Smith: 'Obama Has Changed The World'

15 January 2009 4:20 AM, PST

Will Smith is overjoyed Barack Obama is to take the reins at the White House next week - because America's first black president will "change the world forever".

The I Am Legend star has been a passionate supporter of the Democrat and appeared in a star-studded public service announcement advert to encourage people to go the polls.

He was delighted to see Obama elected in November and views the historic appointment as life changing.

He tells British morning show GMTV, "It's not just revolutionary, it's evolutionary. Never before in the history of the planet has someone, a group of people, moved from the slave class of empire to be elected to the top spot."

And Smith will always look back on the day Obama was elected with fond memories - it brought his whole family together to witness the momentous occasion.

He tells the BBC, "It's just such a huge moment for America and for the world, it's something I believed was real and possible for so long. I carried myself around the world in that way as if it could be true, possible, so there's a deep truth in me that was validated on (Election Day) November 4th.

"We watched it together as a family. With my kids it was no big deal, whereas for myself and for (wife) Jada, and even more so for our parents, who lived through the struggle for equality, it was so huge, but for our kids the world is different.

"(The world) has changed forever. The ideas and the fibres that are created for America have never been more true than today."

America's first black president will "change the world forever'

Yes he can, but will Will be happy about that a year or so from now?

Will might be happy, but I don’t think that goes for the rest of us.

The world will be changed because the US will no longer be important and will simply be West Kenya, another leftist 3rd world dicatorship like any other.

“whereas for myself and for (wife) Jada, and even more so for our parents, who lived through the struggle for equality”

Yeah, Will Smith and Jada have had such a tough life in America.

So many fools talk about being “oppressed”, what would they do or think if they were in some place like Cuba or all the countries in the middle East or Africa and were REALLY “oppressed”.

Self-indulgent, narcissistic, egomaniacs and idiots.

Lets wait before we make movies, name streets and schools after this guy Obama. OK maybe he will be great—possible. Or he maybe one of the worst presidents we have even had—he may even be another Hitler—possible. We just can’t say now. Looking at his past he has done little save be elected and much of that is caused by the affirmative action syndrome in the white community. Let him earn the honors people are giving to him on a silver platter. He’s like a new toy but one I fear will tarnish fast.

"Never before in the history of the planet has someone, a group of people, moved from the slave class of empire to be elected to the top spot."

Actually the Irish-Americans beat Obama to that honor. The Irish as indentured servants were America's first slave class.

America's first black president will "change the world forever".

The I Am Legend star has been a passionate supporter...

Does the irony of the order and proximity of these statements strike anyone else as strongly as they do me?

Brainless Will just might be right! For the leftist thuggery over which Hussein will preside is almost guaranteed to eventually eliminate the right of the American people to keep and bear arms. On that day, either the second American revolution will begin or the nation and our freedom will be forever lost. Either way, historic.

Will Smith is a good actor, but I wish he would think more before he speaks off script. Yes, Obama will change the world. No, that is not necessarily a good thing.

No,

Will Smith WAS a good actor. He just crossed the line into political obscurity, along with his cohorts in Hollyweird.

Oh come now. You and I both know that Blacks are the only persecuted race in the history of the world. Stop re-writing history, will ya?

"Slave class".

Will Smith, multi-millionaire, a member of the slave class.

Lincoln, and 400,000 white Americans that died in the civil war, just rolled over in their graves.

This black victim-ology mind set makes me want to puke.

He might still be a good actor. I just will never find out. I'm done with his movies and with all actors who speak out in favor of the socialist who is about to take power in our country.

When Obama accomplishes ANYTHING what Dr. Patricia Bath or George Washington Carver have done, then I’ll be the first to say Barrak has changed the world.....
