Eastwood is 77 and is really too old to be playing these types of roles.

It must be the Friday doldrums, but I have no clue what you’re seeing and talking about.

The role is an old man. Who should play it?

New Eastwood movie. “Gran Torino.” About a retired Koren War vet and autoworker man who watches the neighborhood around him go to pieces while doing what he can to hold it together. No idea how it ends. But Eastwood ain’t know for happy endings these days.

"Walt could be Clints iconic Dirty Harry character a few years down the road from when we last saw him and
a bit more racist." Dirty Harry was racist? Been a while since I saw the films but I thought he just liked shooting child killers rather than letting them off due to ACLU like technicalities.
To: BradyLS
*Sigh* Eastwood’s character is a Korean War vet and retired autoworker...

Ah, thank you. Not being much of a movie fan I missed the reference.
Cheers!

And there as the one where he had the Chinese neighbor he was hot for. I never saw him as racist. In the one with the gal partner, he was sexist, with an explanation; she wasn't qualified for the detective shield.
He was non-PC before PC was popular. In at the beginning trying to fight all the crap we now see everyday.

Yep, Clint’s last few movies are depressing as hell, and I’m willing to bet he dies at the end of Grand Torino.
Same for Will Smith. I watched ‘I am Legend’ last night...after reading the synopsis for ‘Seven Pounds’.
Who talked him into those two movies?
Eventually, Hollywood will remember they are in business to make money, not lecture us non stop.
Eventually.

The plot appears similar to Charles Bronson’s “Death Wish” minus the opening assault/rape.

Smith has a run going. 8 movies in a rwo #1 the first week. We’ll see how he does with this one. I’ve seen the previews 2-3 times and not a grabber.
