Heres mine. You dont loan someone money, you lend it. You make a loan. Lend = verb, loan = noun. If I gave the money yesterday, would that mean I "lent" him some money?
Just curious.

Thank you! Room and board, of course. The board came from a place to sit at the table, no?

They’re trying to sound educated. One of my cousins works in a university faculty office. The deans write incomprehensible gibberish which she then translates into real words. When they argue with her, she has to explain that the purpose of that particular writing is to clearly convey information to other people. When it isn’t understandable, those people totally screw up what they are being asked to do (which she has to fix).

I feel badly. s/b I feel bad. A great scene from the movie A Letter to Three Wives, Kirk Douglas, (who plays a school teacher) is bananas when a snooty woman says, "Don't feel badly, dear." He looks at her, raising his voice, "It's feel BAD ... you feel badly this way," while wiggling his fingers in the air!

Nothing will help, Unco! Tomorrow, and today on other threads, it’s will be its, there will be their, you’re will remain your. All this in posts questioning intelligence of other posters and politicians. Ask the guilty, and they have the unvarying cute response “oh, my spelling is bad”. Well, bud, it’s not your spelling, it’s your intelligence and your edumacation, and your reading comprehension. One teacher I had said that people who can’t spell are people who can’t read. He was right.
