What are the odds that this baby boy will grow up to be a mouse exterminator?

I love cats. I have always loved cats. I'm a cat lady. I'm almost a cat myself.
Having said that, I'm not entirely certain they were licking him for the reasons this journalist thinks.

Cat colony? Yeah right, I always see a bunch of cats walking around together. More than likely, the cats spotted this kid lying in the gutter and decided to eat him.

There were all these cats on top of him licking him because he was really dirty," Lindgvist said. "When I walked over they became really protective and spat at me. They were keeping the boy warm while he slept."
"Licking" for salt. "Protective" of their source of heat.

The boy's father, who is homeless, said his son vanished several days ago and that cats had always been protective of the boy, Lindgvist said. Not an expert on cats, but the child was missing for several days. If they'd had any inclination to harm him, they had plenty of time to do it.

I’ve never seen as many cats in one place as I have in Buenos Aires, especially in some of the parks.
