Glenn,
Could it be that you are the one of whom the Soviet said you would buy the very shovel to bury yourself with?
Where do you draw the line?
Isn’t there something more important than being entertained by your ideological enemies, who pander to, consort with and endorse military enemies?
How about a little Conservative community organizing or something pro-active? There’s a (cultural) war on.
Actually you can enjoy their work all-the-while deducting from their botton line by viewing a “free” copy of the movie on one of a dozen websites. They never get “box office” for the movie, thereby lowering their Hollywood value, and you get to watch movies that you enjoy.
Oh, I am with you on the “try to ram it down my throat or just make hateful comments that are intended to make me feel like an asshole if I dont feel the same way they do,” rant. As a homeschooler I am very much into not letting them tell me what to think.
Rumor has it that Brad Pitt puts his pants on the same way I do.
Given that, I can enjoy his product without seeking his counsel. People who can't separate people from their products would likely buy nothing in this world if they were truthful with themselves.
Aren’t there conservative millionaires and billionaires who can team up to make decent family movies? Why has Hollywood been turned over to the LEFT?
You should be able to go out with your spouse and family for an evening of fun and exciting movie entertainment.
That’s how I grew up when we had John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Doris Day, Grace Kelly, Kim Novak, Gregory Peck, Charleton Heston, Cary Grant, etc...
“I can enjoy his product without seeking his counsel”
If your X is liberal stuff that *by its design is of course enjoyable, but void of moral absolutes*, you strengthen your opponent and starve your own supply line.
Hope you think seriously about that.
Sadly, add Ron Howard to the list, with his pro-Obama ads during the last election and the current latest attempt to make sure the Nixon character assassination continues even a decade after his death “FrostNixon” - Little Opey grew up to be pretty dopey......
Staying away from movies made today isn’t hard for me at all. I’ve only visited movie theaters about six times since 1988, the most recent visit was to see Marley and Me. Actually, very few movies made since the mid-60’s appeal to me. I know, I’m stuck in a time warp,as far as movies are concerned. And I prefer to remain there.
I agree..
I have decidedly cut down on my trips to the movies... If theres a movie that comes out which I REALLY wanna see but am dubious of the political affiliation of the parties involved (not just the actors, but the studios etc), I just rent it later when it comes out on dvd...(the websites are pretty good too, with membership deals that allow you to watch so many movies per month)..
It annoys my girlfriend sometimes, because she’s a staunch conservative but also a movie addict, so she doesnt see the connection between paying to see Hollywood movies and helping ensure America’s destruction...She’s starting to see the light, gradually, however, with all this Obama Hollywood worship.. :)
...Of course every once in a while there’s an exception that I will pay to go see, like Gran Torino..
I simply can’t understand how conservatives can gladly hand over money to a bunch of people who despise us and every thing we believe in..(Hollywood)...I’d simply rather spend the money on something else that is more productive.
>>why do you think there are very few people in Hollywood who will admit to being conservative?<<
I’m guessing its because of the kinds of kids who go into drama clubs in the first place. From high school up they tend to be outsiders into alternative things.
I like Will Smith.
It’s because they are afraid they’ll be blacklisted
Just got back from Gran Torino, what an amazing movie by Clint!
Pray for W, America and Our Troops
The practical problem with black lists is that there are many issues and as each divides the country the impact becomes too large. As you divide businesses into 4 or more groups over blacklists too much of the economy becomes off limits.
