He made the mistake of getting talked into cheek implants because of some nerve damage he got boxing. The implants caused an allergic reaction which actually caused his cheeks to explode. He has been suffering from and attempting to correct the damage ever since.

His erratic behavior from the pain medicine and his heroin addiction made him uninsurable for over ten years.
