LAKE FOREST, Calif. Pastor Rick Warren is set to deliver the invocation for President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 20, Saddleback Church officials confirmed Wednesday.
Kristin Cole, a spokeswoman for Warren, said church officials were waiting on Obama's team to make the announcement.
Just this past August, Obama and John McCain were guests at the two-hour Saddleback Church Civil Forum on Leadership and Compassion where Warren questioned them about issues that ranged from abortion and same-sex marriage to the nature of good and evil.

You mention rightly, that we can not even pray in our schools etc. Well, who`s fault is that? People that voted Democrat I think you would agree.
We also do not know when the Lord is coming back, I for one selfishly, would like it to be very soon. Not to mention it would be great if all the suffering of people and animals would come to a end. Mind you the suffering for some will only be beginning on that great day of the Lords return.
You also say, how different could it be if McCain had won? For starters, McCain would have at least had the power to stop liberal judges from populating the Supreme Court, he might even have got one or 2 on? For sure he could have prevented what Obama is going to do to the court.
4 years of Liberals rejecting all McCain's appointments, would have been a victory in itself.
Not to mention the comfort/joy Sarah Palin would have given to us Christians as VP.
Personally, I am still DEVASTATED by Obama`s victory. I will not be watching a moment of this clown being inaugurated.
Yes I will pray for a miracle, that somehow He will see the light and become a Christian...
I believe all things are possible with God, but I just do not see that happening. There is just no evidence that he is even the least bit interested in becoming a Christian.
God Bless Obama
“He did”
I’m sure Warren would be surprised to hear that.
Hard to believe he would do this. Sad.
He will as long as you are a U.S. citizen. Grow up.
You see how McCain has already abandoned Palin and won't say he supports her for president. You would see him push the Bush Amnesty plan, and I would even bet he would choose a liberal judge, just to be fair and moderate. The point I'm making is, yes, between Obama and McCain, I voted for McCain, but to believe he would change the direction or velocity of America's decline toward Sodom is just crazy. He's not a king or a dictator. Don't forget Dems have run the congress for the last 2 years and now have almost a veto proof majority. I'll even bet McCain votes with the Dems to keep a veto from happening to show how "bipartisan" he can be.
The point is, we get caught up with the minutiae of day to day politics, but the fact remains we are headed to a bitter end of civilization long term. The homosexuals act as if we are denying them some right, but they haven't had it since the foundation of the world and not one civilized culture accepts sodomy as a normal act. They will keep trying and keep trying, just like cancer, until they kill the host. We will eventually have socialized medicine, even if it means rationing, because it has to come, so the liberals will have the power to kill you. Have no doubt, that is the end result. You will either have too large of a carbon footprint, or be declared a useless eater, or cost the proletariat too much money to keep alive. They want the power to decide who lives and dies, they want to maximize dead babies to save the planet, and they want to control how you live, what you eat, and what vehicle you drive. How does electing Palin stop that? How would even a clone of Reagan stop that? They teach it in school, the news media pushes it. Global warming is a foolish idea with no foundation, and yet if you don't agree with it, you are a fool and are to be ridiculed and shunned. We will end up on mopeds, freezing in the dark, rather than drill in Alaska.
The die is cast. We cannot be saved short of genuine revival. Yes we can be saved, but what are the odds? Polls say 85% of US citizens claim to be Christians. Somebody is lying.
I think Sarah would have kept John in check. I am still devastated by Obama`s election.
Who was it that was sworn in by his dad (a Justice of the Peace) in his living room because he thought a fancy inauguration would be too much trouble?
