists were. And then they expect us to kiss up to and support Obama without question.

What I wrote above was only a small portion of what I witnessed. Just about anything you can imagine the most extremist people doing there I actually witnessed and overheard. They were extremely rude and pushy while leaving. Our group of students got seperated many times and we would have to gather them all up again so as not to lose anyone in the city. It was unbelievable that my fellow countrymen would behave in such a way.

The trash on the National Mall was just horrible. Unbelievably disrespectful. Literally stacks of everything immaginable. I was proud of our group for trying to clean what little they could. Our group of students was the only thing that I can report good from the entire event.

I can also tell you that based on things I overheard Mr. King’s dream was not realized. Many people voted for Obama based on the color of his skin and not on his character.

I was deeply saddened by the whole experience. I was however hopeful after seeing our group of young people not join in and seeing their expressions towards the extremist. I waited to see how they would respond and they gave me much hope for our future.

Living in flyover country I never realized how many extremist leftist there are in this country. It was quite an eye opener.

Exactly how far did this go? You say ‘anything you can imagine the most extremist people doing’ yet in the past decade in the area where I now live, there have been arson, mobs, people spraying alcohol all over people, blockading streets, driving vehicles where they don’t belong, blasting music, rioting, public sexual activities, car-flipping, excessive graffiti, and just causing general chaos and disorder and this is when they’re happy for something that’s relatively inconsequential and usually totally apolitical. So, I don’t WANT to know what would happen if they ever got really and truly angry...

Wow, I suppose I should change that to what I could imagine then. I suppose with the police presence and the snipers on the rooftops that they refrained themselves from doing what you talk about. I did hear a lot of talk like you can imagine on DU, trash was unbelievable and even heard a report on tv news that an old lady was pushed from a train platform but was rescued before a train arrived.

I am from a little midwestern town where the most extreme people repeat the standard Dem lies and voice their dislike of president Bush, so this was quite an eyeopener for me.
