I watch sports and some shows with my wife.
When CBS said “hope and change” and showed their emblem with the blue/red Obama poster image, I nearly vomited.

I have not seen Partisans of Vilna but I looked it up and it looks very good so I am buying it at
Amazon. Thanks for the tip.

I already have my evening planned. A good bit of my life I did not own a TV. This has caused me to review my TV watching habits and it is using too much valuable time. This is the perfect opportunity to turn off the tube and get some other things done.

your black flag - a great idea, for the original meaning of it. It would be great to see tens of thousands of them flying for the next few years...
HOWEVER, would have to add a symbol to it - as Muhammad also used a black flag to signify his religion...
maybe add the O’s logo with the red circle/stripe signifying “NO O”. Wonder how long before we'd be hauled in on a hate crimes charge?

I've on a total news blackout for the last week. My daily visit with Rush is the only exception, because I know I'll get it straight from him.
I use the TV to watch hockey, football, Turner Classic Movies, and the Weather Channel babes, and that's it. :)

4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Is it alright to make an idol of a mole? Just kidding, but they live under the earth. All this faux-messiah junk is somewhat depressing. I think tomorrow will be brightened by a good dose of shopping.

I am thinking of 1) going to the movies all day 2) rent a ton of DVDs to watch for 3 days 3) watch reruns of old movies on AMT better be sure it's not of the theaters that are going to show the coronation on the big screen - I kid you not.

Watching the football game last night with CBS promoting their shows with Obama-like posters and yelling Yes We Can was it for me. There is no safe channel. Add to that having Katie Couric come on during halftime of the Steelers game to give us an Inaugural activities update. What in the bloody world are these people thinking?

It just all got to be too much.LOL. Even if the subject weren't so depressing, all of the news presenters sound like adolescents afflicted with ADHD.

In Panama it is called “TCM” on Channel 38.
It is on at 9:30 (EST) and 4:30 (EST).
Nothing but nothing can distract me for that one hour. I do not answer any phone calls, a doorbell, etc.; and the house can be burning down. NOTHING, BUT NOTHING CAN DISTRACTS ME FROM MY ONLY ONE HOUR OF INTERTAINMENT DURING A 24 HOUR PERIOD.

You should go to the movies and see Defiance. Not just a good WWII film but a tale of how people can unite against overwhelming evil and survive. It could prove instructive. Just damn - great idea.
I go to the theater about 2 times a year. I had thought this would be a good choice for 2009.
I think I'll do just that - with my bottle of Purex and a scarf - dark, airless theaters are germ incubators...

I’ve got about 53 hours of Gunsmoke recorded. I’ll watch that.

I caught the beginning and end of the NFC game yesterday at our clubhouse - but on the whole it’s the occasional rented movie and books (and internet - I still have that) - I think I’ll not only survive but thrive.
