You have very tough, macho dogs. My little furry kid hates snow. I was stuck in a hotel in CO a few years ago, when they had 4’ of snow.

When it was potty time, I put her leash on her, and headed to the exit doors; she looked through the glass, saw all the white, came to a dead halt, and did her job right in the lobby of the hotel! I was SOooo embarassed!

I took a peek at the Bachelor, haven’t watched for a few seasons and this doesn’t look like a good one.

Oh, I have to watch this season because Jason, this seasons' bachelor, was runner up in last seasons' The Bachelorette. So many people said they thought DeAnna picked the wrong guy in the end, that she should have picked Jason. I was one of them. Of course, Jason was devastated. So now Jason fans want to see him find the perfect lady, but so far I am not impressed with many of them. So many of those women act so desperate and trashy, I just can't imagine that they really think this is the way to the bachelor's heart. And, in the previews, it looks like DeAnna is coming back to the show, saying that, in fact, she DID pick the wrong guy and wants another chance to win Jason's heart. It will be interesting to see what he does.

I know, it's brain-dead TV, but there just isn't much of anything else on. Also, I wouldn't be watching the Bachelor if Jason wasn't on it this season. I just really like the guy and think he deserves to find his soul mate.

Thanks, Conor. It's a work in progress. Haven't done much with it lately though.

I’m with you - those women talk, dress and act like two bit you-know-whats. If I were a man, there’s not one (at this point) that I would want to bring home to meet my family.

That is so lovely. I like the brightness of it because it is very dark and gloomy here. Dark and gloomy for a few days is not good for me! And “Pondering”....nice!

A T T I T U D E

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
‘Well,’ she said, ‘I think I’ll braid my hair today.’
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
‘H-M-M,’ she said, ‘I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today.’

So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one hair on her head.
‘Well,’ she said, ‘today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.’

So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed
that there wasn’t a single hair on her head

‘YAY!’ she exclaimed. ‘I don’t have to fix my hair today!’

Attitude is everything.

I’m fine Conor, but dissolving in tears at the moment as I view such a fine scene at the dedication of a warship, cited above. This is sweet, sad and proud.

It is really cold here too. My computer weather station says 48 and the sun is shining. It may get to middle 50’s today.

The Orange Sunset was an oversized graphic that you made 4 years ago. I’ve been trying to slip in some of the older graphics whenever possible. ;)

Oh good, I had posted the announcement in another thread but was unable to watch live myself. I think it's shameful it wasn't carried by all networks, but instead cartoons and informercials as usual.

As for reading, I seem to be collecting fiction. I just bought a couple set in various wartimes.

My most stirring recent read was Flags of Our Fathers by James Bradley, the son of one of the flag-raisers at Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima. I gained a deeper appreciation of our WWII heroes and veterans.
