Remember when Mickey Rourke was hot? Check him out in the photo above from when he made 9 1/2 Weeks with Kim Basinger. Rent the movie. Watch it. Then tell me the dude wasnt hot. He specialized as the dashing bad boy and never struck me as the type to do whatever hes done to his face. He seemed to not care about his looks. He was ruggedly handsome and was into boxing and living on the edge. Apparently he cared more than it seemed he did. Then he kind of disappeared from the movie scene for a while. Hes been making a remarkable comeback lately. Just last night he won a Golden Globe for his starring role in The Wrestler and is said to be a contender for an Oscar.

Did you read the Examiner article on him and his dogs? Priceless!
Great movie. Along with Barfly!
"Shes like a giant Xanax, you know? Im not going to get religious on your ass, but I truly believe God created dogs for a cause. They are the greatest companions a man could ever have."
Yes, we do know, Mickey. Congratulations on your win.
Not only does this woman think he was far from ‘hot’, she also thinks he looks like he has a sourball in his mouth and is perpetually constipated.
Squinty-eyed, smirking men aren’t my definition of ‘hot’.
Mickey Rourke won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama at the Golden Globes this evening for his lead role in The Wrestler.
He gave a surprisingly eloquent and heartfelt speech, noting that he is not used to speaking in public and that he was almost "out of the business" (Hollywood) a few years ago. (The critics are calling his speech "interesting.")
Rourke thanked his agent, producers, co-stars, etc. and then he asked the audience if he could thank his dogs--both the ones that are still with him now, and those that had passed on.
Sometimes when you're alone, all you got is your dog and they meant the world to me. --Mickey Rourke, during his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the Golden Globes.
I bet nobody's ever thanked their dog before at the Golden Globes, and I admire that Mickey Rourke did. He expressed the immense love and gratitude we feel towards our dogs who give us unconditional love, companionship and loyalty. (Not to mention regular laughs.)

Below, watch video of Mickey Rourke at the Venice Film Festival last year. He brought his 16 year-old Chihuahua terrier mix, Loki with him onto the red carpet.
"My dog is very old, she is 16 and she is not going to be around for long so I want to spend every moment with her," he told Reuters.

Clint and Kurt Russell are squnity eyed.
But he loves dogs
One of my most favorite movies EVAH.
From what I have read, he had a facelift that changed his appearance quite a bit (a lot like Kenny Rogers facelift).
Glad Rourke is back and I hope he wins the Oscar.
His erratic behavior from the pain medicine and his heroin addiction made him uninsurable for over ten years.
Also...all actors are nuts.
I don’t think either of those guys is ‘hot’ either.
Now Brendan Fraser- especially circa. ‘ George of the Jungle’-OMG. Older- Sean Connery. Mel Gibson,Braveheart!!
Rutger Hauer young. Mark Hamill in Empire-sigh.
Shemar Moore. I could go on- but not many that are considered ‘sexy’ and ‘hot’ by the MSM do a thing for me.
He loves his dog, and isn’t afraid to show it to the world. BRAVO! He gets my vote as a good person for that. I don’t trust people who don’t like dogs- or who dogs don’t like.
So I’d probably walk my maltepoo with Rourke, but the physical attraction would be -0.
