It’s only appropriate that much of this thread involves a discussion of USC, because for yet another year, the bowls have been played, teams have shown who is who, and USC again looks to be the best team in the country. For the 4th time in the past six years, USC finishes the season with the same one loss that the BCS title participants had, and doesn’t play in the game because the propaganda war is won by other conferences.
Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Agreed. Florida might be able to hang with them, but anyone else would meet the same fate as Penn State. That is one dominant team, and when they're motivated it's just about impossible to stop them.
1. SC clearly had the most dominant bowl win of the top 5 teams. They dominated a stellar Penn State team that boasted the #4 defense in the country.
2. The recurring criticism throughout the season was that SC was playing in a horribly bad Pac 10 conference and SC’s 11-1 regular season record was heavily discounted. Then the Pac 10 went 5-0 in the bowl season.
Looking back, SC beat, dominated, and decimated three top ten teams during the season. Meyer and Tebow are extremely lucky they didn't have to play SC for the Crystal Trophy. And Oklahoma didn't even belong in the title game, clearly.
