Ok folks here's the new thread for the new season.

A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including JANIS GOLD, RENEE WALKER, LARRY MOSS and SEAN HILLINGER. Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O'BRIAN and BILL BUCHANAN are back for another momentous day of shocking events.

I just watched last week’s episode again on Tivo.. and, the preview for this week.. here’s a couple of things I picked up:
- yes.. Larry is definitely alive. The bad guy just shot him a couple of time on his body armour.. Larry was just out of breath. Tony “smothered” him just enough to keep him quiet, to save his life.. as the bad guy was coming closer for another shot.
- JACK will DEFINITELY be interogating Jonas.. that should be fun.
- Freckles will NEARLY be killed in a trap, but... after Jack’s warning, she will escape and be OK.
- Tony shoots HIMSELF for some reason... I guess, to explain to the FBI how the bad guys got away.. but, Tony didn’t go with the cannister. So, it’s not clear to me how he is staying under cover to get the bad guys.. seems like, he’s still helping them.
And.. finally, yes.. Chloe did give a quick look of “isn’t this stupid” at the very end of the glo-bull warning PSA. I guess, I still love her! :-)
The odd thing is how little she adds to the show. No doubt there’s a plot twist there somewhere. I suspect Chloe will come back and somehow “trip” over some little blip that makes her suspicious. Is JG a mole? Maybe we’ll get a final showdown where Chloe takes her out!
The part that made the least sense to me was Tony smothering Larry. If you were the shooter, wouldn’t you wonder why Tony went to all that time and trouble when all you had to do was put a bullet in Larry’s head? It’s not like silence was an issue.
I have no idea whether that adds to the plot line. But is there some explanation for it?
Yeah, it makes my head hurt.
But my point wasn’t just “Why kill (or pretend to kill) Larry?”.
I’m looking at it from the shooter’s side. He’s got a clear shot at Larry’s head. He’s alread fired numerous rounds so silence is apparently not a concern. BUT...now Tony causes him to stop while Tony spends an inordinate amount of time smothering Larry.
The shooter would be wondering what the bull was going on. The writers gave us nothing to go on as to why the shooter would simply stand by and not question why Tony is doing this.
Except for the fact that, the shooter clearly knows Tony, and accepts orders from him. So, if he see his "superior" smothering the FBI guy, he's not going to interfere.
I agree... he's probably thinking, WTF? But, he's not going to do or say anything about it.
To me, it was pretty clear that Tony did this to SAVE Larry's life... if he hadn't, the shooter was coming over for a head shot. That HAS to mean, that Tony is still really trying to be the "good guy"...and, keep up his creds to infiltrate the higher ups...
Another thing I noticed on the replay: Tony seemed to show a great deal of interest when he heard Larry mention that Kim was visiting with Jack... Hmnnnn... Maybe it means nothing, but.... I'm not so sure.
They would make a cute couple! :-)
The bald guy was in previous episodes and the plot is HUGE...he was like an alien coming down observing the earth...not a bad guy...but Walter has something to do with him....I thought it was awesome...once I got to see the end on Hulu.
I don’t know Jack but I don’t think Tony is bad either...a plot twist I think.

I think SCMT has it and the writers are probably figuring people won't be like us and try to super-analyze things. At least, I hope so. I'm gonna feel real bad if this isn't the game plan cuz turning Tony into a merciless killer after all he's done just doesn't make sense.
I mean hell, he coulda cut with the diamonds 6 hours ago and been in the Bahamas by now.
..and I still want to know who’s the 4th guy in the Chloe/Bill/Tony team.
