Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe they were having that “Scavenger Hunt” b/c they were either looking for their bedspreads and curtains or they were looking for something appropriate for their mother to wear. Or,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe they were looking for some toilet paper.

In the spirit of bipartisan respect, I decline to comment. ;-) Out of respect for my intractable ideals, I will never make a comment regarding the children. In my very hard-headed opinion, they have the right to remain just that — children and private citizens.

Oh my God - are those grapes on the fabric?

No, I think it's supposed to be wisteria. You know, the spring flower....so appropriate for a January day in the National Cathedral

You know the more I look at that dress MO wore to church today, the more I think Aretha’s hat would have made the ensemble complete.

Thanks for the enlarged picture of The Dress, yoiks!

MO appears to be a size or possibly two sizes larger on her bottom half than her top half. She tends to favor clothing her top half in a fitted fashion, binding or wrapping her torso, giving rise to the unfortunate suggestion that she looks like The Mummy, which she does. Then she wears heavily pleated skirts, making her bottom half look ginormous. The boat neck of this new dress emphasizes MO's linebacker shoulders and her abysmal Slouching Towards Gomorrah posture.

The dress appears to be cotton...in the middle of winter? The print looks to be either grape clusters or wisteria, can't tell which. If there wasn't so much black in the print, the dress reminds me of something a little girl might wear to an Easter egg hunt. Black patent leather shoes aren't really a good look for a woman with size 12 boats.

I'm beginning to wonder if MO isn't making herself look so hideous by choice...perhaps to embarrass the country she hates so much?

I had many such “teachers” in school and out. I’ve tried to carry on the “old school” approach with my son and all my son’s friends. I always say, “If I didn’t love you, it wouldn’t make any difference to me. Because I do, get with it!”

I’ll never forget the look of long suffering he gave me as he went out the door in his black suit and top coat for Cotillion. It was as though I’d made him stand naked in the street and walk on hot coals. Just the other night at dinner (some 10 years later), he made reference to Cotillion and how you should place your knife and fork to indicate your plate is ready to be cleared. I thought they’d have to find the smelling salts. ;-)

Agree with you, but a long dress with long sleeves during mid-winter in church would be more appropriate than a "party" dress. Dontchathink?

You're right. But I was pleasantly surprised to see any dress instead of pants.

I don’t see the problem. THey have had 8 years of opportunities for sniping from the outside. Now they have it all, and it’s all on them. And no, I DON’T want him to be successful, I want him to be a miserable failure, and I’m going to do everything I can to that end, not that he isn’t going to manage it all on his own.

Congratulations! I predict this is going to become the largest ping list on FR, a distinction currently held by the DUmmie Funnies. We’re all going to need things to laugh about during the Obamanation, and it looks like MO’s unique fashion sense isn’t goint to let us down.
