When you listened to Jack Buck call a football game on the radio, you might as well have been watching it...

Vin Scully #1, Chick Hearn #2.

Then there's everybody else.

I agree with Scully, but overall the list looks kinda New Yorky to me. And Bob Costas as #6 overall is a farce.

Man, looking at what Vin has done over the years is remarkable. The BoSox/Mets, Nicklaus at the ‘86 Masters, Kirk Gibson off of Eckersley, and those are just I remember as a kid. He’s been involved in some of the most memorable games ever. No-brainer that he’s number one. I’m lucky to have grown up listening to him.

The most fun to listen to, if not always the most accurate or articulate (at least in the king’s English) were the combination of Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese.

Nice to see Phillies announcer Harry Kalas on the list; Eagles radio announcer Merrill Reese is also very good.
Reese has been doing the Phila. Eagles radio call since the 80’s. Great old time radio style call. It's a widespread practice here in the Philly area to turn down the sound on the TV and listen Merrill's radio call.

I grew up listening to Vin Scully! I remember as a small child, my folks would put me to bed at night and turn off the lights. I’d then insert my earphone and listen to Vinny broadcast Dodgers’ games on my little transister radio.... Vinny is the greatest as was Chick Hearn.
