INDIANAPOLIS He overcame injury, odds and adversity.
Five months ago, he was recovering from knee surgery, and just two months ago, his team was under .500 and he had just one more touchdown pass than interceptions.
Now, Peyton Manning is something else, something historic.
Now, he is the NFLs Most Valuable Player.
Again.

IMHO, Matt Ryan was just as deserving..where did he wind up?
I dunno, does Miami even sniff the playoffs without Pennington? Yes Manning is better, but who was more valuable to their team?
I would say Manning is clearing the more valuable to his team than Pennington.
This is silly. They only gave it to Manning because the colts made a “dramatic comeback”. But was it so dramatic? they only lost so many games early in the season because many players were on IR. when they came back, they won—as they were expected to. Far less expected was the 11-5 Dolphins season. and for that, chad Pennington is my MVP pick. (Matt ryan a close 2nd, but Turner and his receiver corps were huge factors as well, whereas Pennington was the singular factor).
Even Kerry Collins deserved consideration, after the mess they were in at the beginning of the year with Vince Young.
Or what about Flacco?
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis 32
Chad Pennington, Miami 4
Michael Turner, Atlanta 4
Adrian Peterson, Minnesota 3
James Harrison, Pittsburgh 3
Philip Rivers, San Diego 2
Chris Johnson, Tennessee 1
Kurt Warner, Arizona 1
a case can be made for a number of QB’s..not to disparage manning, he’s a hall of fame QB deserving of the awards, however, this award was made as much on name as anything..IMHO
You could say the same thing about the Colts...a .500 season would be difficult without Peyton Manning.
I guess you could call me a Colts fan, but, in reality, I’m a Dungy fan (live in Tampa Bay area, and I’ll root for the Colts instead of the Bucs, any day.)
Manning did look “awful” when he first started the seasons, and he did make a great comeback.
I’m for any award that reflects well on Dungy, and as Manning said on the clip, it’s really a team award, and he owes thanks to the team and Dungy for being named MVP.
From AP. Sorry, I don’t believe a damn thing they say.
Jake Delhomme of the Panthers got the shaft. I guess you have to be in the bigger markets to be eligible.
The record speaks for itself.
I thought Barack Hussein Obama was the AP MVP???
Having seen Manning play all year, I’d say this was a well-deserved award for him. A lot of other players deserved consideration, but he is so far ahead of the rest of the NFL in terms of QB talent — and so absolutely critical to his team’s success — that it’s hard not to name him the league’s MVP.
I like Eli Manning. At first I didn’t because he would not go where he was supposed to-Detroit? I can’t remember. However, I think he is better than his brother.
My MVP FWIW
Way to go, Peyton! He’s a good man. A true inspiration to us all.
Now, if he’d only stop doing those television commercials. He can’t act worth beans. And mumbles.
CUT THAT MEAT! CUT THAT MEAT!
Oh, and then there's this.
