"The King" has been gone for more than 30 years, but that hasn't stopped fans from gathering to celebrate his birthday each year - often times by chowing down on one of the "Hound Dog" crooner's favorite foods: peanut butter".

And back in the day I would have been willing to bet Jerry Lee would be one of the first to die.

Badeye, Elvis was a decent man who fell into drugs through his “handlers” and over indulgent doctors. He was handsome and had a beautiful voice and gave us years of pleasure and wonderful songs to enjoy.

We regret his final years.

If you don’t care for him please refrain from piling on.

No offense intended, as I noted potlatch. I know, millions love the guy to this day.

Don’t blame his employees for his weaknesses, thats all I’ll say.

Have a great day.

First of all, I knew Elvis, and that picture ain’t him.

As for Jimi Hendrix, I would much rather listen to a guy that served proudly in the US army and gave about half his earnings in taxes because, he said, “this country has been very good to me, why shouldn’t I pay her back?” than some acid freak that bastardized the Star Spangled Banner on his electric guitar.

When I looked in Google I saw many “celebrations” going on. Since they were selling tickets I didn’t link to them, lol.

Potlatch,
Thank you. I guess I’m getting old. I remember a time when you never heard a bad word against Elvis. He genuinely was a very patriotic, down to earth guy who loved his country and his mama. Yeah, he got screwed up in the end and paid for it. But in his lifetime, he was a pretty simple, big hearted good ole Southern boy. Ask any charity in Memphis and they will tell you how much they miss him. He gave a lot and never bragged about it.

This is soooo unlike today’s self-absorbed stars. There will never be another like Elvis.
