Fish poop helps balance ocean's acid levels
Associated Press ^ | January 15, 2009

WASHINGTON – The ocean's delicate acid balance may be getting help from an unexpected source, fish poop. The increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere not only drives global warming, but also raises the amount of CO2 dissolved in ocean water, tending to make it more acid, potentially a threat to sea life.

Don’t know why, but I am reminded of the candy bar scene from Caddyshack. Man, that was funny.

Did it ever occur to any of these blankly blanks that the earth is self sufficient. It is well balanced and what ever bad effects come about there is something good that balances it out?

God knew what He was doing all the way down to fish poop

The difference between filling a real bucket than filling an imaginary one with no known volume?

Positive feedback - the missing link in the GW theory allows for expanding dimensions - the historical record circumscribes them as we know them.

I doubt positive feedback WRT climate is real. If it were, my thinking is the climate of the Earth would have long since railed out, either hot or cold, and we wouldn't be here. Positive feedbacks are seldom found in nature, because they are so destructive. For me to believe positive feedback, as is found in the AGW computer models, I would like to see the science and the duplicate the experiments.

Until then, I would say positive feedback does not exist in terms of climate. Even massive volcanoes cannot trigger positive feedbacks.

"According to PETA, fish are to be called sea kittens!"

Sea Kittens? Good grief. That's so outlandish it's probably not even satire.

It's quickly getting to the point where one has to ask themselves, "Is the Republic actually worth saving anymore?"

What causes baby eagles to die by their egg shell thinning?

No, it isn't satire. PETA wants schools that have fish mascots to change to "Sea Kittens"...the theory being people wouldn't want to eat fish if they are thought of as "Kittens."

Trust me....I couldn't make this stuff up.

My brother and I were fishing in the gulf along the coast the day before Gustave hit. We limited out with sea kittens.
The fishing camp was left with a ton of mud afterwards, with scattered dead sea kittens.

And the scientists who originally proposed the CFC-Ozone hoax have recanted it?
What I never understood is why the thinning of the ozone layer was over Antarctica, thousands of miles from where CFC's are used. I mean, Antarctica is not even downwind from the major industrial centers of the world.

Maybe because the south pole is land and the north pole is water covered with mostly impenetrable ice. Easy to stand on land and measure, hard to crash through the ice and measure. Now if Al Gore was only right, and the Arctic was ice free, we could drive ships right up to the north pole and do the science. But sadly crackpots like Gore are just well, ya Know, crackpots.

Ozone is created and destroyed by the sun’s radiation at both poles.
