I am not connected with any of the websites listed above. I am not a professional recruiter, just a retired comm tech/rancher so asking me for my advice on how to get hired in a particular career isn't worth more than two cents. If you have an idea of how to make this thread better please let me know about it.
2ndDivisionVet has been a career counselor and recruiter since 1988, ask him for advice either on the thread or FReep Mail him.

Good list. I could add a list of defense contractors if any one is interested.

Very good idea for a thread. One does have to be flexible.

“Am I customizing my resume based on the job description? If you’re sending out the same resume to each job you apply for, you should seriously consider customizing your resume based on the job you’re applying for. Most times the H.R. dunderheads will simply pass you by if your resume doesn’t contain the buzzwords they’re looking for. Those buzzwords or phrases will be in the job description. The trick is to include them in your resume so that it gets passed onto the hiring manager.”

Hardest part of the hiring process is getting past the 23-yr old HR bimbo with a degree in sociology.
When I was preparing to leave the USAF, I was told by such a bimbo that I had no “major corporate experience.”
I guess working for over 20-yrs in the Air Force (600,000 people at the time), didn't qualify, not running a couple billion dollar a year contracts. Nope, no experience there.

Its the truth. These people have no idea what the job entails.
They just read buzzwords, herd people and look for ways to cut benefits L0L
