we’ve been bamboozled, we’ve been conned, we’ve been bamboozlconned, hell we’ve even been neoconned.
there are signs up for entry level jobs all around here....mostly restaurants.....which is a surprise considering the economy.
and xshub’s niece got a pharmacy tech job just this week, at a walgreen’s in upstate NY there.
Scotch. My favorite.
first job?
no. she was a pharmacy tech at a small mom-pop pharmacy this past summer. and has worked at PacSun at the mall. she’s 19 and a college sophomore. she was at the Albany College of Pharmacy, last year, but switched from that bc it was too much for her. she couldn’t see that grind for another 5 years, no matter how good the pay at the end of the line. now she is thinking marketing degree with an eye towards being a pharmaceutical rep.
my son went three semesters there.....$18 thousand dollars later he left....
he was going for pharmacy? well i am not big on schools where you are so limited in what you can do if you change your mind. I had at least 10+ classmates from my highschool, including my college room mate, go to Pharmacy school at Pitt. My former room mate is a bigwig with the Veterans adminsitration and her husband is the dean of a pharmacy school. Anyone changing their mind at a big university could get into something else. i was premed my first year, didn’t miss a beat or a credit, and switched majors and graduated with a double major, double minor. xshub’s niece didn’t lose credits but is at a community college this year and has to reapply to colleges for the last 2 years this coming March or so, when they allow transfer applications. that makes it a lot harder to keep going, when you change your mind. and i think it’s unfair to expect a 17/18 yo to know what they want to do with their life at that point.
very frustrating......but I am sure he would know enough to do a good interview with a pharmaceutical company...sounds like a career plan for him. and you know what? the school NEVER called to see why he wasn't coming back. for a school that was smaller than his high school you think they would have called once.
what is his actual degree in? i don’t know enough to know whether it’s realistic for the niece to get a job as a rep or not. i know that there were actual PharmD’s [graduates with a doctorate in pharmacy] from Pitt who were in sales. i am assuming the xshub niece has looked into it.
xshub’s BIL was less than impressed with ACP also. he pretty much figured it as a place looking to suck in as many tuition dollars as possible.
So many people want to connect audacious with the new President, simply because he used that word. You know, that one, that word.
Actually, he needs a new word, a word for him alone. Something to celebrate his uniquity.
So, hats off, everyone who attends the inauguration ceremony, to the nation's first smugnacious President.
And don’t forget the VP plugnacious!
My wife used to pharmacy tech at Target. I can’t see being a pharmacist. You go to school all those years and you still end up working ridiculous hours at a retail store.
And, at Target at least, having idiot store managers (with nowhere near the education in anything) telling you how to run your department.
The money might be good, but the conditions seem really poor.
in NYS they hired a basic EMT for sales, she had a bach. in something or other...nothing medical, maybe biz.
I told my kids ...become teachers...all holidays off and no weekends ...and the biggie...summers off. They didn’t listen to me.
they tried to tell her she had NO sales experience........and she told them she can “sell” her patients on a trip to the ER every day of the week, even the most stubborn patient who does not wish to go. she got the job.
Medical Lab Tech ...he can draw your blood and then test it for whatever...
I think Bush will remain far more audacious than the Big O will ever be:
