Tim Tebow vs. Barack Obama
Me | 01-12-09 | Vanity

Posted on 01/12/2009 2:18:43 PM PST by prismsinc

Will there be an awakening of fundamental Christian principles in America? Obama represents those that exercise in the perversion of Christianity, what with this "Gay" Episcopal Bishop giving the invocation without the Bible, Obama sends a clear message of secularism being more important than religious freedom.

Tim Tebow, on the other hand, is all things Obama can never be. Strong Christian background, raised in the Bible belt of Florida, homeschooled throughout his youth, he represents those of us that never allowed "nuance" to enter our social religious conscience.

Tim Tebow may become America's hero, for reasons only God wants. He stands in complete obstruction of all Obama and his kind claim is best for America. Tebow's success may ultimately wake up America's psyche to our fundamental history, and make Obama's social re-wiring short circuit halfway thru its implementation, especially if he wins one more title!

I, being a Miami Hurricanes fan, despise the Gutters (my affectionate term for my rivals to the north) on an opponent's level, am now finding myself rooting for Tim, as his success will be a call to arms for all homeschoolers throughout America, and the world. So go, go, Mr. Tebow! Make the path to socialism that much more difficult for the Messiah!

I realize in your case, it’s not hate, it’s envy.

Go Gators!

Tebow is someone that any Freeper should celebrate. He is a rare find in sports at his level. The same goes for Myron Rolle at FSU. A Rhodes Scholar while playing football at Free Shoes U. Two excellent examples for kids and adults alike.

Kinda the way I feel about Tiger Woods. I started cheering for Tiger to lose a long time ago.

I get a different vibe from those two than you do.

Tiger doesn't thank Jesus every time he sinks a put. He also keeps a very good balance between a near fanatical competitive spirit and humility. I think Tebow could learn from him.

I’m sorry, did I offended your poor St. Tim? I thought this was a thread about football.

"...a morally ambiguous man."

Morally ambiguous? Try morally bankrupt.

Ain't no ambiguity about it.

Go Gators!

Another one loss national championship for the Gators. Keep it up, you're bound to get a real one someday.

I could not believe Jones seems to think he’s going to be playing for Dallas again next year. There’s cocky, then there’s delusional...

You are right. I was just referring to the media fawning. I would agree that the constant over-do IMO of religion is way too much.

That makes more than half of the electorate morally bankrupt for endorsing Obama. And don’t forget to include our entire government that doesn’t question Obama’s eligibility to become POTUS.

As a nation we are truly screwed and screwed-up.

“yeah, heisman, 2 nat’l champs, ridiculous stats, and the hottest girlfriend EVER!”

National championships do not exist in college football. Only sport where the winner is not decided solely on the field of play.

Maybe Florida was the best this year but given that it was not settled on the field and that there were at least two more teams (especially Utah) who had a case for being in that game alongside them its forever less of a “title” than a World Series or a Superbowl. Nobody disputes the fact that the Giants were the king of the NFL last year. Nobody disputes that Kansas was the NCAA basketball champ. In a poll I saw more than half of fans disputed the idea that Florida was the champ. Only sport where that happens.

Thank god for the NCAA tournament, the World Series, and the NFL playoffs. Its nice to watch teams win it on the field rather than #1 and #2 being anointed for the title game. Its nice to level a level playing field so that a team can’t go undefeated and end up without a chance to even compete for a title. Its nice that in other sports some teams aren’t eliminated before the first practice snap.

Until this joke of a system is fixed then anytime you refer to a college football national title you need to use an *.

>Sinclair charges Obama smoked crack cocaine in the limo while Sinclair snorted powdered cocaine provided by the legislator. He says the two met in an upscale Chicago lounge before leaving in Sinclair’s limousine where the drug use and sex took place for the first time.<

If this is true we can expect for Obama to shake his finger at us on TV, declaring: “I never had sex with Mr. Sinclair.” It’s a democrap habit. Can you just see the KGB trying to get the goods on him for blackmail purposes?

You know Mr. Whiner, I could care less about NFL or college football but once in a great while a kid like Tebow comes along who exemplifies everything we want our own kids to be. Good athletes, good students and above all, moral human beings.

For you to sit back in your own jaded little world and rip on Tebow simply because he just led the Gators to a national championship shows what character you are made of.

And to be honest, it really must suck to be you..........

ONE penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Personally I thought that was the highlight of the game. You over exaggerate! You could have enjoyed a good game if you weren’t so full of hate.

Spoken like a true drama queen.

Its obvious you don't know anything about college football, for two reasons.

First, ribbing the other team and their star players is part of the fun. Nobody gets their panties in a bunch about it except codgers like you.

Second, guys like Tebow come around all the time, you just haven't been paying attention. In fact, there were two other good, moral, Christian, scholarly quarterbacks at the Heisman ceremony alone.

Pay attention next time and maybe you'll see that Tebow's saintly glow is media generated.

He's been doing it all season. I don't think I ever saw Wuerffel do that.

It didn't seem very Christian of a guy who claims divine endorsement.

The media lovefest over Tebow is disgusting. He's like the college version of Brett Favre; overrated and over hyped.

Wow, I haven't seen anything this ignorant and reeking of jealousy in a long, long time!

Over rated? He owns nearly ever passing record in Florida! His highschool team took state, his college team has two championships and he has a Heisman! He EARNED every bit of it!

I saw him play when he was in high school when I was rooting for my son's team to beat them. I too was as ignorant then as you are now. But that young man made a believer out of me.

How many players are better? How many athletes have more character?

Few if any. And that means he isn't over rated.
