Most reports to local police departments are standard fare: car break-ins, residential burglaries and suspicious behavior. But occasionally, these reports some of which we feature in our "On record" blotter in the Local section cross the line into the absurd.
Here are a few from 2008 that made us laugh out loud, raise our eyebrows or shake our heads.
Suspicious activity: A man reported July 16 that someone entered his home in Blaine and taped a sink nozzle so that it would spray him when he turned on the water.
Loud music: An Oakdale man called 911 about 1 a.m. Nov. 3 to report loud and disturbing music coming from a neighbor's garage. The caller said his neighbor's garage door was partially open and she was using a karaoke machine to sing George Michael songs. Police advised the 30-year-old woman to stop.

I saw that first one on AFV.
Advised to stop? Anyone singing George Michael songs at 1 AM deserves to be arrested!
that ought to be a felony.
I did the first one to my room-mate once. Hint to anyone looking to repeat... If the nozzle is black plastic (as ours was) then black electrical tape is just about invisible. ;-) For chrome ones, well, maybe regular semi-transparent tape?
Gets them every single time.

I have to say this. Once is funny. Repeat is lame.
Originality is the key to pranks.
