Tim Tebow vs. Barack Obama
Me | 01-12-09 | Vanity

Posted on 01/12/2009 2:18:43 PM PST by prismsinc

Will there be an awakening of fundamental Christian principles in America? Obama represents those that exercise in the perversion of Christianity, what with this "Gay" Episcopal Bishop giving the invocation without the Bible, Obama sends a clear message of secularism being more important than religious freedom.

Tim Tebow, on the other hand, is all things Obama can never be. Strong Christian background, raised in the Bible belt of Florida, homeschooled throughout his youth, he represents those of us that never allowed "nuance" to enter our social religious conscience.

Tim Tebow may become America's hero, for reasons only God wants. He stands in complete obstruction of all Obama and his kind claim is best for America. Tebow's success may ultimately wake up America's psyche to our fundamental history, and make Obama's social re-wiring short circuit halfway thru its implementation, especially if he wins one more title!

I, being a Miami Hurricanes fan, despise the Gutters (my affectionate term for my rivals to the north) on an opponent's level, am now finding myself rooting for Tim, as his success will be a call to arms for all homeschoolers throughout America, and the world. So go, go, Mr. Tebow! Make the path to socialism that much more difficult for the Messiah!

Did you hear that Obama doesn't want to invite Tebow to the White House to celebrate the National Championship?

Apparently, he doesn't want the media to have to worry about kissing two butts at the same time.

The media lovefest over Tebow is disgusting. Every sports commentator loves to point out how he must be the greatest human being to ever play sports.

I'm rooting for him to get his butt kicked in 2009, both because I hate the Gators, and I hate objects of media affection. He's like the college version of Brett Favre; overrated and over hyped.

I think the root of the reason that Tebow is hyped so much is that in a sea of Pacman Jones emulating athletes a decent kid like Tebow is such a difference that any comparison make him seem saintly.

Some of their love fest is fake and many would turn on him in a heart beat. I like Tim for his ethics, sacrifice and love for our brother Christ and God our father.

I have met several people like you who hate Tim mostly because he is a good kid and it shows them that people can succeed while not cheating, lying, screwing around, drinking, etc. He tweaks their own guilty conscience. However, I am not saying that is why you don't like him.

Hey, I’m a CANE! You ain’t gotta tell me about hating the Gutters!

The media finds him fascinating in a GOOD way now, but let his personal experience become a part of the political discussion, and Tebow will become a pariah.

I wish people would quit calling Barack Hussein Obama “The Messiah.” Though I understand that this is done with sarcasm, it does tend to validate those people’s view. He is a man, a misguided, dishonest, and morally ambiguous man.

Yeah, I don’t really like it either, but I couldn’t think of anything better at the moment. Sawwy!

You forgot that he's as handy with the foreskin as he is the pigskin:

Tebow helps circumcize children in the Philippines

He's a great college quarterback, I'll admit, and he'll make a great clipboard holder in the NFL.

But if you don't think the media orgasm over him is excessive, you haven't been paying attention.

Come on now....I’m not a Gator fan but you have to respect Tebow for the person he is and what he has accomplished.

You have my deepest sympathy. Your life must be sad to spend time hating someone like Tebow.

Yep! I agree! And I still like him, but the fawning is nuts. Kinda the way I feel about Tiger Woods. I started cheering for Tiger to lose a long time ago. The lick spittle from the media is GAGGING!

I hate him first and foremost because he's a Gator. I also think that he's taken the whole "Jesus helped me win" shtick to a new absurd level. I wonder if Jesus helped him taunt the other team and draw all of those Gator Chomp unsportsmanlike penalties.

I guarantee you'd never see Colt McCoy do that. But like Tebow said, I guess that god just loves Florida more than the other teams.

He'll have another great year. Hopefully the Longhorns will see them in the NC game next year and we'll have the two best QB's facing off.

After that, he'll be the NFL's next Danny Wuerffel.

You know, I was talking to my co-worker on why Tebow was staying. I heard the news that Tebow was staying at Florida, I said he was a fool to not go to the pros. Co-worker told me that Tebow's father is a Pastor and that he wants to finish school and get his degree. Also mentioned that Tebow was very religious. Didn't know that but I'm glad I do now.

Tim Tebow is all the wonderful things the media and commentators say he is, in his football career, academics and his personal life. His faith and humility are genuine and inspiring. Most people who hate him, do so because he makes them realize how poorly they compare.

Did you see James Brown’s excellent interview of Jones? What the Hell is a “scrip” club anyway? A place to oogle old ladies at the pharmacy? LOL

Oh gag me. You sound like an ESPN anchor. I'm sorry that I don't agree that Tim Tebow is the greatest human being to ever walk the face of the earth.

You're obviously not a college football fan. Roasting the opposition is part of it.
