CAN YOU CRACK A CODE? Try Your Hand at Cryptanalysis
Last year, we challenged you to crack a code created by the cryptanalysts in our FBI Laboratory, who are experts in breaking ciphers of all kinds.
Tens of thousands of you did so.
Are you ready for round two? We hope so. But bear in mind, this year's code is slightly more difficult.
Once again: if you want a primer on basic cipher systems and how to break them, see the article "Analysis of Criminal Codes and Ciphers."
And if youre a youngster, we suggest you start with the code on our Kids' page.
Good luck!

Very easy. Took only 5 minutes to solve !!
Sounds like my last commercial flight. I was tired, a bit hung over and just wanted to sleep on the flight. An attractive young lady sat beside me. Ordinarily I would have liked it, but not this time. I needed sleep.
She told me it was her first flight ever. She asked if she could hold my hand for comfort. I nodded and tried to get comfortable. When we headed down the runway on the takeoff run she was crushing my hand. When the landing gear was raised and locked she nearly broke it, asking what that loud noise was. I told her and again tried to get to sleep. Every time the engine pitch changed or we banked she squeezed again. She talked continually and I’d mumble yes or no. When I realized she really was terrified I forced myself awake and paid attention to her.
When we landed and shut down she kissed my cheek and thanked me.
