“While were all free to draw our own conclusions, those same conclusions should be based on facts and figures. Not on our own perceptions and personal biases.”
I supplied the “facts and figures” from the History.com website. A site I don’t see as too biased or with a political agenda.
I deliberately left out my own comparisons to avoid what you describe as “our own perceptions and personal biases”.
It is impossible not to include “our own personal perceptions and personal biases” in our interpretations of the article. That is why it was left to the discretion of the readers to form thier own opinions. And based on the responses, that is what has happened and that is what my interest was...other opinions, biased as they are.
And yes, I agree, in hindsight I could have improved the title by putting a question mark (?) after the the title to make it more clear.
The facts and figures from the History.com website were all on Hitler. It would be nice if there were there a similiar site wrt Obama. And there may be in a few months/years.
You’re absolutely right. Even after reading everything, facts, figures and everything else, we’ll still have our own perceptions and personal biases. Myself included. I guess that’s just one of the great things about living in our society. Or as my mom would say, “My mind is made up, don’t confuse me with facts.” Stay safe...
