During the summer of 1920, Hitler chose the swastika, an ancient symbol historically used by many cultures, to be the Nazi Party emblem. By 1921 he had secured virtually total control of the Nazi Party. During that time Hitler also plotted to overthrow the German Weimar Republic by force. On November 8, 1923, he led an attempt to take over the local Bavarian government in Munich, in an action that became known as the "Beer Hall Putsch."
The coup was ended after a brief gunfight with Munich police. Himmler, Goering and Hess also participated in the putsch. Hitler was arrested and charged with treason. He successfully used the subsequent trial to gain publicity for himself and his ideas. Following his trial, he was sentenced to five years in Landsberg prison, but served only six months.
During his prison term, Hitler began to dictate his thoughts and philosophy to co-conspirator and cellmate Rudolf Hess, which became the book Mein Kampf (My Struggle). It became the blueprint for Hitler's political plans. In Mein Kampf, he contended that Germans should expand east, liquidate the Jews and turn the Slavs into slave labor. Hitler blamed the Jews for Germany's political and economic problems.
While in jail, Hitler realized he would have to take control of Germany by legal means, not through revolution. He increased the size of the Nazi Party, even though the government had banned it. Hitler's Brown Shirts terrorized political opponents on the streets, which discouraged political competition. During that period, Hitler also created the infamous Schutzstaffel (SS), which was initially intended to be Hitler's bodyguard under the leadership of Himmler.
National politics - 1929-1934
The collapse of the American Wall St. stock exchange in October 1929 lent fuel to a worldwide depression, which had hit Germany especially hard. All loans to Germany from foreign countries dried up, German industrial production slumped, and millions became unemployed. Unemployment in Germany had reached 43 percent by the end of 1932.
Those conditions were fertile ground for Hitler and his Nazi campaign. The Nazis became the second largest party in Germany. Hitler also began to win over the support of both the army and the big industrialists, the latter contributing substantially to Nazi Party finances. Both groups hoped Hitler would return Germany to its former pre-World War I status and glory. He assured top army leaders that the Nazis would reject the punitive Versailles Treaty and rearm Germany.
Did you give any serious productive thought to what you posted before you posted it? I direct your attention to the word allowed.
The finality of the monetary collapse was "allowed" by many politicians for many years. A reasonable case exist that that the monetary collapse began with the "Community Reinvestment Act of 1977.

I’d prefer to have some more information concerning the article source.
I’m not comfortable with the statements made in the article nor with the correlations made (regardless of who they may be made of/about since I’ve seen similar done to many)
That was the intent of my post, nothing more, nor less.
Both are relatively thin.
LOL....that’s very weak.
Thank you for your service to this country!!!
Your post (#20) is exactly why I chose NOT to make this into a vanity post by including my opinions.
You shared your opinion and I totally respect it.
The more I ponder his abilities/lack thereof, I suspect his placement has been to groom the black community into accepting a future merging of Canada, the US and Mexico.
Had a Hispanic/Latino come before the merging, a large political sentiment of resistance would remain in the black community.
Granted it’s lunatic fringe, but I suspect there do exist a lot of powerful people who would reason in that fashion to promote his Administration.
“Both..believe in a master race”
Obama is half white, half black....hehe what the hell man.
“Both are relatively thin.”
For the love of God I don’t even know what to say to that. I really hope your post was satire because if it wasn’t, you are batshit crazy and need therapy and meds.

Thanks for asking for the clarification.
I completely agree that we all have our own opinions but, the title of your post, as noted earlier, implied that there would be direct comparisons with which to make conclusions. That wasn’t the case.
While we’re all free to draw our own conclusions, those same conclusions should be based on facts and figures. Not on our own perceptions and personal biases. Direct comparisons require direct facts, the old “apples to apples”, to back them up. The left has never done that, hence our revulsion when such comparisons are made. We, the “conservative right” can never expect the “liberal left” to stop making such illogical comparisons until we ourselves do. Facts win out everytime...except in this election.
The main difference: Hitler had a brain. Totally evil. But a brain.
One of my “hobbies,” I guess you could say, is studying Nazi Germany and the World War II period. As I was doing so online these last few days, I have been struck by the similarities between the rise of Zer0 and the rise of Hitler, one similarity being most of the MSM. Nothing negative could be written, or said, about “The One.”
Scary. Very scary.
A great, if there could be such a thing, history of Hitler. Where’s the one of Obama for comparison? There’s no clarification here, other than proving what you wrote about Hitler is fact. That was never in doubt as far as I was/am concerned.
Both Hitler and Obama can speak in soaring oratory except Hitler would not have needed a teleprompter. Hitler was able to write a few words on a piece of paper and do a whole speech from that (a gift he shared with Lenin). Obama needs his speeches written out for him and he is an embarrassment without a prepared text.
“While were all free to draw our own conclusions, those same conclusions should be based on facts and figures. Not on our own perceptions and personal biases.”
I supplied the “facts and figures” from the History.com website. A site I don’t see as too biased or with a political agenda.
I deliberately left out my own comparisons to avoid what you describe as “our own perceptions and personal biases”.
It is impossible not to include “our own personal perceptions and personal biases” in our interpretations of the article. That is why it was left to the discretion of the readers to form thier own opinions. And based on the responses, that is what has happened and that is what my interest was...other opinions, biased as they are.
And yes, I agree, in hindsight I could have improved the title by putting a question mark (?) after the the title to make it more clear.

#423 Paragraph a: The first person to mention Hitler loses the argument.
Please, if you would, post some of the similarities. I’m not a student of history, but have read a bit. I would like to see/read them so I can draw my own conclusions with some rational thought behind them.
Jeez...I can’t believe it actually appears as if I’m defending Obama. I hope my wife doesn’t read this or I’ll never live it down. I must be more tired than I thought after having to get up at 0230 to watch my Steelers beat the Ravens live vice on replay. On that note...good night all. I look forward to signing in tomorrow to read some cold, hard facts. Or, some close similarities.
I admit to assuming folks on FR were quite aware of Obama’s biography so as to be able to make comparison’s with what I posted.
Since that may not be the case, here is a link to one:

I have not read this bio and make no claims about its accuracy or content.
