Some of the “Reasons” are pretty funny, like the one saying that Jobs couldn’t decide what to wear.

The comments are even funnier. They read like the OS wars here on FR!

On a more serious note, I think he’s not showing up because of his health. Investor confidence (and Apples stock price) would not take kindly to seeing a sickly Jobs at the expo. Rightly or wrongly, Apple is seen as very dependant on Jobs and if people think he’s not long for this world it will hurt the company greatly.

While we’re talking about Apple here, just a quick word of warning. On a recent post we were told about a new way of phishing. It’s no longer just in emails. About two weeks ago, I got a popup notice on my emailer. It was an EXACT replica of what the emailer might do. It said, “The POP server “pop-server.(name of emailer).com” rejected the password for user (my name).

Please re-enter your password, or cancel.

[ ] Remember this password in my key chain.

Since I had read about this new method of phishing, I ignored it. But it was tempting because I’ve had trouble with the server where my email is concerned. A week later, I got the message again. I called my server, and was told, “We did not send it. We would never notify you that way.”

The intruders are getting REALLY SNEAKY. Just a warning for anyone else who might get a similar popup message from their servers.

He’s really pale, sick, and emaciated, and such a public appearance would obviously make Apple’s stock tank.

Were those 18 reasons supposed to be funny?
