"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

And look what happened the very next day.
Prohibition of alcoholic beverages began in the United States on Jan. 16, 1919 and lasted till 1933.

A Sin By Any Other Name
How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Genesis 39:9
Joseph found himself in a difficult position one day when his masters wife attempted to seduce him. How tantalizing this woman must have been to a healthy young man! And it must have occurred to Joseph how fearsome her wrath would be when he spurned her advances.
Yet Joseph flatly resisted her. His moral convictions stemmed from his clear view of sin and his reverence for God. He said to her, How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? (Gen. 39:9).
Today, it is popular to call sin by more acceptable names. But using euphemisms for offenses against God will only weaken our resistance and trivialize sins harmfulness to us.
To Joseph, sin was not just an error of judgment. Nor was it a mere slip of the tongue or an indiscretion in a moment of weakness. Joseph saw sin for what it wasa serious offense against the Lordand he did not play down the gravity of the offense.
Gods moral standards are absolute. It is only when we see sin as something abhorrent to the Lord that we will be motivated to make right moral judgments.
Calling sin by a softer name will change neither its offensiveness to God nor its cost to us.
Was it for crimes that I have done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown!
And love beyond degree! Watts

Mornin’ all!
What a darling Great Dane! I want one! LOl Have no idea what I’d do with one—my current “girls” are 12# and 17#, but I do love a GD! Love Irish Wolfhounds, too. Talk about a dog that’s unsuitable for a hot, humid climate!
Cold here, and busy, and the green house isn’t even cranked up good. Do have some cabbage and broccoli, lettuce, chard, cauliflower, etc started. They should be up today—I noticed some of them were uncurling yest.
Have a great day, y’all!

Mr. Mayor, I had just gone back and checked....I was experiencing de ja vue (however you spell it). Even though I didn't reply to yesterday's D.B. I had read it and it was a very good lesson.
Calling sin by a softer name will change neither its offensiveness to God nor its cost to us.
That has already happened in our country, I'm mighty afraid! I pray it can be changed.
By the way, we have climbed to 8 degrees from 0 when I got up. I just heard our 'high' today will be 20. I am cold in the house today and afraid to cut the thermostat up too high. Hope you have a wonderful day.

deja-vous, is right, I had the same thing going on.
We are at 3 degrees. Very cold.
This country is upside down, we need to know which side is up and His word keeps us on track. Thanks Jaycee!

The info in post #1728 is wrong!
Prohibition was from 1920 to 1933 in the United States.
Sorry about that but my source was in error and I didn’t check.
