My ‘unmarried son’ (who has a girlfriend) was on Facebook yesterday and by golly, he ran into an old girlfriend. She was living in Charlotte, NC. He thought it so odd. When he dated her in high school, her nickname her parents had given her was ‘puddin’ and she had that on her car tag.

He had bought her some gifts (I believe it was Christmas) and I found some wrapping paper and it had puddin written all over, along with flowers, etc. I thought that was an unusual event to find paper like that.

The irony of the whole new meeting was that Puddin’ used to be good friends with his “now” girlfriend. He better watch out, huh? (I’ll be back later, I have to lay down.)

Did either of you hear the governator's state of the state address? I didn't, but am hearing it was short and pretty gloomy.

Our state is about to cave in on itself and become bankrupt. Some of us saw this coming, but unbelievably, many people are in shock..."how could this happen???" Well, duh! Irresponsible fiscal policy, entitlement programs and illegal immigration have bankrupted our state. Add to that fact; the producers in CA have been leaving in droves. Even a third grader could see this coming. It was only a matter of time before the pie plate was empty. Too many have bellied up to the public trough and now our entire state infrastructure is about to collapse. It will be interesting to see how we get out of this mess. No one is about to give up THEIR piece of the pie, and heaven forbid we should cut off state aid to people who are here illegally.

Sorry, I am just in a really cranky mood today. I probably should go gripe somewhere else and not ruin the happy mood at Amy's Place. TTYL.

Facebook is great for reconnecting and keeping in touch. Yes, I think I heard that my son also got back in touch with a couple of his old girlfriends from high school. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. LOL ;-)

Beautiful California has been my second home..It is sad.

I watched part of the local coverage.

State employees complaining about a proposal for them to take two days/month off without pay. I would like to tell them to quit and find another job. We have too many state employees with too many perks. Any job I ever had, the employee had to pay a portion of health insurance coverage for family members. They complain. My health insurance went up again this year. Doesn't do me any good to complain.

We are still talking about leaving the state. Haven't yet decided where to go. Maybe Medford, OR or one of the small towns south of Reno. We want to stay in the West .... I don't know why.

The illegal immigrants have ruined this state. Every time I hear someone mention how much they help the state by paying taxes, I want to barf!! Wish someone would compare what they take to what they give. All government service offices has to be manned by both English and Spanish speaking employees.

Like you, I need to get off this soapbox. LOL
